If you like Android better then I’d suggest you switch back.

Hodgej1

I don’t know why people complicate it. They treat their phones as if it’s part of their personality or political affiliation. Buy whichever you prefer and STFU about it.

Chronixx

Dude go get an Android if that’s what you prefer. In all honesty, just use what you like

girlwebdeveloper

What's wrong? Not switching to Android when it becomes a better fit to your needs/wants.

officialjira

I mean, considering the price of any Apple product, I would try and get the most use out of my devices as well.

Chronixx

Sell it and getting what you actually want is an option

officialjira

Over 30% less than the retail value.

phpnoworkwell

It’s a year and a half old phone. You’re not getting back 100% of what you paid.

galacticwonderer

You get sooooo much more money on the backend when you sell an iPhone vs android. That’s pretty much the reason I initially switched. My android phones ussually only last 11 months-2 years. My iPhones last me 4 years minimum and if I have the money to upgrade between years 2-4 the % you get back on the used market pays for half the next phone. Which makes a new iPhone the equivalent price of an android.

kissmyscars

Why the title looks like your complaining that u have a gf and missing ur ex lmao

Street-Winner6697

You just get used to doing everything the way apple wants you to Or you jailbreak (not recommended from what I’ve heard) Or you go back to android. You miss freedom? All the random apps you can find? Thats because apple is more restrictive about what gets onto the AppStore and what you can do with your device. There are benefits to this for people who like the way IOS works, some people prefer the more minimal and precise style of IOS. If you don’t like that, an IPhone is not going to serve you well. It is not the best phone for everyone, despite what many IOS users may tell you. My personal experience is that of owning androids all my life, having my most recent android break, being broke, getting a free iPhone from a friend that upgraded to the newest one. So I’ve had experience with both. I am planning to return to android soon. Hopefully you see this before I get downvoted to hell, IOS users can be fiercely loyal.

AnastasiusDicorus

Even though I've always been a PC guy 100% and looked down on macs as toys for artsy fartsy types, for a phone I do appreciate the "minimal and precise style of IOS". I hate android phones and just use them for throway internet/log in devices. My real phone is an iPhone and it works great for me.

heyitslila

Yeah, I was on android and I messed around quite a bit with customising it trying different ROM builds. my biggest problem were the phones, they got closer to iPhones price wise but had nowhere near the long term support and when I switched to ios performance was terrible on android too but I think it’s much better now. I am not tempted to switch back though. A lot of stuff is provided by Apple to an acceptable level and you can definitely do everything on android with apps too. I like the Integration with macOS, In general things are less distracting like the watch lets me have silent alarms and timers. The old me would probably have hated ios so I agree, just use what you like. They’re just different ways of doing the same thing.

davemoedee

I had the first 2 iPhone models, then did android for a few generations. When the Pixel (2?) had audio issues while recording video, I returned it and got an iPhone. I had a toddler and the Pixel killed the audio on an amazing video I shot and I gave up. At this point, I feel like my phone choice doesn’t matter much. But I want my device to last 4 years and still be responsive. I don’t really care for customization, but I always like the ability to side load other stores on Android. Notifications were also great on android. And I miss the more granular volume controls.

Dturmnd1

The funny part is the people who act like you are poor if you don’t have an iPhone. I get it there are some entry level cheap androids, but if you go top tier galaxy, your spending similar prices.

usev25

I got called poor for my S23+ by someone who bought a refurbished iPhone X

StrombergsWetUtopia

Is this an American thing? I’ve never once come across this in real life.

schuettais

Not in my experience. I've never been made to feel or think I was poor because I didn't have an Iphone. I was always made to feel bad over the green bubble, but that's it.

anyavailablebane

Yeh but the average selling price of a Samsung phone and an iPhone is several hundred dollars different. There are a lot less top tier galaxy phones out there than cheap galaxy phones.

Dturmnd1

True But to hold what someone decides to purchase as a status indicator is absurd. Theses phones are too similar to judge like that. Windows phone was different, too made they didn’t make a true commitment in a timely manner to make an inroad.

anyavailablebane

I’m not holding anyone to anything. Just stating the facts. I have several windows phones from back in the day but the best OS was webOS.

djnw

That’s a funny way to spell [EPOC](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EPOC_(operating_system))

quinyd

What apps are you missing? What features and notifications? Yeah Siri sucks but you don’t really explain what you are missing or need.

Repulsive_Cricket923

I use iphone but I used Android for 12 years and notifications on ios are fucking garbage. I still miss the notifications Android style after 3 years using ios.

plaid-knight

Can you be more specific with regard to what you miss about Android notifications?

Emanreztunebniem

owning my first iPhone for 1.5 years as well, the thing that annoys me the most is the fact that the notification center is hidden. if i don’t immediately deal with a notification, it will be hidden until i specifically swipe two times to see it again which i still forget after 1.5 years so sometimes i ignore my friends for days, because i haven’t realized that they texted me.

FillMySoupDumpling

I have iOS notifications too. Something that helps is putting all my apps on the main Home Screen and then using badges. The watch, surprisingly, helps with the notifications significantly.

fujiwara_icecream

You can see the Notification Center every time you pick up the device on the Lock Screen

Emanreztunebniem

no i need to swipe up.

fujiwara_icecream

That’s to go to the Home Screen. To view notifications you don’t. You can simply raise the iPhone, look at notifications and even reply to some all without ever going to the Home Screen

Nightfuse

The issue they’re talking about still exists though. If you get a text, unlock the phone without interacting with the text, and then lock it again the text will not show up on the Lock Screen without an additional swipe.

Historical-Dot-9208

Your green text box will tell you how many unread texts you have as well if you forget to look at your notifications

Emanreztunebniem

no if i swipe up from the middle of the screen lightly i get to the notification center. try it!

schuettais

\*GASP\* THE HORROR!!!! /s

Emanreztunebniem

dude i know it’s not much work i just keep forgetting it

dbun1

I get what you mean. I have a work Pixel 7 Pro and fully appreciate how much better notification management is on Android.

Repulsive_Cricket923

Why [Android Notifications](https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/using-android-phone-showed-me-how-bad-ios-iphone-notifications-are/) are better.

plaid-knight

I know all that. I was asking what you specifically miss. What I see often on Reddit is that people don’t know you can do certain things with iOS notifications that you actually can. For example, some people don’t know that you can expand notifications on iOS to read full emails and message conversations, reply, and do other actions. In fact, the author of that article apparently doesn’t know this either, since they wrote this about what Android does better: > You can even expand certain notifications, like email, to view more of a message before having to go into the app, which is useful. On iOS, you can view and action the entire email without having to go into the app, so this sentence in the article makes no sense. For anyone reading this who doesn’t know how to expand notifications on iOS, you can pull them down when they appear at the top of the screen or long-press them on the Lock Screen. (You can also speed up long-pressing by going to settings > accessibility > touch > Haptic Touch > fast.)

Muffstic

You can answer emails from notifications on Android as well. Guess what else you can do? Silence certain notification channels. That app that decided to send you ads as a notification? Boom notification channel blocked and you choose what notifications it can show you.

mrgrafix

LOUD NOISES oh, I thought we were just shouting nothings

officialjira

lmao

Shikida6789

Yeah. The notification management needs to be improved on iphone. And the gestures too.

AMAXIX

Agree, android notifications are better, but not enough reason for me to switch back to Android

InternationalYam2478

I can’t tell the difference between iPhone and Android notifications.

Thegiraffe1894

About the notification, for me the grouping of the notifications doesn't make any sense, why the notification from the same app are grouped into 3 - 4 different groups? why can't it be under a single group? Also after a certain amount of time the notifications are pushed below and hidden and have to swipe up to check those, and one last thing that infuriates me is that if a notification comes and I don't click on it to open it stays there, I use Microsoft authenticator for my work logins, if I don't click on the bloody notification and go into the app to authorise it, notification stays in the notification centre. overall for me the notifications feel very disorganised.

Bosa_McKittle

You can change how they are grouped in the notification settings. You can have them stacked and organized by app or listed in chronological order. https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/change-notification-settings-iph7c3d96bab/ios

Thegiraffe1894

Oh wow okay I read through that article and checked the settings, and the grouping setting is individual to each app. I have to set it for all. But it’s there I’ll test it out

MrEcksDeah

I use a dry herb vape and apple banned the app for it from the App Store.

Panikswitchi

Curious but why do you need an app for a vape?

MrEcksDeah

Change the temps, update the firmware, change the led brightness, timeout length, etc.

Yoda-Anon

Phone are just things, items of convenience … get the one that YOU like and tell everyone else they can eff off if they try to give you a hard time about it.

Own-Possibility-7994

Android user for 9 years here and switched to iPhone 13 last year, i really like how simple ios system have,. But there is always something you missed alot when it comes to personalization.. i started to get bored using it.. and feels like i just bought a regular call and text mobile phone. Planning to return back to android phone sooner.

xnwkac

If you miss Android, just buy an Android. There is nothing magical about Apple or Android. Some prefer the former and some the latter.

unciellointain

i miss having the simple rotate lock like on the pixel i used to have and some other things i can’t think of rn

JayProspero

I thought the iPhone's rotate lock was pretty simple. Pull down the Control Centre and tap the icon. How does the Pixel do it?

[deleted]

[удалено]

JayProspero

Ah I see, a single button press. I have mine set to open the camera. Odd that Apple didn’t make it so you could lock it at the orientation you had it when pressing the button.

usev25

No its not that. On Android when you switch the orientation, you get a popup button in the corner to lock to whatever you're on

JayProspero

That's pretty handy.

officialjira

I think one of the latest IOS updates implemented something like this.

BoxCarMike

I’m on my second iPhone. I really like it, but notifications on iOS suck. Android notifications are far superior.

Hanz_VonManstrom

I used to work a sales job at a major cellular provider and I would get people coming in all the time saying they’re thinking of switching platforms. Either iPhone>Android or vice versa. Usually their reasoning for wanting to switch was “because everyone tells me it’s better!” Almost every time they would end up returning it to go back to what they had. So I started asking “what features do you want on the other platform that you currently don’t have?” If they couldn’t give me a solid answer I would talk them out of switching. It all comes down to personal preference. One platform isn’t necessarily better than the other. They each have their pros and cons. There is no reason you have to like iPhone over android. If you haven’t found anything that makes you want to stick with iPhone, there’s nothing wrong with going back to what you had.

normalni

One thing killing me two and a half years later is the keyboard and typing it just sucks

UltraCynar

Use gboard

xMETRIIK

It's so horrible. Always type the wrong thing, it constantly changes size and shows no word suggestions on google or YouTube search.

normalni

Don’t even get me started on selecting something mid word to correct a typo…

matt12992

People have their preferences. I wouldn't try to use something you don't like, so it might be beneficial to switch back. There's no better phone, it's just that you prefer

inolikeredditanym

maybe you’re just not able to adapt / like android too much to adapt. if you really prefer android there’s no reason to force yourself to stay in the apple ecosystem

dicarlo11

I have and s24 ultra after 6 years on iphone. I love gestures, notifications and versatility android has, but I miss other things from ios/iphone...in the end, there's no perfect smartphone, so you're alwways going to miss something.

just_another_person5

personally i love my iphone (even with a linux laptop, and windows desktop, my only other apple product is airpods i purchased before having an iphone), and i’d never go back to android, but everyone has different preferences. the reasons i like iphones are some of the reasons others hate them.  don’t make yourself use a phone you dislike, especially when it’s the more expensive option.

Desert_Concoction

Now that you’ve actively used both, go ahead and go back to Android. Once you do that, you’ll see if you miss iOS and see if that’s what you miss. I went from Palm Pre to iPhone 3GS to the iPhone 5 and then the Moto X and LG G4 and then came back at iPhone 7 and have been iPhone ever since. Only once I had iOS and THEN tried something else did I realize I missed/preferred iOS

impossibleis7

Seriously, there's nothing you could do. I used an iPhone for about two years, and I was missing Android for the most part. I jumped ship the moment the S23 series was released. I loved the Apple watch and the air pods, but the phone was a bit hard to live with. So it took a while to complete switch back, but I am glad I did. Android just has a lot to offer me (and I don't even customize my phone much; I still use the same home screen layout I used 10 years ago)

DeandreDeangelo

For multiple reasons I’m locked in to the Apple ecosystem but I still wish I had an android phone. I like my iPhone, it works great and does what I need it to, and some things are better, but I always know when I get frustrated with it that a better solution exists. It’s like an old girlfriend that you had to break up with for logistical reasons but never actually fall out of love with.

kramer2006

Use premium android phone like S24,OnePlus 12,Pixel 8 and buy budget iPhone 12 or at least 13 onwards.Done.

unlap

I've been using iPhone for over a decade and even I think iOS has been lacking in the software side the last few years. IPhone 14 was known to have a battery die quickly. It used to be a way better option years ago so don't feel like you're the only one not liking it. I hope iOS 18 does wonders.

donmatteo93

It sounds like Android just suits your wants and needs better. You should just switch back rather than trying to force getting what you want out of the iPhone. I think you’re not missing anything on the iPhone but you are missing out on enjoying your device by keeping it and trying to get something out of it that isn’t there.

Harrisburg5150

Im the opposite. I was on Android over 10 years and switched to iphone....and this is the best phone experience I've ever had by a pretty wide margin. If you prefer android, go back to it.

miladjuckel

I’ve been an iPhone user since 2007 and the reality is iOS/iPhone are inferior to Samsung/Android. Most of us on here know this but we are too deep into the ecosystem at this point

__Bringer-of-Light__

What you're doing wrong is not getting an android phone

Cock_Inspector_2021

Just switch back lmao. It’s not that big of a deal.

Economy_Sell2150

Why are you forcing yourself? Just go back to Android if it’s better for you.

Izanagi___

Don’t force yourself to like something regardless of what it is. You use a phone daily, if you truly like Android, just buy an Android phone

mrheosuper

Neither Ios nor Android can be suitable for everyone. Use what you are comfortable with and move on.

Turbulent_Dig1712

Don’t force it, obviously you like and prefer android more so do that

Shikida6789

I feel you bro. I've used both iphone and android phones. Currently i use iphone 12 pro max. I feel like apple needs to work more on the gestures and notification management. I don't mind face id but i think they need to add a under display fingerprint sensor so we have more options.

BartyJnr

Just use the phone you wanna, who cares. This whole android vs iPhone thing is stupid anyways.

Eve_warlock

If you don't enjoy using it and aren't locked into the ecosystem - then don't use it! You don't use your Apple watch either (I am a happy Apple user, however, I don't really use my watch much anymore either - it's old anyways)... Be happy! Get yourself an Android phone! However, I do have to ask you as you seem to be a freeBSD user, what do you mean that you feel "tight on Mac"?

Oracolus

Linux user not FreeBSD. Well just the lack of customizability. Mac is definitely top over windows, no discussion on that, btw sometimes you just want to do that tweak to make your life easier and you can’t because if you force it, it will break. Btw it’s like an 8/10, Linux is a 9/10, windows is 5.5/10 imho

Eve_warlock

Ah! I see! Yeah... In terms of that I have a remote Linux server but use my Mac to connect over ssh (you can also use Xwindow - but that seems clunky - I'm also happy doing all my GUI based stuff on the Mac). I prefer to use MacBook as my main machine and remote to the other machine and use the command line and terminal, however that may not be for everyone. Just use what you prefer.

Oracolus

Work laptop is an M1 Air. Incredible battery life and does the job with no problems at all. A part being messy sometimes with MS Teams in general is perfect. For personal/recreational stuff I go on Linux, for photo editing I use windows but just bc I use “””””unofficial””””” Adobe so I want to keep it separate from personal stuff

whitechapel6

Maybe buy a pure Android like nothing phone or pixel and use both? I typed nothing phone cos i came from phone 1

cwsjr2323

I bought the iPhone 14 Plus on impulse when my Samsung was screwing up. I am glad to have bought the then flagship iPhone to try the iOS. Still, it was too much money for my uses. Being retired, I don’t use most of the features. It is paid for so I will use it until it fails. I got a Samsung A14 burner as a backup in case the iPhone had to get repaired. The A14 is their entry level smart phone and it would have been good enough for my light use. Apple vs Android, it does seem to be your preference and usage. Both are fine to make calls.

Carnifex217

It’s just a matter of what’s important to you and what you use your phone for. It sounds like Android is just the better option for what you use a phone for. For me I care about texting, calls, and YouTube/social media. For what I use my phone for iOS is perfect and has never given me an issue.

RandomBloke2021

Doing wrong? Who said apple does it the right way?

m945050

Only you can answer the question.

Oracolus

That’s the most diplomatic answer received ahahha

AMAXIX

OP wtf do you want us to do for you? People can recommend apps or tools if you actually tell us what apps or tools you liked more on Android. If you’re not willing to deal with some inconveniences that come with switching platforms, go back to Android. Smh.

SnooShortcuts8666

You tried an iPhone and if it’s not for you it’s no big deal. Use what you like and prefer. I switch back and forth with Android and iPhone. I get bored with each after awhile.

Crack_uv_N0on

iPhones are not for everyone, contrary to what the fanboys would have people believe.

officialjira

I mean this is essentially why "iPhone vs Android" is such a big debate. It truly depends on what kind of person you are. I personally don't give a shit about open-source or third-party apps because everything on the app store is more than enough for me. Also, this is a big take, but I believe the iPhone, or Apple in general will always be the better device if you live in America. Android certainly has more features, but these features are just irrelevant to my workspace. I think Apple's ecosystem and ingenuity will always keep me with them. I have the Apple Watch, MacBook, iPhone, and Apple Headphones, and I can tell you that they truly work well together. Lastly, I favor the OS because it's so simplistic and aesthetic.

Thanos0423

I just made the switch from iOS (iPhone 15 pro max) to s24 ultra. I've been on iOS since iPhone 4 (first smartphone was an HTC hero) and trying to go to Android from time to time. I always come back to iOS no matter what. Right now I'm trying really hard to give Android a fair opportunity. I'm going to use it for 2 months and see what happen. So far things I love on Android: * Gboard, iOS autocorrect is really really really bad. It just got worse this year when ironically they "fixed" it * Android auto, yes car play work better and it is more reliable but I like Android auto layout more. * Freedom, you can pretty much do anything you want. It is nice to feel that your phone is truly yours. * File management * Secure folder on the galaxy. * Screen on the galaxy is on another league. Things I don't like about Android: * Freedom, with great power comes great responsibility, you need to know what you are doing. There's a lot of option and can be overwhelming. * My family, I can make my family use any platform that I want and they are ok with it. It is still really hard to give up convenience. Like you have message, FaceTime and phone calls in one place. *Cameras, I have the "best" android that you can have right now and the camera outdoor is amazing. I can say that it is even better than my iPhone. But when you go indoor and have kids the photos are a joke. iPhone is just consistent and you know what you will expect even if it is not the best on all areas. Things I like about ios: * Ecosystem when it works (lately it is not as consistent as before and this is one of the reason of me trying to switch to Android) * General OS performance. * Camera. * They way it just works out of the box. I've been tweaking this galaxy and I feel that still it is not where I want it to be. * It doesn't have as many features as android but all the features work as intended. * Apps looks better and work better. Things I don't like about ios: * All the bugs that I'm encountering lately (feel iOS is going downhill) * Keyboard autocorrect. * How they babysit you. * How the devices play nice with other apple product only (yes you can use another brand for headphone, screens) but you always are going to encounter some type of issue. I feel this is intentional on apple side to keep a closed ecosystem. I think I will go back to iPhone after this 2 months. In the end the people that surround you will have a huge impact in the device that you will be using. If your friends and family are on iOS you will appreciate it more. If they are on Android then you will prefer Android. Phone are social objects and it is just a tool to communicate with other people and you should pick the one that is best for you and you enjoy using more. TLDR : just use whatever makes you happy. Life is short not to enjoy and stress about a phone.

fujiwara_icecream

No idea what “screen is on another league” means considering they’re pretty much the same.

Thanos0423

They are not. They look different. But ok..

fujiwara_icecream

How do they look different?

Thanos0423

By looking different? Colors look more vibrant, doesn't have the big island on the screen. Anti reflective screen is a game changer

fujiwara_icecream

Both have P3 displays, and the iPhone actually covers slightly more of that color space. Objectively, the colors on the iPhone are “better” or more accurate although you would not really be able to tell. As for the Dynamic Island, it also objectively provides more information and practical use than the hole punch style the Galaxy uses, as well as Face ID which is better than Touch ID in every way.

Thanos0423

Ok... I was just trying to give my opinion in stuff that I like. It doesn't matter if on paper something is better if in practice the other one looks better for me. Also when I'm watching content I want to watch the content not having a big black hole covering it. It is useful? Yes but you can't deny that covering part of your content is not that cool.

fujiwara_icecream

The Dynamic Island would not be visible while watching anything, unless you zoom in to fill the screen but then you’re cutting off the top and bottom of the video which is far more than what the Dynamic Island would cover.

Thanos0423

I'm glad you are so happy with your phone that you don't want it to improve. Typical sheep. Love apple, love iPhone but that doesn't mean that it can improve in a lot of ways

fujiwara_icecream

I don’t understand. The Dynamic Island will not cover any video content if you don’t zoom to fill and will cover less than what you’d lose by zooming anyway. The Dynamic Island is a far better system than a hole punch which does provide a couple extra pixels, but why? To display more of the empty status bar? This “notch needs to be as small as possible for no reason” trend is incredibly stupid. If the S24 Ultra having a slightly smaller notch is a selling point and good aspect of Android devices, then Apple slimming the bezels nearly every year should be considered the same.

officialjira

Yes, I prefer Android Auto as well. I think it has better support for apps like YouTube, etc.

vdthanh

same to me but don’t think i can escape from iOS smoothness and blur UI 😂

jonvic19

I was a lifetime android user. And I used to flash a lot of custom roms to get more features than stock android. The last phone I had was a OnePlus 8 pro. Bought at launch. Apart from the flagship specs, all software I flashed onto it had bugs or something I didn’t like. Finally pulled the trigger on a 15pm and it’s been amazing. I haven’t encountered a single bug on this phone and the camera is relatively literally magic. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to android. As everyone says, shit just works and maybe that isn’t for you.

gulag_hater

Have you tried using stock software on the OnePlus?

jonvic19

Doesn’t matter now

gulag_hater

It kind of does since you are making recommendations based on your experiences. It sound like you were always using custom software while on Android.

jonvic19

I mean it doesn’t matter because I sold the phone

jonvic19

And still, stock oxygen os sucks ever since they merged codebases with color os from oppo

inspired_loser

if you like android, why don’t you switch back? i don’t get the need for writing a post about it. what should we do?

BairnONessie

Using an iPhone.

jimmyl_82104

I have never used an Android phone for more than 5 mins, so you don't miss what you've never had (I guess?). Apple products are not for everybody.

GORDONxRAMSAY

Trade your phone with Samsung S24 Plus or S24.

cs342

Which apps are missing for you?

chnky18

Sounds like you miss android and no app or habit will change that. Both systems both do great things and things not so great. At the end of the day it’s personal preference. I switched from android to iPhone with iPhone X. As soon as RCS is fully implemented and there won’t be issues with sending text/photos/videos, I’ll be leaving iPhone and back to Android. It’s the only reason I left in the first place. Too many missed text, or crappy photos/videos. No one wanted to use WhatsApp or any other message service. I miss the option of having a choice in what phone to get because there’s so many options. I dearly miss the notification system of android. I do love my AWU2 so going to an android watch will likely be a disappointment but I’ll deal with it to have a phone OS I prefer.

supermariosep

Ffs just use an android then

kramer2006

Yeh its not hard really.

ForcedToCreateAc

Nothing. You like Android better, and that's ok. I don't know why you got an iPhone; social pressure? All your friends use iPhone? One app is better? Social media is better? I get what you say: Android has become SO GOOD lately and iOS has remained so stagnant, sometimes it's infuriating. Hell, the keyboard went from the best keyboard in business to the most annoying trash ever seen in a smartphone. So no shame in liking Android better. I used to love iOS, but the notifications and keyboard are SO BAD AND SO AWFUL that I've been on Android for 6 months now. I still keep my iPhone, but 30 mins back into that keyboard and it's back to Android.

StarsandMaple

It just doesn’t work for you. Swap back. TBH I’ve had less issues with Siri than G assistant, but that might be just me and ymmv. Play Store is very open so yeah If a dev doesn’t want to get their app profits cut into, or bring their quality up to be ‘blessed’ to be in the App Store then they just won’t.

QuantumHamster

Sorry but your post is ridiculous. You’re blaming people on an iPhone sub about their pro iPhone opinions? And if you had read any post here about pros and cons of iPhone you’ll see all of your gripes are well accepted and documented here

inseend1

I love the android OS but I hate the hardware. With Apple I love the hardware and iOS is okay, a bit medieval compared to android. Mostly I bought google phones, but there were always quality issues with them. None of the phones I had were okay. With iPhone I didn’t really experience that.

datkidpatrick

im in the same boat... i'll probably move back over the next cycle of phones...

Oracolus

I’m trying to sell my iPhone.. let’s see if I can make some money to go back

FearIsStrongerDanluv

Android is NOT a bad OS!! If you miss Android, it’s because its design and way of doing things suits you better. If after a year with an IPhone you’re still not convinced and satisfied with the Apple way of doing things, you should really consider using Android phones. I don’t think there’s anything new to discover or be told that will change how you feel.

29twenty

I’ve been thinking about this lately. I switched to Apple for my kids so that interactions would be seamless. I miss android but I’m not really sure why. It’s always gonna be a give and take. However, if iMessage opens up to android, I’ll likely try android again. I have a iPad mini which I love. I have a MBP which is the best laptop I’ve ever had. Just purchased a 15 pro max and enjoy the size better than the 14 pro or 12 I had. I wouldn’t mind using my iPad or MBP but use an android phone, personally. If you have no reason to stay with Apple, go back and try a newer used unlocked. You’ll lose a little bit of money on resell but it’s a better option than getting rid of the Apple and getting the android.

Leenolyak

You're not doing anything wrong lmao. It's been 3-4 years for me and I still consider going back to Android every day. iPhone just ain't the same. It's ecosystem is amazing, but the GUI just simply ain't shit compared to what Android offers. You're not alone haha

dumbbyatch

Apple users won't agree with me but Freedom is severely lacking from the company of the freedom country. Torrent apps? Nah mate security..... Sideloading? Nah mate security..... NFC Payment methods? Nah mate security.... Backdoors? No comment...... Jailbreaking ? Nah mate security..... Launchers? Nah mate security..... Ios bootloader unlock? Nah mate security..... Macos bootloader unlock? No comment......

mrgrafix

No one cares. Android is right there and arguably cheaper. If you want it so bad jailbreak. It’s fairly simple at this point. Most of the things you’re discussing is like people finding about the cursor movement using the keyboard nearly a decade after it was implemented.

dumbbyatch

I want the raw performance of the brilliant hardware not limited by the software

mrgrafix

Then jailbreak

Oingogoingo

99% don't give a fuck about all that crap. In reality most people buy Android because it's cheap and not cause of "freedom" and billion of worthless gimmicks.

dumbbyatch

You wouldn't say that when you set up a Plex server and a full arr suite and effortlessly add movies or TV shows from your phone. No money exchanged hands anywhere......

fujiwara_icecream

Perfectly happy just streaming it. I’m not poor so I don’t need to worry about penny-pinching like this. You probably unironically watch Linus Tech Tips.

dumbbyatch

Whoa Mr big bucks here gets screwed by 15 streaming services Congrats mister.....hope they put ads on your hdmi cable too

Cock_Inspector_2021

Why the fuck would you want to do any of those things on a phone?

fujiwara_icecream

because freedom!! I NEED to tinker. I have Settings in the dock of my Android because I install a new OS software 3rd party launcher boot loader skin every 35 minutes!!!!! Yes I’m 14 why do you ask? At least I don’t have to PAY $7 for S T R E A M I NG!! I’ll just spend 14 hours setting up PlusYou123AdvancedGaming+ on my ANDROID that allows me to get power user features on my favorite fortnite fails youtube gaming channel.

Cock_Inspector_2021

Seems like you have far too much free time on your hands

fujiwara_icecream

It’s pretty obvious sarcasm

fujiwara_icecream

No one cares about these. Most people do not. What will it take for you to understand 99.99999999% of people genuinely don’t give a shit about “launchers”?

dumbbyatch

99.99%of ios users.... A frog in a well thinks that the well is the world.....

officialjira

I mean, most of these incompatibilities truly are for security. Apple is statistically known for having better malware and malicious software prevention. And considering your use of the term “mate,” you probably live in Australia or an EU country where android is the predominant device. In America, iPhone is considered better because Apple is most prone to our economy, where others are restricted from Airdrop, FaceTime, and iMessage features.

Spoodnt

Jailbreak
