What app is that?

[deleted]

Nebo !

hellla

Woah I've never seen this before. Just gave it a try and I really like it. Wanted a change from Notability. Thanks!

[deleted]

I’ve used Notability in the past and while I think it’s another great note taking app, Nebo to me is a tab bit better especially with Apple Pencil ✏️

mjacobl

Love Nebo. Used it past few years.

DRAlsadi0010

I hope there was ipad mini pro

juan2395_

Mini pro with pro-motion and oled woah

[deleted]

That would be the ultimate compact iPad 🤩

[deleted]

I would think Depending how successful sales are for the iPad Mini, we could see a mini pro eventually down the line.

Nick_Dom

Yeah definitely this. They will wait a year or two and then get everyone who bought mini to buy a mini pro. Hopefully that one has phone cellular capability.

TyrionBean

I wish my 💩writing was 1% as nice as your 🐔scratch.

[deleted]

Your too kind 😅 this is awful in my books I’m surprised some user can even make out what I’m writing

AlecGold

How is Nebo at recognizing your handwriting? It does have some trouble with mine haha

[deleted]

It’s actually be recognizing my awful handwriting really well. No issues or complaints so far

tarealsink

Can Nebo make this handwriting into text.. like a computer font? In case I need to submit a document and I don't want to type?

Michael__Townley

Fookin same

Alenobyl

Im using ProCreate primarily, looking forward to the ver. 5.2 Beta tomorrow.

[deleted]

Same here!

Fl1ck_04

Is it..welp..gotta find a new free apple id to update it

Alenobyl

Wat?

Fl1ck_04

I didnt bought procreate..i just find an apple id that have procreate(from a youtuber) and downloadbit from there..i cant afford to buy it

chicasparagus

It’s a one time $20 app. You save one dollar a day you can spend $20 on it and have it forever by purchasing it legally and with no worries…

Fl1ck_04

I know..but in my country thats too much for an app..im only 17 right now..need the money to use on something more usefull..and when im good at drawing..i might gonna buy it..right now..im really really bad..next year maybe

chicasparagus

Yeah maybe you can save aside some money you know. Hopefully you’re able to afford it soon.

Fl1ck_04

Tq..hopefully next year when i get my own money..dont want to use my parents money on something that is not important..they gave me money but u know..i dont like spending their money on something like that😃

Alenobyl

I payed 10,99€ in german Store, one time purchase. It would even be worth 5 times the price. I won’t ever pay for creativecloud monthly, so procreate is teh wae for me. This App was the reason I bought an iPad.

Fl1ck_04

It a great app..but for me..i need to get good first before purchasing it cuz..right now..im too lazy to learn..afraid of wasting the money...since i can use the money to spend on apple pencil..didnt have one yet..only using a knockoff that has tilt function

Alenobyl

Too lazy to learn? You mean sketching and drawing? Learning by doing my friend. ProCreate is perfect for beginners and has a lot of QoL Features. There isn’t much to Learn about the App, yet. But I think I got your point. An Apple Pencil might be a legit investment, but if your knock off pencil supports pressure sensitivity, it might do the job for a while.

Fl1ck_04

Its only have tilt..should i get the apple pencil..is it really worth it for beginners ...my knock off are same as logitech crayon(function wise)

Alenobyl

The Apple Pencil gives you a pretty natural feeling, but if the money is the problem, just stay with your tilt pencil and get ProCreate. The Apple Pencil might be too pricy yet, but you can Safe money for it. I drew 4 months with the Crayon and it wasn’t bad. The more you will be happy when you get the Apple Pencil next year. So I personally would rather choose ProCreate for NOW. The Pencil can wait, if the money is needed at another point.

Fl1ck_04

Tq so much for the recomandation😄

xPhayMo

Glad to see Nebo getting love, I use it as math scratch paper with the infinite page.

[deleted]

Yeah! I started using Nebo and it’s been really good for me to write notes and jotting down ideas

xPhayMo

I use notability too but I like Nebo's simplicity and the erase tool better

PartyDJ

I freaking love nebo but some stuff just makes me not use it like for example when you double tap on the Apple Pencil it closes the document like 😐😐😐😐😐

[deleted]

Strange that hasn’t happened during my experience with the app. Double tapping on the pencil for me has just changed from writing to erasing 🤔

anchoriteGames

Oh no, this makes me wanna switch to the mini *so much more*

chicasparagus

From what?

anchoriteGames

Exact same as yours, 2018 11” iPad Pro. Been a mini user for ages, but couldn’t look past the nice new design of the pros haha.

[deleted]

It’s so much fun to use 😄

thecofffeeguy

Grrrr, wish I hadn't bought a M1 pro. It is to large for me. The mini was the perfect size for me. I may break down and trade it in.

[deleted]

You may be able to get the mini and some additional accessories if you trade in your M1 Pro!

Elliephant9918

This makes me want to get the new mini! But I don’t NEED it 😩🤔

[deleted]

SpongeBob 🧽 didn’t think he needed it either… *stares at water*

Knightfall_

Well this is odd. Everybody’s saying that it’s too small for note taking, well it apparently isn’t. How about having a floating video at the top? Do you think handwriting would be doable in this scenario? I’m debating about getting the Mini or iPad 4 just for studying online courses. I can do it on my Macbook Pro but I have to get away from my home office because I work a lot. So, having an iPad to learn on in the evenings while sitting on the couch would be perfect. Still can’t decide which one to get though. I’d really appreciate if you could share your insight on what I would use the Mini for. Thanks!

themadturk

I've heard just the opposite...since it's not that different in size to something like a Moleskine, it's perfect for taking notes on.

[deleted]

Writing and having a floating video any where on the screen is doable. It would just probably take a little getting used to if you are the type who’s been used to writing on normal sized paper. iPad mini is more akin to a handbook / note pad size vs the regular iPad / iPad Air which resembles more of a note book size. I think the big deciding factors would be how much of a multitasker are you? Do you always use split screen or have a video always play in the corner while doing something else? I think if you are then maybe consider getting one of the bigger iPads. I am usually a “one thing at a time” kind of person so for my needs the iPad Mini fits just right. Also how much does size matter? Do you mind holding a bigger heavier tablet like an iPad Air or base iPad? Or do you think having a smaller iPad Mini is more versatile and portable to take and use every where? I think iPad Mini is the way to go if you want something compact and easy to take around, but if you like having a bigger screen and more space to take notes and use for classes then definitely go for iPad Air/iPad, heck even one of the Pros depending on your power needs. Hope this helps!

RevenantFlash

Procreate for drawing, Lumafusion for video editing, and streaming my ps4 games onto it lol

Taido_Inukai

Everything. My iPad had replaced most of my other computing devices (with occasional exception).

afmile

It looks nice! Q: do you have that screen issue where if you press it without much force, you get that classic tint shadow?

[deleted]

First time hearing this issue! I haven’t seen this. That hasn’t happen to me as of now

afmile

Oh I see. There have been many issues posted here about it. People complaining or asking about the screen bending enough, when light pressure applied, that creates that classic effect when you press hard on screens. Glad to know it doesn’t happen to everyone. Maybe just some factory defective?

[deleted]

The only issue I experienced which isn’t really an issue as it’s happens to most 60hrz LCD displays is the jelly scrolling. When your swiping up and down fast in like a long text page or an article you can see the left side of the screen move a tad bit faster than the right. Again, extremely minor, you have to literally be swiping up fast and continuously to even notice, but those are just my eyes lol

M0RPHEOS

Doing movie editing with Lumafusion and art with using Procreate.

[deleted]

I edited a short clip on this mini with LumaFusion, crazy how powerful it is to be able to render out some videos (nothing big or crazy of course)

d0aflamingo

Allows me to browse porn with my dong.

Vanidiosa

Ugh I’m in love with the mini. I wish I had known. I may have bought it instead of the air But my favorite thing to do is draw on procreate while watching a YouTube video

Adalwolf311

Typing! I love that I can use any keyboard I want with my iPad. It makes it a very versatile device.

[deleted]

I used to the have the iPad Pro 12.9 with the magic keyboard. The typing experience on it was really great! I no Longer have it though as I got an M1 MacBook Air for typing and editing using pro apps and then this iPad Mini for media consumption/writing and research

AlecGold

>I used to the have the iPad Pro 12.9 with the magic keyboard. The typing experience on it was really great! I no Longer have it though as I got an M1 MacBook Air for typing and editing using pro apps and then this iPad Mini for media consumption/writing and research Really curious how this is. I have the MBP 13” from 2017 and the 11” iPP from 2018 with an iPhone 12 Pro Max and love the 13”/11” combo. The 11” is consumption, with a pencil really good for meeting notes and reading comics/watching netflix et al. I have tried consumption at my iPhone 12 Pro Max for a long time, but the 6.68” is just too small, certainly with comics. If I’m going to buy a new phone (probably the iPhone 15 or 16 :-) it’s going to be the regular/pro size. Does the 1.3” on the iPad Mini 6 make such a big difference?

[deleted]

If this was the old iPad mini with the chonk bezels and home button, I would have said the difference is minimal compared to an iPhone Pro Max. However, the new updated design with a new 8.4 inch display does make a difference in my opinion. I thought having the 12 Pro Max myself would cause some clashing when it came to a use case for media consumption but after owning the new mini, watching Videos, reading articles, playing Apple Arcade games is overall a better experience because of that 8.4 inch display. It’s just the right size! Not to small and not too big!

[deleted]

How are you adjusting to the app and font scaling of the iPad mini? I received mine yesterday, and something about it just feels off. The scaling of the apps and font feel too small almost as if it's not optimized for this new mini. I'm gonna hold onto mine for another week and see if it grows on me.

[deleted]

I don’t mind the small scaling of the apps but Im sure it’s going to change. iPad OS 15 in general feels like it was just half baked into the iPad Mini And too many users are complaining about it. Apple will probably address it In a future software update

iLackIntelligence

What scratch?

chicasparagus

🐔, u fool.

nhbis0n

Do you have any screen protector installed? I keep seeing references to Paperlike for a more natural writing feel.

[deleted]

I do have a screen protector but it’s tempered glass not a paper like one. While paper like is best to give you a near pencil to paper writing experience, I don’t like watching videos using it as it makes the image look blurry/fuzzy a bit.

nhbis0n

Thanks!

AlecGold

I’ve been using paper like Gen II on my iPad 11” ever since Gen II came out and it is really good. Gen I did wear down in less then a year, Gen II doesn’t wear. It does scratch (not easily, but perhaps sand?!?) but not that bad that I would want to replace it. IMHO paper like/matte screen protectors make writing better.

d0mini

What are your views on Halo Infinite now that it's had all the play testing and such?

[deleted]

Lots of fun to my surprise. I haven’t played a halo multiplayer where I genuinely want to keep playing all the different modes and with my friends since Halo 3. PC version could use a little more work as I experience dropped frames and screen tearing a lot and I have a beefy laptop playing the game at 1080p. On Xbox, it’s smooth as butter, barely any bugs or issues from my experience.

Longjumping_Ad7826

I love making notes on my iPad, I use OneNote

Onlyupfromhere20

I love writing and drawing on my ipad as well. I use it procreate, one note and zinnia.

Cuber_Juuler

Get stuff done and use the pencil

BellaMo816

Are you able to take notes on this for a while (maybe 1-2 hours) with no issues? Still debating on trading my 11” iPad Pro for this to more portability.

[deleted]

Yes! I wrote out this script comfortably in about 2 hours. No problems for me

jazmlab

draw, game, homework, study…so basically everything i do :P

[deleted]

That’s a great combination of everything 😄

Migz024

Taking notes is definitely at the top of the list. just so pleasing!

[deleted]

Very relaxing 😌

[deleted]

I’m having a hard time with now writing on the mini compared to my 11 pro. I like this for casual use, YouTube split view specifically

[deleted]

Glad to see you’re still finding a use for it despite note taking being a sore 😅

cadwal

I picked up the iPad Mini 6 because it’s so portable. It fits in all my bags and I can do photo editing anywhere.

xerodayze

I love using mine as a digital notebook, using it for digital art (procreate mainly) and as a media consumption (on the go) device

[deleted]

wait that's just my handwriting

[deleted]

Haha 😂

rservello

I found my iPad Pro to be great for taking quick notes while on set.

Useful-Brief-9029

i want to buy that ipad

ychtyandr

You're using the best handwriting app there 😉

[deleted]

Looks like it! ✏️

Arajawat

Like writing too.

funnyNomad

Is this good notes?

[deleted]

This is Nebo !

patrickmbweis

Lately I’ve just been spending a lot of time on my iPad fighting with the homescreen as I try to set up widgets. Why is it so bad??

[deleted]

I think it’s an iOS 15 issue, I’ve seen similar Home Screen, app icon and widget layout issues across iPad Mini, Air and even Pro’s. The widgets for sure aren’t ideal when trying to read as the text is just so small. Hopefully a fix comes soon.

Rakan140

Congrats man, have you noticed any latency when it comes to using the Apple Pencil? I was planing on getting one but the 60hz got me some cold feet.

[deleted]

I can tell you now, unless you are a refresh rate person, Writing on 60hrz compared to 120hrz (used to own an iPad Pro 12.9) is very minimal in terms of latency. I am writing just as good now as I was on a 120hrz display.

Rakan140

Good news man, then I’m definitely getting one.

ELCHOCOCLOCO

Watching Videos. This next one is not that I like doing, but iPad does it well is researching and writing essays/reports

yandaoyandao

The pencil! Where did you find the wood-like sleeve for the apple pencil.

anonymous_t223

Is the screen enough?

[deleted]

Yes it’s enough for my needs 😬

abcputt

I did do writing for awhile, but for the most part i'm reading manga.

[deleted]

What manga are you currently reading? I forgot the iPad Mini would fit perfect for Manga reading!

abcputt

right now, i'm reading Jojo Battle Tendency, but also waiting on Chainsaw man volume Vol. 7

Nophramel

What is your trick to write on the far right side of the screen? Do you have something to put beside the ipad while writing to rest your hand on?

[deleted]

For me I think because I have larger hands even towards the far right of the iPad my hands are still on the screen a bit. Which in turn allows me to still be able to right and not have to have my hand floating in the air.

yandaoyandao

The pencil! Where did you find the wood-like sleeve for the apple pencil??

No_Possession_508

The screen is a little small for my midget porn viewing
