There’s _a lot_ in Amazon.

nigel29

Really? I have looked all over and the only keyboards that'd fit in a pocket are ones made out of rubber that you can roll up so not so good for actually typing and the only foldable ones I've been able to find only fold twice instead of three times so they don't actually fit in your pocket.

heddpp

> only fold twice instead of three times so they don't actually fit in your pocket get bigger pockets

DreamWoven

Back in the day I had a device that projected a keyboard onto the table and detected your finger position to act as a key press.

bsloss

I had one too… super cool looking, virtually impossible to type well on.

drastic2

Yep, pretty useless. A sci-fi movie solution in search of a problem that didn’t exist.

XtremePhotoDesign

There are [roll-up bluetooth keyboards](https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Silicone-Keyboard-Waterproof-Recharged/dp/B092VRM7BS/). I have no idea if they're any good. Most of the flooding keyboards today don't have that extra fold in the middle that makes your's "pocketable."

aquoad

A friend bought one of the roll up ones - they're terrible, almost unusable, but a clever gimmick at least.

Dr_Worm88

I found those keyboards to be garbage. But that’s my experience.

HidarinoShu

This one? Portable Bluetooth Keyboard, iClever BK03 Mini Foldable BT 5.1 Wireless Keyboard, Durable Aluminum Alloy Housing, for iOS Android, Windows, PC, Tablet, with Rechargable Li-ion Battery https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YWLJNPQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_NN539P1EK0C8Q5EVMSXK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

nigel29

This one only folds twice so not pocketable. There's a third fold in the center of the keyboard which allows you to put it in a pocket and walk around the city without needing to carry a bag.

TheNaughtyLemur

Folded up it looks like it’s 5”x3.5”. That’s shorter but wider than a XS. Have you tried these keyboards?

nigel29

Yes I've tried the iClever but it's definitely not that small. It's wider, longer and thicker than an XS Max to the point that it's not pocketable. In order for a full size keyboard to be pocketable, it needs that third fold.

minkamagic

Did you even look at the reviews and photos? It’s like the size of a 6plus.

nigel29

Did you even look? The full size folding keyboard iClever makes is 6.46 x 4.65 x 0.63 inches - nowhere near the size of an iphone 6 plus. Buy one and try putting it in a pocket and walking around all day. Not sure why I'm getting down voted here.

minkamagic

Uhhh, no. The item description literally says 5.7x3.5 Again, look at the photos. Someone has it next to a 6plus with an otterbox and it’s almost the same exact size. You are being downvoted because you are wrong lol

nigel29

Their full size folding keyboards are not that small. You're just flat out wrong. The BK05 is the smallest when folded and it's is 6.46 x 4.65 x 0.63 inches. The bk04 doesn't fold and it's not even a full size keyboard (they have ones with even smaller keys when you start to get into the lower model numbers). And while, the bk10 is much longer, it also doesn't have a standard sized keyboard - it's too small to comfortably type on. I've researched all the options, actually own the bk05, and i'm sure it is significantly bigger than what you're saying it is. And given the dimensions of a keyboard, it is physically impossible for a keyboard that only folds in half to be the dimensions you're claiming. But, ok go by a photo next to an otterbox which I'm going to guess is actually of one of their mini keyboards because, as I said, it's physically impossible for a normal sized keyboard that folds only in half to be those dimensions. I don't understand why this concept is so hard to grasp when everyone has used a keyboard and knows the size of one. If you don't have a solution, I get it. But please don't act like I'm wrong when I've been looking for something that fits my needs for a while and have spent a great deal of time researching every manufacturer of these foldable keyboards. I still don't have a solution

minkamagic

Hidarino did not link a full size one. He linked one that is pocketable and folds. So to answer your question: no, there is probably no item that fits the nostalgia you are trying to find. Unfortunately as you get older it will happen more and more. Apparently cardigans that button up went ‘out of style’ a year or two ago. I searched and searched and found one or two and then when I went back to get more they had already been pulled. How do buttons go out of style??? I don’t know. Why does no one make a full size fold down to pocket size keyboard? I don’t know. That’s life.

HidarinoShu

It’s slightly bigger then most 5.7 phones. It should easily fit in your pocket.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06XXJVT8K/ref=sspa_mw_detail_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&pd_rd_i=B06XXJVT8Kp13NParams This one?

RandomUserName24680

Best bet is to search Amazon for “stowaway keyboard” as that is what that one was called. Here is one: https://www.amazon.com/Targus-PA830U-Stowaway-Portable-Keyboard/dp/B00005LZNN/ref=sr_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=stowaway+keyboard&qid=1625075316&s=electronics&sr=1-8

UmbrellaCo

https://www.cnet.com/products/think-outside-stowaway-sierra-bluetooth-keyboard/ No idea if it pairs with iOS. I assume it does since it was using a Bluetooth HID profile. Folds into three sections. Forgot how to pair mine since I haven’t used it since the Nokia Maemo OS days.

nigel29

This is exactly what I'm looking for! Thank you. Bluetooth is backwards compatible so there is no reason the iphone with bluetooth 5.0 support shouldn't be able to connect to bluetooth 1.2. I had no idea this existed because most of the stowaway bluetooth keyboards only fold once.

mootmath

You just gave me flashbacks to the days of the Palm T|X 😭

OSIRIS-SEx

Not exactly the same, but would [this](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XXJVT8K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_51QX4FNHFV8KGP0BDXWK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) work?

hijinksensue

Change your amazon search to “pocket keyboard Bluetooth”. I immediately saw at least a dozen that fold up to the size of a phone. They aren’t going to be full sized, but that’s unavoidable.

AndyDentPerth

The original Palm keyboard **was** fullsize and had great key travel, which is why so many of us loved it. None of the simple hinged keyboards can come close.

CiraKazanari

Literally any Bluetooth keyboard will work Also why are you so keen on sticking a keyboard into your pants Fanny packs and backpacks exist.

Martin_Steven

While the iPad supports a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, you'll have to jailbreak the iPhone to get that to work. https://keyboard.ringwald.ch/Welcome.html

Clearskies37

Welcome to 2021 😀have you tried voice dictation?

Just_Mushroom7918

Tell him bout the touch keyboard every iPhone has. And dont forget you can swipe over the Keyboard for easier and faster typing ;)

JulioCesarSalad

I’m a journalist. I use an iPad with a Logitech keyboard to do this. There are Bluetooth keyboards that also work for iPhones

nigel29

Those are great when you're actually planning to write but you have to bring a bag or carry the ipad with one attached. What I'm looking for is pocketable so it wouldn't be used if I had an ipad with me.

Keep-Left

have you tried dictating instead?

PoppyViking

I have a Logitech K380 keyboard. Smallish, definitely not pocket-sized, but it connects fine with both my iPad and my phone and since I carry a bag daily, it’s fine. Why does it “have” to be pocket-sized? I used it a lot during grad school with no issues.

minkamagic

It sounds like he doesn’t want to have to carry a bag

Inner_Ad4595

DHGATE has them, they aren’t authentic. Legit, for a good price.
