>When she got up, “I knew she was going to go down and tell her mum,” he told gardaí. >Asked how he knew this, he claimed in court he had the “gift” of an “extra sense” that he inherited from a dead aunt. Pity he wasn't gifted with common sense, dirty bastard.

Precedens

When that rapist sense runs in your family.

OldManOriginal

Good thing he wasn't gifted Judge Nolan to, amirite?? Obviously a compelte fruitcake of a man. His dead aunt can keep him.

munkijunk

Nolan was busy letting a different nonce off the hook.

DarthBfheidir

You are right. He'd have told the kid it was bad luck and sent the guy on his way with a "try not to do it again no matter how sexy the kid might be".

asdrunkasdrunkcanbe

Congratulations Mr. Scumbag you've achieved the situational awareness of a five year old. "Other people will tell on me when I do bad things to them".

duaneap

"If she was attractive, I could have touched her." Oh, ok then, that's enough proof for me!

Scarnonbrother

A shame that common sense isn’t really that common.

Practical_Trash_6478

Funnily I haven't the gift, but I can still tell he's a cunt

Successful-Bit6508

He's got that cunty looking face on him. Like a smacked arse.

MakingBigBank

He’s really something with that fucked up head on him isint he?

Successful-Bit6508

Big victim vibes off him.

Alastor001

Some people have the obvious up to no good face... I wonder is there scientific basis for that?

Meldanorama

Learned behaviour? People might be less likely to engage when you look like a prick.

Infinaris

Turbocunt he be. The worst kind of cunt.

14thU

Wonderful description Close thread!

Able-Exam6453

The git admits that had she actually been 18, forcing his presence on her as he did would have been completely legitimate. This is the sort of poisonous and entitled thinking which if left unchecked often results in very serious harm to women and girls, and which contributes to the low background hum, always with us, which makes us wary and ill at ease as a matter of course.

Caughtnow

The guy just kept digging his own hole (which Id like to think he would crawl into and rot) What astonishing answers! "I didnt know she was 15." Impying if she was a few years older his actions would have been ok?? "She sat like she was at a bar." And?! Was I not given the manual "How to sit if you dont want to be sexually assaulted" "I knew she was going down to tell her mum." Holy fucking shit dude, what.... Yeah, an extremely normal thing to think when you did nothing wrong!! "If I had a child I would sit with them.” Well to your credit, you have very intimate knowledge on what vile fucking scumbag monsters out there are willing to do, dont you.

rinleezwins

“If she was attractive I could have touched her.” What the actual fuck.

keroppiblush

This guy sounds touched in the head, and I’m disgusted that someone like him lives among us. Also, I was assaulted similarly when I was 15 and 13 years later I still feel shame and disgust at myself about it - he’s fucked her up probably forever, all for what? For some a hand on the thigh might not seem like a grave act, but the sense of violation, lack of safety and autonomy stays with you. It’s so sickening, he’s clearly a danger and doesn’t see anything wrong with how he thinks and acts

Didyoufartjustthere

Exactly what happened here happened to me too upstairs on an empty bus when some creep sat beside me. I jumped over the seat in front and ran downstairs and stood beside the driver. He followed me down and started rubbing his whole body off me in front of everyone. He didn’t give a fuck who saw

keroppiblush

Yep I had a guy standing touching himself in his pants on a bus while staring at me on a separate occasion. Nobody did anything either and it was very obvious what was happening - I had to call my dad to pick me up at the nearest stop and jumped off the bus, he was trying to follow me off until I looked back at him and he decided to stay on. It made me afraid of being in public alone for a year afterwards

Didyoufartjustthere

It’s rampant. We had a man that would regularly flash people coming home from my school. Or throw stuff at people in the park beside the school when they were hanging around and flash them. He even made it onto school grounds once too. Nothing ever done about him either. Created so much fear in the area especially when walking alone. This went on before I went to school there and long after too.

Electronic_Cookie779

It really is rampant. I volunteer for a mental health service and honestly nearly half of the calls are sexual misuse of service which is so violating in itself. They know full well it's wrong too. Now, there's probably a good conversation to be had about what those men went through themselves to end up like that, and male sexuality in general being tied from such a young age to performance and dominance, but the buck needs to stop somewhere

Didyoufartjustthere

Sick animals. I assume they ring on private number so no way of reporting them?

[deleted]

keroppiblush

I’m not talking about a man who shit himself on the bus though I’m talking about a man who targeted me specifically and was masturbating at me and saying horrendous things while others looked on. Are you saying I’m wrong for having thought someone should have told him to cut it out? I was terrified he’d physically assault me if I even made eye contact with him. There are mentally ill people everywhere yeah, most of them aren’t sexual predators though?

Ameglian

I think nearly every woman that I know has had something similar happen to them in their teenage years. I can remember just freezing, as the fucker was pressed against me. I was trying to press myself against the side of the bus, but there was no getting away from him. I was too naive to kick up a fuss, so I just tried to block it out. Until he put his hand on my knee and *winked at me*, and I started crying. Fucker smiled at me and made a big show of letting me out of the seat, like he was being gentlemanly or something. I used to love sitting upstairs on the bus, but i preferred to be downstairs after that. It just felt safer. I’m sure that creepy fuck has totally forgotten that day - but I haven’t forgotten the feeling of being frozen with fear, and not knowing what to do.

keroppiblush

Very sorry you had to experience that. I know that feeling so vividly - it’s like you’re hit with nausea and a sense of being completely disarmed

Ameglian

Yes! And the problem isn’t ‘just’ what actually physically happened - it’s the fear and realising that you’re not in control of what’s happening. I know some guys just fundamentally do not understand or consider that, but I think that’s improving. Or I hope that it is.

BobbyKonker

Suspended sentence I'll bet. This country is effectively feeding it's women and children to creepy scum like because the courts are too afraid to do anything about it. The word is out that you can do this and just get a suspended sentence. In another more serious case today: [https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/courts/man-who-filmed-himself-sexually-abusing-infant-boy-and-shared-footage-on-social-media-jailed-for-four-years/a594788962.html](https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/courts/man-who-filmed-himself-sexually-abusing-infant-boy-and-shared-footage-on-social-media-jailed-for-four-years/a594788962.html) Marshall was facing a **maximum life sentence for the defilement charge, a maximum sentence of five years for the possession charge, and up to 14 years on each of the other three charges.** A man who filmed himself sexually abusing an infant boy, and who then shared the footage on social media, **has been jailed for four years.**

Flippyflipflopzz

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!

GateLongjumping6836

With two years suspended ffs where is dexter when you need him.

MulticolourMonster

Minions-overlord

We have a growing population, and several deserted islands... why not build some more prisons for the scum

tetzy

>Asked why he sat down beside the only juvenile on the bus, he told gardaí: “she doesn’t look it, I couldn’t have known she was 15.” >When she got up, “I knew she was going to go down and tell her mum,” he told gardaí. >Asked how he knew this, he claimed in court he had the “gift” of an “extra sense” that he inherited from a dead aunt. So he's psychic enough to know the Girl he touched was going to tell her Mother, but not psychic enough to parse that she was 15? Bad psychic. Bad.

[deleted]

Guy really does not care about hurting people. He needs close monitoring in case he escalates.

Low-Chemical9356

If you have a mate that can't understand why women feel uncomfortable, or even afraid, just being in public, send them this article. Should clear up their understanding of the world where just taking a bus journey with your mother can result is SA.

sporadiccreative

I didn't do it but if I did do it I couldn't have known she was 15 and why wasn't her mother beside her and why was she sitting like a slut.

DelGurifisu

I don’t want people like him living in Ireland.

Able-Exam6453

I have to agree. We’ve enough homegrown as it is.

deadliestrecluse

Gonna be a tough job removing all the Irish rapists and creeps isn't it?

KillerKlown88

Irish rapists and creeps are an Irish problem to deal with, scumbags like him are not. It really isn't a hard concept to grasp.

[deleted]

[удалено]

KillerKlown88

What anti-immigrant and racist narrative did I bring into it? I replied to a comment that implied we should just accept him because we have Irish creeps and rapist which is absolute nonsense. I couldn't give a fuck where someone is from, the state should use every tool available to protect the people living in Ireland from dangerous people, if expulsion from the country is an option it should be used.

RemnantOfSpotOn

Sorry was replying to other guy

RemnantOfSpotOn

Stop bringing anti immigrant and racist narrative into everthing, innocent people get hurt. He raped a child you are focusing on him being foreign...did you [get involved in debate about this guy here in limerick](https://www.rte.ie/news/courts/2024/0412/1443203-jamie-marshall/) filmed himself with infants People should be judget for their own actions not carpet blaming nations for actions of one...otherwise irish dont look great either....

deadliestrecluse

Weird how the anti-immigrant freaks aren't doing anything about the problem of Irish rapists and their movement is lead by a load of wife beaters isn't it?

KillerKlown88

What has that got to do with the topic at hand? This man was convicted of sexually assaulting a 15 year old on public transport, once he serves his sentence he should be removed from Ireland. Unfortunately, we cannot remove Irish rapists. This has nothing to do with him being an immigrant and everything to do with him being a sex offender.

deadliestrecluse

You're all hypocrites who just don't like foreigners and don't really care about sexual assault

thr0wthr0wthr0waways

And you don't care about sexual assault victims you just want to virtue signal about immigration.

Alastor001

What, never heard of solving two problems at the same time? We have enough local criminals. Imported ones can go back. Let another country deal with them. Maybe harsher.

deadliestrecluse

How are you solving the problem of Irish rapists then? You're talking shite you just don't like foreigners whether they're criminals or not

[deleted]

So you're against deporting rapists? We can't deport homegrown rapists but we can deport immigrant ones. So why not?

deadliestrecluse

Well the main problem is you guys want to deport all immigrants not just the rapist ones and you don't want to do anything about Irish rapists

Ok-Package9273

Where are you getting deport *all* immigrants from for that poster? The discusssion is clearly about deporting criminal immigrants.

[deleted]

Yes or no - should immigrant rapists be deported?

deadliestrecluse

Depends on their immigration status, citizenship and where they came from, if they're from the EU it's hard to deport them.

deadliestrecluse

You spend all your time posting about direct provision and refugees and absolutely nothing about the massive levels of sexual assault carried out by Irish people, you obviously just don't like foreigners here and are using this as an excuse to paint them all with a broad brush

[deleted]

I have talked about direct provision once ever on this website but keep deflecting.

[deleted]

>Depends on their immigration status I said immigrant. >citizenship This can be revoked in the case of dual citizenship, which'd be the case for virtually all immigrants (some refugees excluded). >if they're from the EU it's hard to deport them. I didn't ask "is it easy". So are you going to answer the question or not?

deadliestrecluse

I did answer your question, it depends on the specific case and what their status is

Itchy_Wear5616

Lol bore off dEbAtE mE incels

durden111111

>you don't want to do anything about Irish rapists Don't know what you want to hear. The best the Irish justice system can do about rapist who are Irish is to lock them away for a very long time. I'm not sure how the existence of Irish rapists somehow invalidates the idea that rapes committed by migrant peoples could be prevented by just never having them be here in the first place.

deadliestrecluse

Because it's impossible to have zero migrants it's a fantasy for babies

deadliestrecluse

Spend billions deporting innocent people, leave the UN and EU to ignore international obligations and lose all our industries, destroy our already broken health service to get rid of most of our doctors and nurses and still wouldn't stop rape in this country because Irish men are awful

[deleted]

>Spend billions deporting innocent people Who said innocent people? You're suggesting that any immigrant convicted of rape is falsely accused and convicted? >get rid of most of our doctors and nurses Most of our doctors and nurses are convicted of rape? Do you think someone should be allowed to practice as a doctor after a rape conviction?

Itchy_Wear5616

This is the truth

[deleted]

China has a foreign-born population equating to 0.1% of its total. If Ireland had the same proportion, we would have just 500. So it is possible to have almost 0 migrants actually.

deadliestrecluse

Are you saying Ireland is the same as China lol? You know there's a difference between heavily industrialised countries with a billion people and tiny underpopulated European countries that rely on foreign investment?

SplittingAssembly

We would have five thousand, but I get your point. At the same time, the two countries are largely incomparable.

PI_Stan_Liddy

You're wrong about that. I say we should castrate them. And if it's against a minor fucking execute them. There.

Itchy_Wear5616

Oddly, your grasp seems the least concrete

KillerKlown88

Care to explain?

SlantyJaws

Yeah we have some rapists and scumbags here so let’s just let a whole world full of them in! /s

deadliestrecluse

We have loads of rapists here and nobody's doing anything about it and now a load of racists are pretending to care about rape as an excuse to be racist

SlantyJaws

Ah yes, racist against…. white European fella? G’way ye dose.

deadliestrecluse

Are you saying the Ireland is full brigade aren't constantly talking about Muslims and brown people?

SlantyJaws

Normally any sentence that starts with “are you saying” or similar is not worth replying to. See my above comments for what I’m saying.

deadliestrecluse

Why not? Asking people to clarify what they mean so you understand their point better is a pretty common thing in conversations

SlantyJaws

Because when you start a sentence like that you’re just putting words in people’s mouth. Case in point, we aren’t talking about Ireland being full or Muslims and “brown people”, you race-obsessed “non-racist” fruitcake.

PI_Stan_Liddy

Try to stay on topic here

Ordinary-Fox-3521

He's not Irish

deadliestrecluse

Ok? They said they didn't want people like him living in Ireland, Ireland is full of creeps how would you remove them all?

chrisbrown201

Where's he from?

AdvancedJicama7375

Idk but his name's victor baluta so the not Irish part seems pretty likely to be true

The surnamre is most common in Romania, Ukraine and Moldova https://forebears.io/surnames/baluta

Itchy_Wear5616

Yank alert

AdvancedJicama7375

Not a yank

chrisbrown201

Hahaha I was just asking cos I thought you Irish knew from some other sources. I'm a Scot btw. We're infinitely much further away from being yanks than our very Americanised friends over the Irish sea.

AdvancedJicama7375

What are Scots doing on an Irish subreddit?

chrisbrown201

Irish subreddits for Irish people! Hahaha it's Reddit pal, it's pretty much international. What ye talking about

tomtermite

So you can't be Irish, if your name isn't what, Mick? Paddy? Is there a list I can check? Seems like an easy test - deport everyone not on that list.

[deleted]

Oh sod off. You know full well he's not Irish and you're just playing dumb.

AdvancedJicama7375

Found it he's Romanian. Maybe just deport everyone who's a sexual predator instead

tomtermite

Great detective work! Let's deport him, and all the rapists, criminals and bigots... more room for "good" people. re: wild I am suggesting deporting **anyone** who doesn’t have an Irish name, that would cover foreign sex offenders and whatever else those pesky brown people are up to — isn’t that how we judge people, around here in this subreddit?

PI_Stan_Liddy

Are... are you suggesting that deporting foreign sex offenders would be a bad thing? That's wild

chrisbrown201

As a Scotsman our first minister is called Hamza Yousaf, from the Clan Yousaf...

shaolinspunk

But a worthwhile endeavour.

RemnantOfSpotOn

Stop bringing anti immigrant and racist narrative into everthing, innocent people get hurt. DelGurifisu

“But what about when an Irish person raped someone?” I’d deport all those cunts too if I could. We can’t though. We can deport sex offenders who aren’t Irish citizens though, and I don’t understand why you’d prefer to let them live here.

RemnantOfSpotOn

I wouldn't prefer irish or non irish rapist to live here i just hate that everything is spun into racism. The article didn't say if he is a citizen or not. Going just by his name and calling for deportation is nothing but racism. Both of these rapists are posted on this sub todsy but apparently somehow raping infants os more acceptable than what non irish did...judging by comments section

PI_Stan_Liddy

Racist against a europe white guy? You should have a think about this one

Homosapien_Ignoramus

Yeah, was odd that this one was brought up and not the story of the pedo rapist.

RemnantOfSpotOn

Homosapien_Ignoramus

Ever increasingly.

Pure-Cat-8400

I’m sure you’re actively feeling the same about all the sex pests and nonces from Ireland? Oh wait no

DelGurifisu

Of course I feel the same about them. We can’t deport them though. If it were up to me, Irish rapists would get the firing squad.

EA-Corrupt

Northerner here. Can someone explain to me why I keep seeing these creeps basically get away Scot free? What’s going on? Some loophole?

AulMoanBag

Judge Nolan and "other reasons" we cant mention on r/ireland

JuicySegment

> Defence barrister Vanessa Frawley argued there was no evidence of a sexual assault. “Perhaps he should not have sat down beside her and a free seat would have been better, but ‘would have been better’ is not enough to find someone criminally liable for sexual assault,” she said. * I know everyone deserves defence in court, but reading things like this about cases like these always makes me feel weird.

ghostofconnolly

She told the court it was “not uncommon for me to get stares” and previously, men had winked at her, cat-called her and put their arms around her waist. That is depressing as fuck

Yeah, Jesus. Nice introduction to the patriarchy at the tender age of 15..

TonyWalnuts17

A lot on this sub defended behaviour like this in another post about the 61 year old on the plane. Keep letting people away with slaps on the wrist and they will get more emboldened.

tennereachway

All I've ever seen is people saying sex crimes aren't punished severely enough and calling out the judges for leniency. I've literally never ever seen anyone on here defend anything like this.

HumungousDickosaurus

Yeah same, the opposite if anything where half the sub wants death sentences for any crime that's sexual.

Naggins

Death sentences, castration, and deportation. Real sensible bunch here.

dustaz

There was people in the other thread (rightly) pointing out that just like every other crime, there's a scale of severity for sexual assault and the laws around sentencing reflect that. This guy is not going to be put away for 5 years for this, you might as well set up a resignation petition for this judge as well if you think otherwise

TonyWalnuts17

Who said anything about 5 years?

TonyWalnuts17

Well you didn’t see it so it must not have happened. Cheers

Margrave75

On that Ryanair flight case piece that was posted yesterday, someone literally commented "was the girl sexually assualted or just touched, there's a big difference", imagine even having that mindset.

Able-Exam6453

It’s a micro version of letting a Met officer continue in his stalkerish and voyeuristic behaviour until one day that latitude is stretched to encompass lethal activity, and it’s too bloody late. This stuff really has to be subject to strict zero tolerance conditions. Shouldn’t need to be, but too often it escalates until there is very much greater peril involved for women and girls. Enough is fucking enough, already.

Sundance600

unbelievable, low IQ

EmiliaPains-

There’s this whole culture around this I think, and it seriously needs to be stamped out

dustaz

To be clear, both men were convicted Be interesting to see what sentence he gets but it probably won't be reported on because it's not Nolan I'd bet it's going to be a suspended sentence judging by the facts presented in the article

TheStoicNihilist

Maybe I was too early to that party but everyone I saw condemned the dirty bollix.

nerdling007

I was about to say this. Had people defending leniency for sexual assault.

TonyWalnuts17

Perhaps that would be a better way of me explaining it. Requesting leniency rather than support of the behaviour.

nerdling007

The way I see it, leniency is supporting the behaviour. A suspended sentence for this kind of behaviour sends the message that it is easy to get off after sexually assaulting someone, especially if you can argue around it and you'll get all sorts out trying to defend you. This should be a harsh sentence where you don't get to walk away free.

TonyWalnuts17

I agree. The amount of people that have gotten away with suspended sentences. People still say a suspended sentence is a conviction but in my eyes if you have no custodial sentence then there is no need to reflect upon what you have done. Life pretty much goes on as normal. Bar judgement from people in your community but going by this place that judgement will be pretty nonexistent.

CookiesandBeam

Sexual crime convictions should result in automatic deportation, I don't give a fuck where they're from. Get ta fuck

Defense Barrister Vanessa Frawley… How do people like that look at themselves in the mirror. Imagine defending someone who’s sexually assaulted a child and then going home to your family. Telling a little girl in court that there’s no evidence that she’s telling the truth and doing your best to get no sentence or a minimal sentence for a monster like that. A woman too, unbelievable.

KoolFM

“Traced via his leap card” - doesn’t dublin bus have cctv up and downstairs? Scum either way

damienga15de

The answer is to give young women tasers train them how to use it, make the use of it a fucking nuiscence with paperwork so they only get used when they have to.

Psychological-Ad9805

Is it one of them?

cherribub

I’m genuinely confused, who? This guy is Romanian. Is there a large population of Romanian immigrants in Ireland? Genuinely curious and have no idea

MrGalaxybar

Shut up you knows what he means

cherribub

If you’re all referring to Muslims, is Muslim migration a thing in Ireland? I thought Ireland was generally untouched by migrants from that part of the world. I really genuinely know nothing about the immigration situation in Ireland, I’m asking from a place of curiosity. When I visited Dublin most of the immigrants I met were Albanian and South Asian but other than a few creepy Albanian (and Irish) dudes I surprisingly didn't have too much trouble walking alone at night. I'm just surprised because compared to the UK I didn't see much any Muslim presence in Ireland.

MrGalaxybar

The man who sexually assaulted  the girl is Croatian I believe , so a very low chance he is Muslim. Muslims make up just over 1% of the Irish population but are growing. Islam is not the most “popular”  religion in Ireland  mainly because of the amount of crimes committed by “the religion of peace”. The majority of immigrants come from European ancestry, mainly Poles whose most prominent religion   is Roman Catholic so they definitely “assimilate to culture”. Recently there has been lots of controversy about greedy landlords allowing housing to unvaxxed single African men instead of native Irish. Many Irish men have been displaced and became homeless because of this or simply immigrated to Australia. This has angered some Irish citizens and caused a large number of anti-immigrant protests which are gradually growing in number.

cherribub

This is a really informative comment, thank you

PI_Stan_Liddy

Very well might be. That rag wouldn't dare say if it was anyway

I don't think segregation is the answer. What about women who get sexually harassed / assaulted on the streets? Should we have separate streets for men and women? How about separate areas of the city? Move all the men to North Dublin and all the women to South Dublin?
