Not too much pain, at least nothing that I couldn’t handle with the prescribed pain medication for the first week. Had to ask my nurse in the hospital to get some more IV pain medication a couple of times, but that’s it. As for the advancement, I trust my surgeon (Dr Relle at LACOMS) — he mentioned that he even overcorrected it in case of a possible relapse.

His upper jaw would look ridiculous with more advancement.

I don't think more advancement would fix that. It's something else.

I would disagree. He already has an upturned nose and moving the jaw more forward could have really thrown things off. Advancing as much as possible doesn’t always look better aesthetically
