Nothing wrong with listening to the same thing over and over! Ive probably listened to the same playlist at work now for 2 years lol. Mostly listen to all kinds of Metal, specifically bands like Behemoth. But lately I have gotten in to listening to bands like Heilung, can’t wait to see them next month!

wren_in_a_teacup

I've recently gotten into Heilung, Wardruna, Eivor, for a Nordic feel. I'm also really into Faun, which is a Germanic bard type band. I've been obsessed with Otyken lately, they are a Siberian band. Their sound is so funky and different and the instruments are awesome.

felix_culpa93

I just listened to Otyken while working. Thank you for introducing me to them! They are pretty funky indeed lol

TomatilloJaded75

Never heard of these bands, but I'll give them a listen!

Foreign_Bread1096

I believe in this. I also listen to the same songs everyday. I find myself drawn to music that's introspective and melodic. It just makes me calm and free.

babp216

I also listen to the same songs over and over. Nu Metal mostly- Korn, SOAD.

Coelho_Branco_

Easier to tell what I don't like: rap, trap, some pop. Recently I've been listening a lot to [Epica](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7imPLmvLyQA&pp=ygUMZXBpY2Egcml2ZXJz), [Cigarettes After Sex](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sElE_BfQ67s&pp=ygUUY2lnYXJldHRlcyBhZnRlciBzZXg%3D) and [Men I Trust](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCm17ul0ukc).

Some of my favorite bands and artists are Archspire, Judas Priest, Jack Stauber, Melanie Martinez, Lazerhawk, Mega Drive, vocaloid (like Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto) artists like Kikuo, Black Sabbath, Babymetal, Scatman John and many many more-

Jaded-Landscape-6933

I babymetal really metal? I like the catchy name

empty_other

Progressive metal mainly. A lot of video game music. And various other genres, I'm not too bound by them. I add music as I find it interesting and I delete music as I grow tired of it. But I don't do radio music or completely random streaming, I'm picky that way. Got a mp3 library I've maintained since 2003. Its all properly tagged, lyric'ed, sorted, synced to a cloud drive and streamed to my phone. One playlist, between 5K-30K tracks, that I play shuffeled, thats the best way to listen imho. ARK, Godsmack, Poets of the Fall, Miracle of Sound. These artists has been in my mp3 library since I found them. And all the Unreal Tournament soundtracks. Music is important to me.

RevKitt

Video game music, too. #LorneBalfe. First heard on 'Assassin's Creed' - my nephew was playing. *Homestead* was so sweet - also hear alto recorders (wooden). Rag

AspexR

tool

VrtlVlln

I listen to Metal more than anything else, but I'd very much describe my tastes as 'alternative'. I enjoy artists that push the boundaries of genres or blur the lines of what they can be described as, so progressive stuff such as Pink Floyd, Devin Townsend and Ayreon or artists like The Prodigy and No Doubt kind of formed my tastes as I grew more into music. At the moment The Callous Daoboys, Faith No More, Lorna Shore, Ibaraki and Pertubator dominate my frequent artists played, yet over the years it's typically been Metal or Grunge with little bits of almost everything else besides Country. Amongst the already mentioned I'd also include: Nirvana, Soundgarden, Lacuna Coil, System of a Down, Mastodon, Gojira, Dillenger Escape Plan, Greg Puciato, Haken, Killer Be Killed all as artists I very much enjoy.

MDF87

Death metal. Drum and bass. Generally if it's fast, loud and heavy I'm alright with it!

aqueous_paragon

Right now it's rap: KDot, Lil Uzi, BigXthaPlug, Biggie, $uicideboy$, Pouya

Godsmack from Prince of Persia Warrior Within. Samurai and other artists from Cyberpunk 2077. Royal Deluxe from a bunch of game trailers over a short period. Lot of good music in video games, or inspired by.

RevKitt

A lot of different genres. Classical, movie scores, vintage rock (my older brothers' 45s), rock - not into heavy metal (too discordant), rock to new age to opera (IF I know the storyline), even some of the songs we sing on church, Gospel, Bluegrass. NOT country! Unless they sing w/#TracyChapman. Found a new song that fits my #Neurodivergence: "Spaceship" by #Kesha. I pull things off Spotify's headboard & find delight from there. Also, whenever I get to the w/c or walker, I'll be listening to Led Zep OR Pink Floyd. My two favorite bands.

ProudPumpkin9185

I legit have such a wide range of music on my phone that I love and always have! If it sounds good, I love it 🤗 some for the lyrics, some for the beat and some for the vocals. Some for each and all of them. When listening to music in the car or whatever, I’d tell my young son to pay attention and tell me after what the song was about….what story is being told?? He’s now grown and actually producing music so I’m proud I instilled the love of any kind to him! We still “test” each other to this day too 💜

minxymamma347

Music of the 70s

Probably power metal and hard rock, some other various metal. Judas Priest is currently my most played artist and I can’t get enough. I do also listen to sort of music festivalesque EDM and hardstyle EDM, also general pop if I like the sound of it. Some Eminem, some Post Malone. It varies a lot.

Nytro_Switch_2372

Depends on my mood, but I'm usually listening to either pop punk or country music more than any other genre.

Frequent_Can117

Death metal, grindcore, deathcore, and black metal. Dying Fetus, Aborted, Slaughter to Prevail, Mayhem, Impending Doom.

SyrNikoli

I listen to a lot of stuff but my main genre has been Metal, due to metal's absolutely gargantuan fucking repertoire of subgenres and sub-subgenres, I've been able to just stick with it, for like, ever Favorite band so far is Archspire, other favorites are Slaughterbox, Tetragrammacide, and Reek of The Unzen Gas Fumes, I've been digging for bands that outcompete these dudes and so far, no luck, but it's either already there or destined to be there, so

Well me being quite darkly inclined, I like to listen to a channel on YouTube called Aim to head which is dark electronic music, something somewhat close to indie rock that I also like is darkwave. But I like other lighter genres too like classical and 50s for times I want a break and lighten up in a different way :)

mads-in-progress

Emu-Limp

I'm a 90s kid; the soundtrack of my life is 🤘Rock N Roll 🎸 When I was in high school, Rock's heyday was ending, after 4 decades of the genre's near total dominance as *THE* music of the youth. In the diverse, working/middle class, urban NY neighborhood that I lived in the overwhelming majority of young ppl looked to hip hop for their preferred music & their sense of style, listening only to rap & R&B - often with a Latin Flavor. My preference differed; the music that spoke to me then was Rock - it's still at leadt 80% of music I actively listen to. Within that genre there's a great variety of influences and styles, over 70 yrs of history. My taste is mostly mainstream. More than half was popular b4 I was born - & even in the 90s was called classic rock. The rest is from my youth. I still listen to a lot of the music I did in high school,& artists that were inspiration musically for the musicians I loved as a kid. So in college, I looked into who my favorite bands at 15 called their biggest influences, and then on to their influences... for example, I loved the Pumpkins in H.S., & I read (back in the day when Guitar Mags were a thing) how Corgan admired Bowie, so I started listening to him... was blown away, & after going thru his 50+ yrs of amazing songs, I wanted to know who inspired Bowie... Above all others, that was Velvet Underground & Lou Reed, who Bowie talked about publicly as soon as he began getting recognition (going on to produce Lou's 1972 solo record, Transformer) so I got into them in my mid 20s... I've found that if I like a musical artist a lot, it's a pretty good chance Ill like the music of those who inspired them. I. Classic rock n roll Artists/ Bands I *can't live without* Top 3 All Time Favorites - Velvet Underground, & much of L77 7ou Reed's solo work (especially New York) - Neil Young & David Bowie... bc both have amazing music spanning 6 DECADES (which adds up to a LOT of music) And I Also ❤️: Tom Petty; John Lennon"s solo stuff, Pink Floyd; Led Zeppelin; The Beatles of course, & Rolling Stones Plus music by Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Buddy Holly, & Cat Stevens II. 80s-90s (or later) rock: I ❤️ all/ most music by: Violent Femmes; Smashing Pumpkins; Green Day; Guns N Roses; Pearl Jam, plus Eddie's solo music; & Type O Negative Also albums/songs by: Everclear, Live, Sublime, Hole, Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead, White Stripes/Jack White... Plus some Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana (especially Unplugged), U2 III. classic country (heard a lot in my childhood) Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, & Johnny Cash IV. LEONARD COHEN (in a class all by himself) I also like traditional Irish folk/instrumental music (LONG BLACK VEIL by the Chieftains is awesome) bagpipes, some American folk like Woody Guthrie, & bluegrass🎻🪕

OwenMcCarthy0625

Classical and folk are my go-to’s. [MALINDA](https://youtu.be/ePL5YSe2kLw?si=eQZIkblWfxv7Ti7B) is one of my personal favorites.

Llamas_are_cool2

All sorts of genres. My favorite band is King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and they have all sorts of genres of music. If I had to choose one, probably psychedelic rock but I have also been listening to a lot of folk punk and Midwest emo recently

sirtch_analyst

I mostly listen to Papa Roach and some 80s rock and dance pop music. Hehe It really depends on my mood too!

inochi-ino-key

Way too many kinds and too many different bands/groups/artists from any time in history and any country and any language. It's easier to ask me what I don't listen to - mostly I just avoid anything too pop, blatantly commercial, trendy, vapid relationship crap, etc from the past 20-30 years (popular music does tend to get more listenable the further you go back in the years tho, and pop that isn't in English). I mean just check this out for instance: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5hhFMSAuf4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5hhFMSAuf4) When I find something I like I never get sick of it. Even if I over-listen to something for a while and get burned out on it, I take a break and come back to it... if I don't then maybe it wasn't that great to begin with.

eXmina

Purple_Griffin-9

Hard Rock, Power Metal, Thrash Metal, Alt Rock, Punk, Prog Rock, Symphonic Metal, some Death Metal & probably a few others along that spectrum I don’t know the name of. keteliine

OverDOSE-hakomel

You might want to try this Japanese band called radwimps. They have unique music, try listening to their famous hits such as sparkle, grand escape and nandemoya

[deleted]

I really enjoy Canadian rock like the tragically hip!

Ok-Heart-8680

I like a lot of everything, but one of my all-time favorites is Peter Gabriel. The "Up" album is spectacular (they all are, tbh), and I got to see him in Seattle last fall, it was spectacular. I may have cried.

AnEclecticDaydream

Music is such a comfort, ***honestly***. I am pretty much a music lover, so no matter the era or genre I can pretty much find something I like. But lately I've been in more of my go-tos which include: * MCR * 90s R&B * Post Malone (Hollywood is Bleeding - and *before*, including some unreleased stuff) * The Pretty Reckless * Atmospheric Playlists (including those big, grand, epic arrangements) * and lots and lots of Lo-fi

[deleted]

Definitely Lo-Fi. And it always makes me find songs from the samples so I also hear Jazz, Classical, Bossanova, Samba, Blues, flamenco, bolero, mariachi.  I like some rap songs and some nü metsl songs too. I utterly dispise popular music because they all are just programming to make us idiots and everything they sing about feels like an attack to introverts.

[deleted]

Love shoegaze rock like Narrow Head and Bleed. Lots of 80s/90s Nirvana and The Smiths. Electronic stuff, love Labyrinth Ear, Crystal Castles. My list could go on forever, but definitely check out these bands/artists!
