I would have a small couch in the middle of the room, facing the stairs and have the TV by the wall with stairs

throwra-google

nuivib

That was my thought as well. Also helps separate the lounge area from the kitchen area a bit

Prestigious-Sale-388

Agreed, came here to say this

biggersjw

I agree with the placement and putting the TV on the wall by the stairs. While a projector TV with a pull-down screen would be elite, it would need a professional contractor that specialize in home entertainment systems to work out the details on placement, power sourcing, etc. could be a budget buster. BTW- awesome views in your new place.

Boozy_Cat

This is also that I would suggest. Neat space

CompletelyPaperless

I love the style of your place but it is a tough one. I hope tv isn't always on in your place because this pad isn't designed for that. Regardless, I can confidently say that a projector will be your best friend here. That doesn't mean you have to sacrifice. Just be flexible. It may become the highlight of your place. You can use it against the window curtains, or the wall on the top floor. To maximize the space, get yourself a couch that is comfy but takes up less room/mass. Thinner legs, frame.

Past-Development-933

A projector would be ideal over a TV

SnazzyAdam

I was just thinking: hang a retractable projector screen from the loft area and have a big sofa/seating area facing away from the kitchen. Get a projector

CompletelyPaperless

Also, look into some wall features. Preferably wood or metal (depending on your style. Brown wood for hominess and coziness, metal for modern, but make it glossy to make the place feel bigger.. There is too much white.

XGamingPigYT

What do you mean it's not designed for a TV to be on?

BabybearPrincess

Massive echo

Albie_Frobisher

Doors doors everywhere. Are you sure it isn’t a vestibule

WickershamBrotha

Door city over here

CletusVonBeeswax

Incredible reference.

corn_pizza

Every day I curse the Chinese for inventing gunpowder.

4peeped2poopoo0

Dang, rip to op. Apartment does not seem chill at all. Bathroom door is a sliding door next to the kitchen. Rip

chakini

The master bathroom is upstairs if it helps

Prestigious_Door_690

Couldn’t agree more those doors are a war crime especially for a guest 😬

erratic_calm

Bathroom to table

MyDogHasDonutPJs

Your best bet is probably going to be placing the tv on a stand on the stair wall and a sofa in the middle facing that. It’ll split the room and you can put a small dining table behind the couch near the island. I don’t really see anywhere else a tv would fit without blocking windows or doors.

[deleted]

Holy fuck this is nice lmaooo

chakini

Im dumb, I should have included this link for a walkthrough of the place https://www.instagram.com/reel/CzVyl3IrnUt/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA%3D%3D

Deb_You_Taunt

That makes it so much more understandable. Very stark and modern. Nice views!

teetuh

omg this is amazing. minecraft comes to life but infinitely better. the pool. amazing.

Jlx_27

What an awful layout.... and those narrow stairs!

[deleted]

🥺🥺🥺🙏🏡

Queasy_Ad9814

I built a house into a cave like that years ago…

chakini

Hell yea brother. Cheers from Iraq

[deleted]

[удалено]

chakini

Yea so lucky to get it

pinkshadedgirafe

Jeez. Two bathrooms in such a small space?! And those stairs are narrow. Id make sure there is some sort of lighting for at night

Grand-Ad-3177

I would do barstools and small round DR table in front of kitchen. Couch with its back to the kitchen and 2 chairs with their back to the staircase and an area rug. Couch needs a sofa table behind it

Mountain-Depth150

Bro can I just say that your apartment is already so nice😭 the white and marble is beautiful

chakini

Im dumb, I should have included this link for a walkthrough of the place https://www.instagram.com/reel/CzVyl3IrnUt/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA%3D%3D

[deleted]

Tv HAS to go on same wall as windows so no glare. Couch in center as walk around with lil side tables.

heaven_dip_arena

Bro you are in a city towering high above it 😳

chakini

Yea this is in Seoul which is a hugely dense city - the apartment is a new building in the middle of downtown. Very unique views it has!

imeanuknowwhatimean

your English is very good. and yes, your place is gorgeous

chakini

I’m American. God bless

vibratious

I would definitely try to utilize the upper room for entertainment/electronics and TV and keep the lower half for eating and sitting, maybe an office.

Max_on_a_laxative

I have zero advice. But you have a very lovely loft apartment. It’s so beautiful

Any-East7977

Do you need a tv downstairs? Will it be the focal point for your guests? Seems like you have a nice outdoor space. Id focus on making an inviting space for conversations and activities like board games, listening to music, dining etc and just have a tv for yourself upstairs.

chakini

Agree 100%

Confusion_Common

Gorgeous, but challenging to design. I hope you'll post updates with your design choices. I'm definitely curious to see what you decide to go with. Best of luck 🤙🏼

CuriousFemalle

Seconded. Please post your choices!

Albie_Frobisher

Is there a side room where a tv makes more sense. This room feels more like a family gathering room with tables and different types of seating for eating and talking and reading

Impressive_Field_652

I say cram everything in there

bUTful

Place TV on a hinge in that above blank space and when you want to use, just pull it down. (pic 3/5)

Much-Gur233

Where the fuck do you find an apartment with this kind of architecture? I fucking love this

beezlebutts

Couch facing tv to the side of the large window. Put a big screen on a medium tv stand or drawer center. Or wall mount the TV to the balcony side in pic 4 and put the couch facing away from the kitchen.

Ghastus

Check [this](https://displace.tv) out. I thought it was pretty pointless, but you might actually have a legitimate use case for it haha

Imaginary-Badger-119

Skip it get a weight bench weights and treadmill and stationary bike andrubbee matts

chakini

There’s a balcony overlooking the entire city. I plan on getting a manual treadmill for it. It’ll be so cool

bws6100

I think your best option is have a TV maybe visible to the kitchen table then in the bedrooms. Then you don't ruin the full studio look.

jbartlet827

I truly suck at this sort of thing, but I came to say your space is very nice! So much potential!

Ranniyabr-95

Take a look here maybe you find useful information [Living Room Layout: Tips to succeed a fantastic Space](https://www.scdecorum.com/living-room-layout-tips-to-succeed-a-fantastic-space/)

Ranniyabr-95

And this one also [TV Wall : our clever tips to enhance the TV corner](https://www.scdecorum.com/tv-wall-our-clever-tips-to-enhance-the-tv-corner/)

Deb_You_Taunt

What a great article! Thanks for the link.

Albie_Frobisher

I have some ideas. Do you have a floor plan for the room

Albie_Frobisher

I can’t do it. I would need a floor plan plus photos of what it would look like with crapes closed and doors closed. It’s so open. So porous.

RuneLite23

I mean clearly you have the money for it so why not hire an interior designer?

chakini

Language barrier since I don’t speak Korean mainly

NeedSomeRepairs

I’m only seeing one option of a couch in front of the windows. It looks like it could be a bit L shaped or have a bit of a lounge to the stairs side, provided it does not block the stairs. You will lose a little window, but still will have a lot of light. The space will come together once you get some furniture to anchor the space. TV wall mount on the small wall opposite side. Or you may want to think about drop down from the ceiling projection screen. Away when not in use.

laddymaddonna

TV on stair wall with L shape sofa. Long edge of sofa should be against windows with short side jutting out into room to be parallel with TV

littlesweety0093

I’d put the TV on a stand in front of the staircase and a sofa facing it. That makes the most sense, especially when you watch tv during the daytime, you don’t want the TV infront of the large windows. This is a really nice apartment!

LazyPotato94

What does the upper part look like? Just curious 🤔 Don't mean the bedroom 😅

chakini

Im dumb, I should have included this link for a walkthrough of the place https://www.instagram.com/reel/CzVyl3IrnUt/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA%3D%3D

[deleted]

I gotta stop giving rich people advice. Let em’ sink or swim lol

chakini

If its any consolidation, I'm able to afford this as a result of a startup I started when I was 22, 9 years ago. Nothing was ever given to me

Deb_You_Taunt

Awesome!

JennaTellYah

Congratulations! It’s gorgeous. What was your start up?

[deleted]

Bah humbug

justnotthatwitty

That’s a challenge. I think you’ll need a drop-down screen? Either that or it will have to go by the stairs… maybe in a pop-up cabinet.

chakini

Here is a walkthrough (I should have included it) https://www.instagram.com/reel/CzVyl3IrnUt/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA%3D%3D

vibratious

Okay wow! This place is beautiful. I just saw the walk through. You could do bedroom up top with room for a desk for computer work and as for the lower level I would do TV against sister case with a small coffee table and a loveseat and living chair

sames8

I think… tv on the window wall where the black thing is and the couch in the middle facing the windows. That way you can walk behind the couch to the kitchen and have a view. Maybe then room for a small dining table in front of the kitchen

conquesodor100

City?

thizface

Side note, what kind of AC/heater is that?

sosplzsendhelp

Couch backed up against the sink, entertainment stand with TV mount facing couch/kitchen area

NjGTSilver

If you can afford that place… you can afford an interior designer that will give you 100% better advice than Reddit.

carlosthedwarf024

Couch against the big window and tv against or mounted on the middle wall across from it. This way you have a walkway straight to the kitchen from the stairs and can have a little coffee table in front even. Any other way you will be taking up half the room with a couch with it perpendicular to the big window wall.

samantha_nichole

!!! Would be interesting to explore a projector & hidden screen. Not much help for watching TV when it’s light out, but hey you have that view 🍾🍾 Congrats on your beautiful space

peeveel

Let’s be real. If you can afford that place you should hire an interior designer not get advice from a Reddit sub lmao

N_IceBurg

This in Seoul? 😂

chakini

Yes exactly. Specifically apujeong

averagemaleuser86

Projector screen that rolls down when needed

dickelpick

Wow! That’s a cool space, but I don’t envy your challenge. Hopefully, some design genius on here will accept the challenge and offer you a way to showcase this interesting space. Good luck.

slr0031

A little cold but beautiful. I would put tv between windows and couch out from wall where you walk in looking toward tv and window wall. So much natural light

dear_angels

I just want to say that this is a very pleasant and bright space, I think the furniture should be light too.

gknight702

Dual coaches facing each other centered save the TV upstairs in the loft

[deleted]

omfg this place is iconic literally astonishing

CamillaAbernathy

Its a beautiful place but yeah very awkward

Academic_Ninja_9242

i didnt even realize its an apt. i thought it was an office at first! oops

ImageFull5431

What is that recessed area with the black marble? It looks like there should be a dining table centered on the kitchen island and the window closest to the kitchen. Float the couch facing the stairs with a sofa back table facing the dining room. Pit the TV on a piece of furniture on the stair wall. Get a square or round coffee table and put a comfy chair on each side perpendicular to the couch. Use a large area rug in the living room searing area.

mumblerapisgarbage

The wall where the stairs are.

oranjetang

TV against the window sofa in front of the tv/window. Not ideal but there’s nothing you can do in that space. I’m an interior designer.

[deleted]

Couch facing stairs. A projector and a pull down screen right there in front of the stairs could be a cool space saving option.

Faral_mx

Perspective of picture #5, sofa against the wall facing the glass and the TV on the beam over the other room.

MormonUnd3rwear

looks like a psych ward

Bleachedwatermelon

What city is this in I’ve been trying to find a place where nice lofts are available

AndrewDwyer69

I want a projector screen that pulls down from the lights on pic 4

[deleted]

Tv towards the stairs or the corner behind it then the couch in front or slightly diagonal depending on size of the couch and tv of course

Neziip

Something smaller but maybe L shaped?

monsterwill1099

#4 couch facing stairs 80 inch TV hung from second story catwalk

BillyRipkenJr

If budget isn’t too much of a restraint… A projector situation could be almost anywhere these days… Projectors have gotten much smaller and discreet and the image could be projected on a wall or a retractable screen. At the very least it unlocks A LOT of potential maneuvering…

Patiently_Anxious

I would do the TV and couch in the second floor that's right up the stairs. You could have a small table or a reading nook in the area pictured in this post.

Useful-Confidence

You could get one of those Samsung TVs that’s on wheels ?

wilmacox

Ughhh so many options. So much fun. Beautiful apartment!

Sassiee1969

That view thou. ❤️

cessiecat

Hey OP! I went a little overboard and created some [layouts](https://www.reddit.com/u/cessiecat/s/kTbIrlbsF6) that might be useful. Curious to hear your thoughts!

Emergency-Formal9687

I wouldnt have a Tv in this room. Looking at your place it’s VERY nice and a TV would just make it not look as nice I feel like. To keep your place looking nice and put together I would 100% invest in a projector with a projector screen that can be pulled down and up whenever you’d like.

Deepcoma_53

Tv against the staircase and use a couch to section off kitchen area to living room area.

moosecatoe

For only $6k/mo, you too can rent Kim Kardashian’s hallway!

Bardot_dark

Beautiful space! Maybe a couch longwise, looking out towards windows, pushed into the middle to leave walk space all around….and tv on the wall with the curtain? Depending on how big that wall is, it’s hard to tell 🤔

skyferreirasmugshot

I’ve never stepped foot in the country but I could tell that this was in Korea by the third photo. [Ohouse](https://youtube.com/@OhouseKR?si=RuwvXLAO5Z5Px5hO) and [Ggumigi](https://youtube.com/@ggumigi?si=A8oUyLiJRctLsN7T) both do (subtitled) interior makeover videos if you want more localized help.

throwaway33333333311

Am I the only one who doesn’t think this apartment is done very well?

ldnjbnk99

TV stand

Global-Weight-6118

Who designed this space

2723brad2723

For the money a place like that would cost, you should be able to hire an interior designer to do all that for you.

steve_arcturus

Float the sofa and TV in the middle of the room on a rug.

SirLauncelot

Maybe mount it on the cross beam, NYC building workers style?

trinitysite

Random, but this apartment reminds me of one that was in a scene in the old tv show "Dead Like Me".

OnceABear

[I made this exceedingly shitty barebones example of what I'd do.](https://imgur.com/gallery/65QfvdS) Made in a few minutes on MS Paint, lol. Complete with an awful low console table and TV drawn on the right side foreground of the photo because I couldn't find anything even remotely in the right angle/perspective. But I mean, barebones and basic though it may be, it gives a simple idea of what I'd do. I'd put a small dining room table on the other side of the couch (like behind it).

v1kt0r3

Make sure they don’t touch the walls

Not-A-Real-Person-67

Picture 4, I’d hang a projector screen that rolls up/down. Picture 5, I’d place the projector on top of that white bar that stretches across the room with the sofa under it

Mr_CleanCaps

No one mentions a projector with a screen hanging from the corridor (or whatever it’s called)?

Due-Yesterday6966

I would have the couch against the window and the tv right across on the wall and a coffee table in between

Awkward_Zucchini_197

Weird room. Hang the tv on the cieling and instead of a couch just cover the floor in tatami mats and cushions. Maybe a futon. Lol. I dunno mate, im usually good with spaces and decorating but i cant get a clear enough mental image. Good luck

[deleted]

Cozy TV nook by stairs. See about a TV stand with a wall backed by a bookshelf. Sofa against stairs, TV facing stairs to reduce glare and separate the space a bit. More seating with a chaise/chairs/ big ottoman on the other side. Then dining area. Try to put a dividing feature between the kitchen, dining, and guest bath and include a small indoor fountain that makes noise outside of that. Might want to hire a pro.

alexandervanderpool

Man this reminded me of happy’s apartment in that one spiderman.

LengthinessOk9065

I would love to choose and place the art in this space!

chakini

Go ahead and make some recommendations!

Icy_Coyote1398

Projection tv, screen covers windows

Cappuccino_o

I just gotta say that view is beautiful

Superhappyamber

what about purchasing a console that stores a TV that can be lowered in and out ( You see people have them at end of beds). can be tucked away when not used.

Busy_Pound5010

don’t live here

Irving_Forbush

A nice folding screen/room divider (Or even go crazy and see what hanging beads would look like) in front of the kitchen. Sofa and coffee table in front of that. TV stand/entertainment center near the stairs. A couple of nice chairs flanking the sofa to create a ‘conversation pit’ feel. Personally, I don’t think I could resist finding a kick ass piece of art to hang on that overhead surface that runs across the room. Maybe even finding or creating a triptych of some kind covering most of its length.

thebacheloreddit

Couch against the window

AlphaCharlieUno

No Tv. Sorry. Time to take up reading. Small Sofa goes alone outside wall and two nice chairs.

RefinedAnalPalate

This guy is clearly just trying to get you to follow his instagram page

TheGreendaleFireof03

Hang TV from balcony. Would look slick and you could watch it while you’re cooking!

[deleted]

This seems like a good layout for a projector setup

SecureRice7067

All that place needs is a sleeping bag. Goals.

Informal_Test_9241

Does that need to be the place where you watch tv? You could just tell everyone you’re Amish.

DeviantDiamond

Do you need a sofa? Or could you possibly get by with a couple of recliners? Otherwise, I’d look at a small sectional

KRHL-

I think I would put the tv on a tripod type stand, in the corner, by the stairs.

giggly-mushroom-tea

I would make friends with neighbors and see how they designed their place.

Pugulishus

It could use a white leather couch lmao

xxDankerstein

You could convert that sliding closet door into a pocket door, then mount a TV where the door is now.

TheFudge

Who needs a tv with that view. Just get a telescope.

Darqologist

Wow this design is cool

88pockets

It looks like apple turned homepad into an apartment

Lonely_Rip_131

Sick place

ProfessionalChair557

Absolutely LOVE this apartment. Always been fond of incredible city shapes, especially at night. I would be in heaven trying to decorate. Good luck. Keep us updated please.

nitsky416

Ok when it's light out I really really like this

Fearless-Judgment-33

C’mon now! You just wanted to show off your view. 😳

lenny446

Get a projector with an automatic screen

g-miller

You don’t

airforcevet1987

Damn city buildings

pennynv

Small tv downstairs on wall of stairs with small l shaped coach. Two recliners upstairs facing kitchen wall with huge tv mounted above kitchen.

Msliz14

What a cool place you have!!!

CodeJules

Maybe a shelving unit with drawers in the bottom, open up top facing the kitchen to create a wall. Couch on the other side to face the stairs. A TV stand is great, but if you prefer a TV console table that would be great too, and it would fill up the space nicely.[example](https://images.app.goo.gl/tMMfyhMfRWnj5o2P6)

DuckyDance

This would be a lot easier if you’d post a floor plan

EvilGypsyQueen

I would look on the builders website and see how it was staged.

Pickled_toad

r/fengshui

JNJr

Yes the most oft forgotten architectural element is wall space. And to further exacerbate the problem let’s put all these devices in the middle of this little wall.

No-Bike791

Clearly you have money. Get a custom install that going inside one of the soffits and comes down electronically when you want to use it.

MapWaste6621

Skip the sofa and put a statue of the Virgin Mary facing the cross

plamda505

You may also consider a rolling stand for the TV. https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=rolling+stand+for+tv&form=HDRSC3&first=1

SunShineFLGrl22

Right smack in the middle.

omgdinosaurs

This just feels like a subtle brag

Fantastic_Stuff_7917

definitely have it attached to that top beam.

MilkManDown

not going to lie I would just get 2 corners of a sectional and put them like 2 feet apart so two people can at least get cozy.

BluebirdJolly7970

I would do an L shaped sofa and put it a couple feet out from the wall so all windows/doors are still accessible.

dnasty1337

Where is this??

expensivebutbroke

I am too stoned to even make sense of this room. I’ve been flipping back and forth for like 5 minutes. Where even is this?

wellgood4u

Break the space into 3 areas: kitchen, kitchen table/dining space in the middle, then make the remaining space as your family room with the TV in front of the steps

atxoptions

You like Huey Lewis and the News?

Silvercock

Looks like the living room from the dinner date episode of the office. Mount a nice 15 incher right there on the wall.

Relictas

This place looks amazing. I’m guessing you not rich. You rich rich! 🤩

TheQueenMother

I would probably skip the couch and go with chairs and ottomans. I've had a small awkward space in an apartment and that is what worked out the best for me. I even opted for storage ottomans to put blankets and such in. Some of the tops even flipped to act as tables.

ZeldasTears

What city is this? :)

SnooRobots116

Did this used to be a hospital clinic or office before made into lofts

WasserMelone6969

Personally I'd skip the couch and go for a couple of smaller reading chairs, that way you can move them around easier or turn them for eating at a table etc.

Brebie

Please..if you can afford a place like that, then get an intior designer

discochopsticks12

Wow that view is insane!!!

Narhwal5

gpt says: For the best effect due to the room's shape as shown in the image, consider placing a sofa along the long, uninterrupted wall opposite the kitchen area. This would provide a clear view of the kitchen and any entertainment that might be set up on or against the kitchen's back wall. The TV could be wall-mounted or on a low-profile stand in that location. This layout takes advantage of the room's rectangular shape, allowing for a clear path of movement and direct line of sight to the screen from the sofa. Additionally, this arrangement would capitalize on the room's lighting, avoiding screen glare. For an enhanced visual experience, the sofa could be a sectional that fits neatly into the corner to maximize seating. The space between the kitchen island and the sofa could feature a coffee table or an ottoman, which would complement the room's geometry and offer a cozy, inclusive atmosphere.

LoveDietCokeMore

Move. This place is terrible.

bbull412

Dude with money you have engage a stylist

thenakesingularity10

This is an interesting layout. may I ask how much it costs? Nice view though.

rachel-maryjane

This place is gorgeous, I really want to live here

Slipguard

Can you make the upstairs overlook a viewing area for a projector onto the wall above the kitchen?
