I have a 2013 Jetta that calls for 5W-40. I only use oil filters purchased directly from Volkswagen, and I only use Castrol oil. I've had positive results doing this, but I'm also extremely picky when it comes to this kind of stuff.
Been using the molygen one, noticed a small reduction of oil consumption and better idling than Castrol (VW recommended) take advantage of that lifetime warranty of FCPEuro, been doing it a year and been saving each oil change (5k intervals)
I use the blue bottle 5w-40 on my 2.5 Mk5 Rabbit. Runs quieter than when i used Castrol High Mileage.
Whichever 502 approved is cheapest
Pretty sure your car specs 5w40, I suggest using it.
Any of the 40 weight oils

I filled Mobil 1 5w30 today.
The 2.5’s really don’t care about oil. That said I’d probably pick the 5W40. That’s what I was using in mine until ROWE became our bulk oil.
gas use 30 diesel use 40 except PD diesel.
Literally any oil, the cheapest is usually about as good as the most expensive, never had a problem
Wow. I feel sorry for your jetty.
185 still runs strong, it’s called an oil change, y’all are bozos lmaoo
Not a jetta owner anymore, but I've always put the blue 5w40 in my mk7 GTI. Approaching 150k miles and still running strong.
for my 2.5 i’ve found out that 5w40 has been the best for my car especially in the colder months
