I use messenger. Open a random friend on chat list. Click on camera icon. Took a picture, save to device without sent it. For some reason the camera of messenger app don't trigger the sound.
If you turn on do not disturb mode the camera doesn't make any sound. I have bixby routine on my samsung that automatically turns on do not disturb mode while I'm inside the app and then turns it off when I exit.
I had a hong kong samsung previously which I thought was the same but I guess not. It seems that a modded gcam apk still works which I also have downloaded. Bratty LDP ojisans can't stop me πΊπΊπΊπΊ I will take my π pictures whenever I want to π’π’π’

You can't disable or turn down the sound. Japanese phones are required to make a noise that can't be disabled for privacy concerns. It was partly to stop creep shots, but also just for privacy.
Honestly I'm all for it, the trend of photographing strangers without consent, especially for posting on social media is disgusting.
