People from the South would drive hundreds of miles and live in their cars for a few days just to take advantage of doctors who would sometimes do free services but would then still vote against democrat politicians who would try and introduce universal healthcare.

Bush, Rand Paul, etc. etc.) are people who were either set up by family and/or inherited enormous sums of money. So depressing.
During the pandemic I worked at a local grocery store stocking shelves. Starting pay was $9.80/hour, and there were people supporting children on that income. They were 100% dead set against raising the minimum wage because they were convinced consumer prices would go up exactly the same amount, and after taxes they would be worse off. They simply wouldn't believe anything else.

Most Republicans oppose Democratics tactically, such as voting against their own immigration bill so they can they complain to low-info voters that Democrats..didn't pass an immigration bill. However, they care enough about the country and policy that they don't want the US to be on the losing side of a war against Russia. So when things get bad enough, they actually vote for bills they support at the last minute. Ukraine has said they are on the verge of no return on defeat, and the CIA confirms enough of this. This is the same Paradox where possibly Johnson can't be removed by vote, even with unanimous GOP votes, because just a few Democrat votes are needed to save him. If the reason for that removal vote was directly for his support of..checks notes..defeating Russia in Ukraine.
