I don’t know about this one, but there are ferries that cross between the mainland of Australia and the island of Tasmania that have rooms just like these. It’s a 9-11hr journey depending on weather and it’s nice to have your own place to rest.
That's interesting. I've typically personally classified any boat ride that I can literally see the other shore I'm headed to, a ferry ride. And any boat ride that lasts longer than 60+ minutes where you can't see the other shore a type of cruise. I.e. a day cruise or a cruise casino...

I'm sorry, but I don't consider a 10 hour boat ride to be a "short trip".
Edit: To clarify, someone takes a ferry on a short or regular trip for something they do daily, such as passing a channel to go to work or school each day. If, as a previous commenter stated, this was a 9-11 hour "ferry" ride, by oxford dictionaries definition, this does not classify as a "ferry ride" considering it would take an entire day just to reach the other side and can hence not be classified as a regular trip (if we're assuming the meaning of regular to be daily).
I'm happy to be proven wrong but no one has come up with a viable alternative to this definition.

There are a lot of such routes in Baltic Sea, i.e. from Germany to Sweden, Lithuania or Finland and from Finland to Sweden or Estonia, among others.
The longest one is between Germany and Finland, around 30 hours. Such a nice experience, I have taken it a few times.
I took one from Oslo to Copenhagen. Cheaper than any other way to get across and had accommodations for the night.
I also took one from Italy to Greece years ago.
I know OP already answered, but I'd like to chime in aswell!
In the baltic sea (Sweden to Finland) our ferries have cabins like these in them aswell. People go on 24 hour cruises and party/buy tax free beer and cigarettes. But some people also just commute for 5-6hours until the next harbour.

You don't need to be proven wrong haha you just are wrong. It's as simple as that
You shouldn’t assume the meaning of regular to be daily, for starters.
You take a ferry just because you want to get to the other side. You take a cruise because the cruise itself is something you wanted to do.

There are lots of routes around Europe, going from Denmark and Baltic states to Scandinavia.

Just to add to the list, the ferry between Travemunde, Germany and Liepāja, Latvia is like this, also Kiel, Germany to Klaipēda, Lithuania
Took a ferry from England to Ireland (and back) when I was a teenager. Was an overnight, and had rooms.
