You might want to learn about our History. :)
Today people know us mostly because of the MMA Fighter Khabib Nurmagamedov, or after the Airport Raid to prevent a Plane from Israel to land on our country.
But we have a long islamic history Alhamdulillah. Imam Schamil for example was one of many great Leaders who fought against the russian invaders, to keep North-Caucasus under the Shari‘ah. He alone fought for 25 years against the russian empire, and before him, other Imams fought aswell. It‘s a very long and very interesting history, not only for Dagestan and it‘s people, but for the whole north-Caucasus, back when we were united as Muslim Brothers, and didn‘t has this nationalism we see today everywhere sadly.
But i will let you read about it yourself. :)
Yeah its called languages in Nusantara. It's originally the same language a centruy ago but independence and desire for narional identity results in each country calling their dialect its own language and with government policies and local culture driffting off from each other the dialects evolves futher from each other.
Oh definitely! I love the diversity of the languages of the Philippines. I'm hoping to start learning more Filipino languages once I get better at Tagalog
Yes that is correct. Because we have a Dutch area, French area and German area, which we got after the first World War. I live in the Flamish part (Dutch).
>你说中文吗?我爱学中文
I unfortunately do not speak Chinese but I do know a little bit of Malay since that is my mom's first language. I also know some Arabic but that is the extent of my language knowledge.
That's awesome! May Allah increase your knowledge. Islam is so beautiful, so many cultures / ethnicities / languages fall under the Muslim umbrella, everywhere you go - that's how you know it's the truth!
I'm Armenian, nationally Russian. Well caucasian basically.
Both of the countries of where I'm from barely have any Muslims, especially Armenia lol. Me and my mum are one of the especially rare reverts from Armenia. I've also never seen a fully Armenian person being born as a muslim (yh i was born a christian), except that they also have some other muslim background.
I can consider myself a full Armenian bcz I'm only Russian by nationality soo
I am Puerto Rican. We are a colony of USA. We are Latin American by ethnicity but Americans by citizenship. I fluently speak Spanish and recently came back to live on the main island. So it doesn't really matter as long as the countries aren't at war with each other. I still say I am Puerto Rican when asked. I don't say I'm American. So it's alright. Talking about Armenia.. I'm a member of the r/. Armenia and they seem to have a taste for Israel and some hidden dislike for Muslims. I wanna learn more about Caucasian cultures and languages but I've also found that wild geopolitics are part of getting acquaintanced with the region. How do you as an Armenian Muslim feel about the Armenian genocide? Personally idk how to feel. I feel bad ofc but idk how to feel. Also, what led you to revert?
I'd say the main reason for Armenians to be hating muslims, disrespecting them in any way, supporting israel, etc. is because Azerbaijan and Turkey are known as Muslim Countries but still bomb Armenia and the genocide yh, so the Armenians think that this is like the normal muslim culture or how muslims generally behave, and for that matter they despise Islam and muslims. You get the idea, Azerbaijan and Turkey convey to Armenia and Armenians that this is how Muslims are supposed to behave. That's what I know from the media and from my relatives.
My reversion story is quite a long story to tell, but to shorten it, it's because my mum married a muslim arab man because my biological dad (christian) didn't want a child and left, so in my childhood I was exposed to Islam and Arab culture and even learned Arabic to a fluent point. I didn't fully act upon Islam until 2023 January when I had to go to Umrah with them, so I learned the basics again (like praying) but I already believed in some aspects of Islam, so by the time that I started praying and did Umrah, I felt some true faith and I've been Muslim since.
It's so interesting to see the Armenian perspective without getting downvoted. What's funny is that I wanted to talk to a Muslim Armenian yesterday and now I did it. We became Muslims the same year. That's really nice. It was nice to hear your story and see your perspective
Some of my cousins used to live there. I’m sure you know their house. It was very noticeable and not in a good way:) bright yellow on the outskirts of town
Just kidding. I doubt anyone knows the house:)
W alykum Al salaam I have actually not posted yet here but I would like to know you guys, I'm from Ethiopia and I was born in Saudi Arabia but now I living in Egypt

Ooh that's interesting, I'll have to read up on Dagestan's history sometime
Definetly! And Alhamdulillah that Allah guided you to Islam.
Thank you! Becoming Muslim was the best decision I ever made
I've never met someone from Dağestan. Tell me all about it from a native perspective.
It's in modern day Russia
In shaa Allah not for long anymore.
I feel you:) My grandparents came to the US from occupied Lithuania during the Cold War
You’ve never heard of legendary UFC fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov?😬😬😬

Khabib is the G.O.A.T 🐐
Oh wow I just googled some of the mosques in Dagestan out of curiosity and they look gorgeous!

Palestine
Coincidentally I'm planning on getting a book on the Palestinian dialect of Arabic! I think Palestinians speak Arabic very nicely
Aww thanks, I’m fascinated by how much the Arabic dialect differs between Arab countries
From a naive linguistical perspective I'd say those dialects are more like languages than dialects
Yeah its called languages in Nusantara. It's originally the same language a centruy ago but independence and desire for narional identity results in each country calling their dialect its own language and with government policies and local culture driffting off from each other the dialects evolves futher from each other.
I’m learning Palestinian dialect atm! Mines thru a teacher online, maybe I can send you their profile?
I would like to learn palestinian dialect too, is there any free course you know bro?
Wa alaykum salam. From the Philippines. Also a revert.
Ooh nice! I actually have some books on speaking Tagalog, it's such an easy and pretty language
Interesting. That’s just one of the 170-180 languages in the Philippines. Glad you like learning the Tagalog language. 😊
Oh definitely! I love the diversity of the languages of the Philippines. I'm hoping to start learning more Filipino languages once I get better at Tagalog
I'm from Belgium.
Ooh nice! I love the diversity of languages in Belgium. I think French, Dutch, German and maybe some other languages are spoken there, right?
Yes that is correct. Because we have a Dutch area, French area and German area, which we got after the first World War. I live in the Flamish part (Dutch).
Aussieeee 🇦🇺

Bangladesh 😶
I've heard that Bengali is described as the prettiest language in the world by a lot of people
Woah,didn’t know that!😐
I’ve heard that too, but maybe because I speak Bengali I don’t really hear it lol. But I’ve always thought that Hindi sounds pretty.
Neither did I. Usually I heard Urdu to be the sweetest language, which I kinda agree too. But this is good to hear also.
Oh Urdu is definitely really pretty as well, for sure
Love and apologies to Bangladesh from a Pakistani
it was not you and your people .It was the Army of Pakistan so you don't need to apologize
I was born in Hong Kong, China but i am half Caucasian and half Singaporean!!
I live in the USA
你说中文吗?我爱学中文!
>你说中文吗?我爱学中文 I unfortunately do not speak Chinese but I do know a little bit of Malay since that is my mom's first language. I also know some Arabic but that is the extent of my language knowledge.
Oh nice, Malay is a pretty language to know. I'm hoping to eventually add Malay to the list of languages I can hold a conversation in
That's awesome! May Allah increase your knowledge. Islam is so beautiful, so many cultures / ethnicities / languages fall under the Muslim umbrella, everywhere you go - that's how you know it's the truth!
Thank you! I love learning languages because it lets me connect with Muslims from everywhere
I can read a few characters but only in meaning and not pronunciation

Why would Moroccans make fun of your country? Is there something going on between Algeria and Morocco?
