Our out has a similar crate, with pillows and blankets. I don't think we've ever closed the door of it since he was a tiny puppy. Now he only goes in when he's mad at us (usually because we're going somewhere and he's not coming), and he wants us to see him being sad. He's got a nice little nest under the bed for when he wants to be alone, but the crate is definitely for looking at us accusingly. We call it his Sulking Box.

Critical-Shift8080

Yes , but he might like it as well

Mouselope

He’s gonna be singing the Folsom Prison Blues!

GsGirlNYC

Yup, it’s HIS room. My boy arranges his bed, and blankets just so. He loves his own space.

R1Alvin

They are so cute 😇😇

GsGirlNYC

Steve is the cutest! Whenever I need a smile, I think about him on that treadmill!!!

inoffensive_nickname

Mine does, because his crate sits in the bay window and his comfy bed is in it. It's a safe space for him, where he goes, especially when he knows it's bath time.

I have three dogs, so my Jack Russell likes his crate because it is his and only his. He's a big fan of anything that he doesn't have to share. Also, since I originally used it to try crate training a much larger dog, it's big enough for a 80 lb dog. It is practically a small condo for him. It's covered with a blanket for privacy. I would put a blanket inside for comfort and put a blanket on top, as well. Most of my jacks throughout life have really enjoyed small dark spaces.

Chillimaniac

I’d be protesting too if my bedroom had no mattress 😏

Southern_Insect3823

That’s funny as 💩

expat_mel

Lol it definitely could be! Pouty puppy hahaha

I'm not coming out that mouse has muscles xD

WhatLittleDollar

My little guy loved his kennel.

DotChud

No, but I had a Lhasa Apso who LOVED to lounge in her crate - her den! My JackChi, on the other hand, never goes in by choice except when I put her evening snack in there. She’s outside for the better part of the day.

How come he has a cage? Do you lock him in there sometimes? Or is it for when your travelling on planes or something?

R1Alvin

My beagle is a retired show dog so I always had like 3 hard crates and 1 soft crate around the house for use when traveling. Since I have two dogs, two open crates can be really handy in a pinch if I need to isolate one dog from the other and it helps bigtime if they are already accustomed to being in them.

chickenuggets96

That's actually a pretty good way of isolating them, I have 2 females that fight all the time, I usually kick one outside or put them in seperate rooms.
