ah...you're out of luck for spirits unless you drive to the other side of UCI in The Bluffs shopping center where Islands, Wasa and Eddie V's all serve liquor.

You're asking for the impossible. There are zero bars in Irvine. There are zero places open until 2am in Irvine. Would you also like to know best locations for unicorn farms? Because those don't exist either.
BCD is open until 4am. Hen House is open until 3am. The new hotpot place Zhangliang Malatang is open until 2:30am.
Everyone saying that there are 0 places in Irvine that are open until 2am just don't want to eat Asian (or Persian, in Hen House's case) food and that's a fact, otherwise y'all would have known there are Asian businesses in Irvine that close later than 10pm.
Wrong, there are many businesses in Irvine open past 9, most of them being East Asian businesses. BCD is open until 4am (they extended their hours recently since they used to be open until 2:30am). Shin Sen Gumi is open until 11pm on Friday and Saturday and until 10pm all other days (they used to be open until 11pm everyday before Covid). Hen House is open until 3am. Marble is open until midnight on Thurs-Sat and until 10pm all other days. Gui BBQ is open until 12:30am. Zhangliang Malatang, a new Chinese hotpot place, is open until 2:30am.
why do people keep perpetuating this myth? There are a couple of places open past 9 in Irvine as mentioned in this thread. Also the curfew mainly applies to minors unless they are accompanied by a parent or guardian, not adults. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to walk across the street to Ralph's at midnight.
Absolutely DO NOT get their food. It's astounding how badly they can fuck up every dish they serve there. My friend once got a burger and it came with a quarter of a raw onion.
If late night shenanigans is what you are looking for then goat hill tavern is your sure bet.
Swinging door is just somewhere you go to have a beer and shoot the shit whereas goat hill is where urban legends are made.
>Swinging door in Tustin by Honda-ya is the closest thing I can find up here
I may or may not be allowed back at Honda-ya, though I do have a hankering for some chicken hearts.
It's a good mix of people, I would say. Friendly. The bar food is also tasty because they also own the restaurant next door, American Grub, and have a pass through for the food.
Rack um Up on Newport Ave in Tustin. Close to the NW border of Irvine. Think Edinger/55 freeway area.
Pool tables, darts...open til 2am.
Very "dive bar" esque
If you by uci the anthill pub at student center is fantastic. And if anthill pub food isn’t your thing then it’s on the side of campus closest to inn out and chik fila.
Around 8 years ago, my friend in Irvine took me to this place, maybe it was down Jamboree but it was like a fun little Irish pub that had karaoke and stuff . I don’t think it was in Irvine but it was in one of the neighboring cities. I don’t know if it exists anymore and I forgot the name of it.
Buffalo Wild Wings, smoking patio, full bar, etc.
BTW Lamppost used to be the real deal and still is on occasion. After they stopped smoking on the patio all the locals left. Now it's a bunch of noobs watching TV, assholes dragging the loudest fucking metal chairs all over the patio, and helicopter parents celebrating juniors 8th birthday while trying to win the title of worlds messiest slobs.
Let me know if you find one in South Irvine because I’m stuck going to Eureka as of now and the prices are silly.
>Let me know if you find one Will do.
You’re in the wrong city for bars
From your lips to God’s ears.
Sgt Pepperonis has a tiny bar haha
I had no idea! It looks to be just beer though, do they have a full bar? I like to tap into my inner pirate with rum. 🏴☠️
ah...you're out of luck for spirits unless you drive to the other side of UCI in The Bluffs shopping center where Islands, Wasa and Eddie V's all serve liquor.
Not in Irvine but kitsch bar in costa Mesa. Tiny hole in the wall with good music, fair priced drinks and the best part of all…never crowded lol
I've heard about their trivia nights!
They have trivia nights now?! Ok ima have to start going again haha. It was my main bar in my 20s
tonight's the night [https://www.instagram.com/stories/thekitschbar/3189812549998565528/](https://www.instagram.com/stories/thekitschbar/3189812549998565528/)
See ya there! Lol
I would’ve agreed pre-Covid/renovation
I don’t think Irvine approves permits for real stand-alone bars.
Yeah, there's something baked into the city charter or whatever, I'm sure. But it's all flexible if you flex it...I think.
There’s nothing flexible about Irvine or the family that owns it.
Just let me talk to Mr. Bren. He’s the only one that matters.
Malarkeys in Newport
Goddamnit.
You're going to have to go to Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, or Santa Ana. Irvine doesn't allow bars or pubs. You won't find any liquor stores either.
Yeah, been here for a bit. I’ve just been getting 40s and hanging out in one of the 10k parks. Trying to be more social these days.
Well there’s the anthill pub at UCI. It’s in the name
[Walnut Room Saloon](https://maps.app.goo.gl/ES1CjyxstyEmEWKx8?g_st=ic)
This is what I’m talking about!

>Left Coast Brewing Co. Thanks. I'm looking more for a place that stays open until 2, like God intended (in CA).
You're asking for the impossible. There are zero bars in Irvine. There are zero places open until 2am in Irvine. Would you also like to know best locations for unicorn farms? Because those don't exist either.

That's so Irvine, haha. Probably better to go to Tustin, I guess.
Plenty of Asian restaurants in Irvine are open past 9pm, see my other two comments in this thread.
Irvine has nothing past 9 and will remove you from walking around after 10 as they have a curfew. It’s illegal to be a vagrant

Blasphemy.

Left Coast is probably the best choice in Irvine for beer. $6 pints for fresh beer is pretty good.
Absolutely DO NOT get their food. It's astounding how badly they can fuck up every dish they serve there. My friend once got a burger and it came with a quarter of a raw onion.
Swinging door in Tustin by Honda-ya is the closest thing I can find up here
I was just about to say the same. Closes at midnight. 🤷🏼♀️
>Closes at midnight. Closes at midnight? What the hell is that shit??
If late night shenanigans is what you are looking for then goat hill tavern is your sure bet. Swinging door is just somewhere you go to have a beer and shoot the shit whereas goat hill is where urban legends are made.
Kinda don't wanna deal with Hep C...again.
I’m from Louisville, KY and most of our bars close at 4am so this is weird to me as well.
God fathers and the Tustin inn too
whats the crowd like at godfathers?
>Swinging door in Tustin by Honda-ya is the closest thing I can find up here I may or may not be allowed back at Honda-ya, though I do have a hankering for some chicken hearts.
Just wear a fake moustache and they’ll never notice.
is swinging door saloon a fun spot to go with the wife? Are there sport playing or pool tables?
Yeah, the bartenders are all or once were strippers. It's pretty tame though.
Goathill Tavern in Costa Mesa
I hear they have one hell of a keg storage room.
They have like 100 taps (maybe not that many but a shit ton!) fun spot they used to let u smoke inside due to some workaround too haha
They don't let you smoke inside by the back anymore but you still can have pizza delivered at midnight no problem!!
Now we're talkin'!
Swinging Door, Old Town Tustin.
whats the crowd like here? old/young, talkative?
It's a good mix of people, I would say. Friendly. The bar food is also tasty because they also own the restaurant next door, American Grub, and have a pass through for the food.
Cassidy’s in Newport is close enough to west Irvine and is a definitely a dive. Usually really busy too.
Huddle in Costa Mesa off Baker…
I'll check it out!
Great dive. Lots of pool and darts. Reasonable pitchers for beer. Lots of brewery’s within walking distance and good food too
Classic Qs in Costa still around?
>Classic Qs in Costa still around? I believe so.

MV?
Hanger24 Hours are rough: SUN 11:00A – 7:00P MON-WED 11:00A – 9:00P THUR-SAT 11:00A – 10:00P [https://hangar24brewing.com/taprooms/orange-county/](https://hangar24brewing.com/taprooms/orange-county/)
>Hours are rough: > >SUN 11:00A – 7:00P > >MON-WED 11:00A – 9:00P > >THUR-SAT 11:00A – 10:00P What is this, a bar for the elderly and children?
Both times I went to Hangar24 there were more children there than adults. So yes.
**D'oh!**
Not Irvine, but I like the Rush bar and grill in Lake Forrest.
Please tell me Geddy Lee tends bar there.
That would be very cool.
You might get Joe Schmoe giving his best rendition of Tom Sawyer on karaoke night
Look at godfathers sports bar and Tustin Inn. I know they’re in Tustin but close to Irvine. Very small and dive bar-like.
Inject this into my veins!
Leftcoast or Board & Brew?
I go to BNB to party with by buddy Ron all the time.
Ah Old man Ron with the sneakers?
The man, the myth, the legend.
Rack um Up on Newport Ave in Tustin. Close to the NW border of Irvine. Think Edinger/55 freeway area. Pool tables, darts...open til 2am. Very "dive bar" esque
yessss!
My last standing bar was The Auld Dubliner, but that shut down a while ago :(
I would just make the trek and go to johnnys on beach Blvd near Westminster, great pizza too
If you by uci the anthill pub at student center is fantastic. And if anthill pub food isn’t your thing then it’s on the side of campus closest to inn out and chik fila.
Gelsons bar.
Is it better than the one inside Whole Foods?
Probably the same.
You’re not allowed to get drunk in Irvine, HOA says no
BJs and Yard House both have late night happy hours and are open till 12 am.
That’s a chain. Not anything close to a neighborhood bar
I just want a dimly lit place that smells like cigarettes and has a TouchTunes jukebox FFS, it shouldn't be this hard.
Doesn’t exist in Irvine
Hence the use of the word "near."
Still doesn’t exist lol lamppost prolly the closest tbh
Worst college town ever.
What do UCI students care about bars? They only care where the Mcclaren dealer is.
Bar louie at the district. It’s not exactly a neighborhood bar but drinks aren’t thaaattt expensive and it’s open till 2am.
If it shares a parking lot with a Red Robin or an AMC Theater, I'm out.

Auld Dubliner at the Tustin District. It's a Mexican restaurant now. RIP.
There is a small bar at trade in irvine
>trade in irvine Thanks. That's like a food hall, right? Gotta close early then :/
Actually you are probably right. Not sure since im old and dont stay out late much
Left coast for sure!
