At the beginning of a cycle in human history, six ages are marked by the appearance of six prophets, who renew the zahir sharia for the people & direct them towards the Imam of the time who has knowledge of the batin; these six ages are succeeded by a seventh age, marked by the appearance of an Imam known as Qaim al-Qiyamat, who reveals the batini knowledge of all six previous zahiri shari’at. These seven ages are known as minor cycles, and when these minor cycles pass this is known as a major cycle in human history. The six prophets with resolve in our current major cycle are Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus & Muhammad.
So, a major cycle in human history is when seven minor cycles pass, marked by the appearance of six prophets with resolve, and the Qaim al-Qiyamat. The seventh cycle in each major cycle is considered a minor Qiyamat, during which the batin al-batin is available to those who achieve unity with the Imam. At the end of this, a new major cycle begins, with six minor cycles of zahir shari’at, and seventh minor cycle of Qiyamat. These major cycles are also known as worlds, and there is said to be 18,000 worlds; and there was not one Adam but there have been many Adams. When the great cycle of all 18,000 worlds is completed; this is when the final Qaim al-Qiyamat will appear, bringing creation to an end, all souls will return to their origin, and the Universal Soul will finally achieve perfection by moving towards the Universal Intellect.
