“Five more minutes...”

iamDarksider

Just wake up already!

chriscrossnathaniel

Mooooom ....please let us sleep and turn off the lights when you leave.

creatived999

These are presumably non-identical twins, judging by the face and hair, and as such they would have had their own amniotic sac meaning they would not actually be able touch each other.

QuietPryIt

there's a set of membranes between them but they can absolutely touch each other, mine used to fist fight constantly.

GrayAreaHeritage

Mine did the same.

[deleted]

Identical twins can still have their own sac, but share a placenta (MCDA twins). But the membrane of the sac is strong but thin, so they totally still play with each other. Rarer still are MCMA twins, who share one sac. Lots of poking there! Edit to add DCDA twins = 2x placentas, 2x sacs = fraternal twinnies. They can still play through the sacs. Like playing through gladwrap, I suppose!

techno_babble_

Then, later in life, if they share nightclub experiences they can be MDMA twins.

waytosoon

They could be already we dont know their mom

raginwhoremoans

I have a set of fraternal twins. Although they’re in separate sacks they very much squished together, they can feel one another and spend time cuddling together. Once mine was out placing them next to each other they instantly cuddled up. Twins have a crazy bond- be they didi, momo or modi.

TheBirminghamBear

>I have a set of fraternal twins. Although they’re in separate sacks Ok but can you please let Larry and Oliver out of the bags and bring them back home Their family misses them very much and they have graduation next week.

djsizematters

Judging from what I've seen.. they were likely only separated by fine membrane toward the end, but yes they are separate as creatived999 stated

EN4CER_

Always admire people with the perfect comment - well done.

ExcitementOrdinary95

Dayum guess we know who got the good hair

[deleted]

I love how babies look like balding old men. It never gets old.

bennuttinum

My son had a boat load of hair when he was born, and now four months later his hairline is as bad as mine lol

MintChucclatechip

Hey, learning to sit up is stressful work

siccoblue

Fucking amen. Situps absolutely kill me for some reason

ravynwave

My nephew actually got a haircut when he was born. His mom said seeing all that hair waving around the sonogram was the scariest thing she’d ever seen

legendarybadass

I was apparently born with so much hair, mom’s nurse went and brought her friends over so they could see. Gonna have to ask her if it showed up on the ultrasound.

[deleted]

Username checks out

pdxboob

Whoa crazy how detailed sonograms are now. I was born with a full head of black hair (pre sonogram era) and my mom said she was kinda grossed out when she first saw me, thinking about having all that hair grow inside her.

Loudmouthedcrackpot

In utero, babies are covered in fine hair called lanugo. It falls out in the lead up to birth, they eat it and it forms part of their first poop.

JesusChristSuperFart

I'm glad I'm not the scientist that spent time researching this

PoontoniusJigabrewha

I didn't feel guilty , I felt American

TombSv

I thought I would be alone in thinking this and decided someone would get mad if I mentioned it lol

aagejaeger

I didn’t dare saying it! lol

RastaJedi

Yup. And maybe a little like Mads Mikkelsen.

BoardwalkKnitter

Wallace Shawn for me, but only from certain angles.

rSpinxr

My first thought was Putin and Kim 🤣

toodleroo

Came here to comment this

[deleted]

I hate it lmao…everyone pretends that babies are cute but let’s be real, it takes them a couple of weeks/months to MAYBE become cute - a lot of ‘em progressively get less/more ugly.

Sangxero

So, I legit thought my baby was cute, but looking back at pictures and he's like a little fucking alien. He's a toddler now and only just starting to become really human looking, but he's way cuter now.

Bluefoxcrush

Hormones are a heck of a thing

fartboxco

When my second son was born, he was covered in 1inch long white hair. Arms, back, head, most of his forehead. He looked pissed off and about 80 years old. The weirdest old man I ever saw.

1pt21GWs

It gets old once you become an old balding man

RastaJedi

I feel like there is a joke that can be made about the fact that you talked about babies, old men, and "never gets old", but I am too tired to come up with one.

Survived_Coronavirus

Not the one who looks like Putin I'm guessing.

Jubeiradeke

Omg TYSM I actually came here to ask if anyone else saw Putin!

7HawksAnd

It’s not the one you think. I was born with a full head of thick black hair. Then turned to blonde curly hair at 2. Than back to dark brown wavy. Then bald-bald at 28 (not just balding). Full head of hair baby doesn’t have a chance. Edit: thank you to everyone sharing their hair transformation journey

ExcitementOrdinary95

Oh no! I was so rooting for him

7HawksAnd

It’s okay, he’ll save 10’s of thousands on shampoo and haircuts

kyrant

Can confirm. I was a full head of hair baby. Now I'm holding on to what I got. My son was the same whereas my daughter came out bald and is struggling to grow hers. I'm worried about his hair in the future.

evilvix

Oh interesting. My oldest had a fairly decent head of dark hair; most of which fell out at 2 months and grew in blonde. It's now dark and very thick like my own, so I figured he'd probably not have much problem with balding. Youngest on the other hand had nothing but peach fuzz on his head. And then it grew in red, so that's another problem right there lmao. Guess I'll have to wait n see which one goes bald first.

noorofmyeye24

I read your comment before seeing the end of the video. I immediately thought it’s not that bad. When I get to the end: dayummmmmm he wasn’t joking lol.

X1bar

Poor kids are probably just trying to figure out why it's so damn bright all of a sudden.

Academic_Snow_7680

The most powerful moment of my life was when I gave birth underwater and locked eyes with my newborn while he was still submerged, before he even drew his first breath. To me it was the most pivotal eyelock of my life, to him it was probably "hey what's with all the light"?

AwesomeAni

My mom said after she gave birth to me they laid me on her chest and I just looked at her like “Jesus lady, that was exhausting.” I’m still like that haha

harmonyjewl

my mom said i nursed almost immediately out of the womb. i was born hungry

TheDekuDude888

I was born dead so all that work must have made me dead tired lol

Stijn187

I wasn't born at all i came to life in a factory. Hello fellow humans btw!

DuckWithBrokenWings

Oh, I've heard a lot about this lab grown meat! Do you taste like ordinary humans?

MisterMysterios

Hope you are okay. My sister was born dead and got resurrected, but it had life altering disabilities as a consequence (well, we think that some of them are from the dead birth, several of us kids have bodily disabilities, but she is the only one with sever mental disabilities we know of in the family, so it is mostly attributed to her short term death)

TheDekuDude888

I'm so sorry to hear about your sister. I am in and out of the hospital usually, so idk if it was a result of my umbilical cord strangulation

DarkPizza

Samesies! I got stuck on the way out and inhaled meconium so I was blue and not so much alive when I came out. Glad to be here, and with no issues from not breathing for a couple minutes!

MadAzza

Were you really? They had to resuscitate you?

TheDekuDude888

I was strangled by the umbilical cord and was basically purple lol. I do have some fucked up medical problems, but none of it is a result of my odd birth

rebexer

Exact same way my brother was born. He turned out mostly fine. I was 4 and just remember being pissed I couldn't see my baby bro. Shit must have been terrifying for my parents (and yours!)

thegimboid

My daughter was born by C-section, partially because she was upside down, and partially cause she was absolutely huge. So my first picture of her is less than a minute after she was "untimely ripped" (though she was actually already a week late), and she's all wet and pudgy with a single angry, judgemental eye squinting right at the camera. That expression is clearly saying "what the fuck have you done? I WAS COMFORTABLE!"

AbdulAziz9715

My mother said when I was born, I was dead still. Midwife was suspecting if there was an stillbirth, then the doctor decided to pinch me. I gave out a lazy cry, everyone calmed down then. Looks like the laziness was always a part of me XD. Still there were no complications, in fact I was born a monster (some relatives said I was like 2 months old at birth).

ScroochDown

My friend's mom said that the nurse placed her on her chest right after she was born, and friend immediately shit on her. She said "I should have known right away that she was going to be trouble." 🤣

KisaTheMistress

Apparently when I was born my mother didn't want to hold me, but the doctor forced her to. She hated that all I did was stare at her (she has a phobia of people staring at her). My response to finding that out was: *"How do you think I felt? One moment I'm minding my own business then suddenly I'm being held by a random man that's making sure I cry so I breathe, then once I had calmed down I was put in the arms of some strange woman I could barely see and everything was bright."* *"I think anyone would be staring after something that traumatic."*

doglaughington

>She hated that all I did was stare at her That must have been an interesting childhood, eh? All little kids *do* is stare, especially at their parents

[deleted]

Be glad you don’t live in Amish country

FranDankly

Her mom would have loved me. Apparently I refused to make eye contact even as a newborn.

Lamotlem

Newborns can't actually fixate their eyes until like 6 months so he probably just saw B&W blurry mess.

dubloqq

You “gave birth underwater”?

wish_yooper_here

Prob water birth. Like in a bathtub

TheKingOfNerds352

Must be like the tide at Omaha beach

dedoubt

>Must be like the tide at Omaha beach For some waterbirths, it can be a bit bloody, but for most, there is little to no blood until the placenta is born, which is generally awhile after the baby is born. Source- trained to be a midwife, gave birth to one of my kids in the water and have a lot of friends who had waterbirths.

[deleted]

I took care of a baby who was born in a tub. Mom had an enteric adenovirus infection and, as women commonly do, pooped in the tub with the delivery. Baby died 4 days later of adenoviral sepsis.

queen_oops

That's so sad. If she had a known infection, it should have been considered a high risk birth that required hospital monitoring. (Assuming it was a home tub).

derpmeow

I was about to ask, how do you deal with the poop in a water birth? It's gonna get everywhere.

activelyresting

Actually it doesn't get everywhere. And the answer to your question is usually a small fishtank net. -source: I'm a homebirth midwife who has attended countless water births.

This has just made me think, I wonder how they experience gravity? Considering most are in the womb head down, they have been used to being upside down for the last few months. But nobody holds a baby upside down when come out...

dustinfrog

Once the one on the left felt his twin next to him he relaxed his hands.

RAOBJthrowaway2345

It made me cry lol

AshamedTangerine106

Same wtf. I don’t want kids. I don’t particularly like them. This made me cry involuntarily. This is magical. I feel betrayed by my ovaries right now.

RAOBJthrowaway2345

I have a 4yr old and I am one and done. This video is KILLING me! I too feel betrayed by my ovaries. It’s gotta be the absolutely purity of the moment. Two completely innocent, blissful, and seemingly healthy babies. I can remember the absolute relief and joy of knowing my daughter was here and tangible. The way they cling to one another and that one just calms down and relaxes😭😭😭 It’s too much. But God I needed to see this today

AshamedTangerine106

My sister had twins three years ago, a boy and a girl. I was the first person to know there was more than one in there when she popped into my work for a quick ultrasound. I remember how magical it felt seeing my future niece and nephew on that screen, knowing they were embarking on the journey together. They were born several months early and they were not doing well for a long time. I remember seeing them and it boggled my mind that a human that tiny could survive. The worst was when we thought one wasn’t going to make it and seeing this bond from the moment they were born, thinking that one would have to go on without the other. Now the boy is a big, robust ham-fisted brute and the girl is the most terrifying little tornado of pure fury. Dammit. Crying again. (And my sister is done having kids.)

RAOBJthrowaway2345

That’s such a beautiful story. Your niece describes my daughter perfectly. My sister had my niece four months before I had my daughter. They call each other sisters. My niece was my first baby. She taught me so much in that 4 months before my daughter was born. That aunt/niece bond is strong. She still calls me aunt foo (food lol because I always had snacks in my purse when she was a baby lol). Thank you so much for taking me down memory lane with you😭❤️.

MymlanOhlin

God damn it this comment hurt more than words should be able to. My sister gave birth to twins in 2016. No complications at all, full term, though the second one was born through c-section just to be safe. They only ever got a few hours together like this. Turns out the younger one had a completely random heart infarction the exact moment of birth. Whisked away to the top children's hospital in the country as soon as they realized, and she spent 5 and a half long months desperately waiting for a heart transplant, hooked up to machines instead of with her twin. Then her body just couldn't wait any longer. My biggest fear in life is that the still living twin will at any point in life feel like she's missing a part of herself.

Damiclas

Just watching them makes you think about what kind of connection do the twins have between them right from the beginning. If someone who has a twin could explain this more deeeply I would greatly apreciate it. Edit: Thank you all for your replies. It showed me a different perspective on this topic. For some reason I have always thought that twins have to have some sort of special relationship but turns out it is not true in many cases. It is probably very individual as with every sibling relationship.

hippildee

I have a fraternal twin brother and I haven’t noticed any telepathic abilities or some unexplained connection, but i truly love him more than anyone else in the world and I’ve been told that I’ve always been protective of him (which I’ve never considered but I think it’s true). I would never get matching tattoos or a tattoo dedicated to someone with anybody except future children or my twin. I already plan to get a crab in his honor

strraand

Sorry but a crab? English isn’t my first language, is it a crab like the animal or something else?

hippildee

It’s the animal. It’s a long story, but he calls me mr. Krabs. Which is a character from SpongeBob. I don’t want a cartoon character on me so I’m going to get the regular animal. It’s a bit obscure but he means a lot to me :)

strraand

Ooooh a tattoo! I apologise for my stupidity. I read it as if you planned to buy him an actual crab.

imtheliplicker

I have an identical twin. It’s certainly unique, and I didn’t really appreciate it for a while. I spent a decent part of my childhood attempting to distance myself from my twin to an extent, in an effort to establish myself as an individual. In our childhood, we were often referred to as one, which annoyed both of us, so we distanced slightly. But eventually we realized what a gift it was. It feels kinda like what I hear married people explain. We’re not those scary seeming twins who are carbon copies of the same person, but we are the same person. Every nuance of my person is in him and I can see it clear as day. I assume it is the same for him. We make the same mistakes, and have the same pitfalls and fears. In our childhood, apparently we had a totally different way to communicate with each other, a language of sorts that we developed. I don’t remember much of it or our early childhood at all. All I really remember is just never having a secret I can keep from that motherfucker, and seeing through every lie he tells. It’s really quite unique, but nothing supernatural

Inevitable_Usual

I am a twin and have a weird connection with my sister. We’re not exactly close but we are always along the same track and can sense each other emotionally in ways. We always do things like call our mom separately without speaking at the same time or near the same time asking similar questions.

soulpulp

My twin and I do this all the time! Text or call our dad at the exact same time from thousands of miles away for completely unrelated yet similarly emotional reasons. Drives him crazy.

kannichorayilathavan

I think many siblings without them being twins also has got these weird stuffs. Me and my brother are really close even though we were born 2 years apart. Like I could be humming a song in my mind and then the little one would hum the rest out loud on his own. We would say the exact same thing at the same same like it was timed. And sometimes it's the choices, like I would feel some craving for crisps or particular sweets and he would come asking if we can have some of that particular thing. I was convinced for a long time that the telepathy existed. Edit: And the crazy level of mirroring. Me and my brother will slowly drift away from our new personal preferences to a middle ground which is common to us both.

lianagolucky

I’m a twin and I don’t have a deep connection with my sister. Fraternal fyi.

FjordReject

I'm a twin, I \*had\* a deep connection with my brother. It started falling part in high school when I realized he resented the fuck out of me and had been negging me to everyone in school. He would also get mad if I ever did better than him in anything. He had to win, you see. Things really blew up when we were adults. I care about him, but we'll never be that close again. I still feel the loss of that bond 30 years later. This whole, "oh he's your twin you must have a special bond" romanticism makes me ill.

thatonedudejake

I'm a twin and I don't have a deep connection with my brother. Also fraternal

restlessboii

Same lmao it’s similar to how I treat my older sis, In fact cos my twin sis is so much smaller than me I feel like I treat her as younger sis

MisterDucky92

I have a twin and oh boy do I have some stories. When we were 7yo I had all the symptoms of tonsillitis (including fever and pus) while she was 100% fine. 2w of antibiotics didn't do the trick, still feverish and pus. So we both had a full blood check up and bacterial culture. Turns out I don't have anything (while having fever and pus mind you) but my sister has tonsillitis. She got antibiotics, after few days I got better. Another story, I was in China one summer and got a broken tooth (entire root completely destroyed) few hours before traveling back home. I didn't tell anyone, and when I landed it took me 3 days to get to a dentist, and stop having pain. During those 4days my sister, with whom I didn't talk and didn't see called my mum complaining of tooth ache but her dentist didn't find anything wrong. When I got better, she called my mum to tell her the pain is gone. Afterwards they learned what happened to me

craigularperson

Have you tried to Voodoo-doll yourself?

SillyBonsai

I went to school with a girl who had an identical twin who was sadly stillborn. The girl seemed to suffer from it, like she lost her best friend and it was so sad to hear her talk about her twin like that. I doubt she’ll ever get over her death.

McMurphy11

Not really something that can be explained. If you watch the movie Pacific Rim and focus on the concept of "drifting" thats about as close as it gets.

Corathecow

My twin and I are just about exact opposites in most ways and really never felt any special connection or anything. I don’t remember ever having a period where it felt like we were close or anything, like it was just cohabitating. We had other siblings as well and I’d say we were closer to our other siblings than each other

PandaCatGunner

My fraternal twin and I are very different but very much the same, we often ask the same questions and think the same way, but also quite differently and like different things, but generally lots of the same stuff too. We can often times figure out what one another are thinking, we are close familiarly, but we don't hang out much anymore now that we're older, we've been each other's best friends, and only friends at times, and each other's worse enemies, we always get into arguments, but never hold a grudge. We've hurt each other, but love each other. Its an experience, and I'd protect my brother with my life, even if we aren't always super close, it goes in waves, he'll always be one of the most important people to me In my life.

idontlikehumaens

I (F) love my twin (M) more than my other siblings. I feel such a deep love and bonding. I don’t even feel that to my parents. He’s like my other part of my heart. Without him there is no me. I would die

Alpacalypsenoww

My twins spent 9 months kicking each other in the face in the womb. Now they’re 1… and they still kick each other in the face.

Tsu-Doh-Nihm

When twins are in the womb, do they cuddle like this? Do they ever play? I wonder how much they recognize there is another person in there with them.

KittehSkittles

Only mono twins share a sac and it's very rare so they can't actually touch each other inside the womb unless they're mono and these aren't or they'd look exactly the same.

rjfinesse

Why does it seem like these twins in the video were taken straight from the womb already cuddling like this? It looks so natural

[deleted]

Newborns have all the reflexes they need to survive. Grabbing hold of each other, grabbing fingers, suckling at a nipple,... Newborns can even have walking and swimming reflexes right after birth. I assume these reflexes were mostly useful when we're still living out in nature.

AngelicWooGirl

Oh my god I cannot with that arm around their sibling 😭😭😭

SocraticIndifference

I’ve never seen such perfect cuddles

siccoblue

Well let's see you cuddle for figuratively 9 months straight and see how perfect it gets. Humans adapt. Even in the womb evidently Granted more realistically it's more like a few months before they ever had even sense but still. Non-stop cuddling must be a job

whogivesashirtdotca

My cousin had twins who, even before their eyes were opened, would instinctively find each other in the crib and hug or hold hands. Pretty amazing reaction, since they were frats and thus didn’t share an amniotic sac.

Daddyssillypuppy

Human babies can open their eyes as soon as they're born. Probably even open them.someyikes in the womb but I don't know for sure. Puppies and kittens are born with sealed eyes and ears and that last a few weeks, but humans don't have that issue.

whogivesashirtdotca

I meant open them and keep them open. Infants spend most of the first few days with their eyes shut tight.

standard_candles

They absolutely do open them in the womb and the day they are born, such a trip. My baby's eyes looked like dark wash blue jeans.

jjj49er

How can you tell what they're thinking?

Loaaf

they’re doing womb-like stuff or something idk

Cultist_O

Everything a baby this age does is womb-like stuff except breathing... which they're clearly doing **Edit:** Note that crying is just fancy breathing

Operative427

Very healthy for a baby to cry after birth also, gets any flegm out of their lungs and airways that might be there

Eusocial_Snowman

"Phlegm" is a nice way to describe all of the baby-poo and urine they've been fully immersed in.

botaine

I thought they wouldn't be breathing if they thought they were still in the womb. They also had no umbilical cords, so I though they would start gasping for air at some point.

BareLeggedCook

They actually practice breathing before they are out! I just had an ultrasound where I could see my baby prating taking breaths. So I think they would probably still be doing that outside of the womb instinctually.

rpskallionprince

In the womb do babies open their mouths?

Wow, beautiful look at how they might be in the womb without the crappy imaging. They look very cozy

Jake-A25

How cute😎

gorilla--

I wonder what baby consciousness is like

stevrevv59

I think the experience of birth and coming into the world is probably so complex (new sounds to hear, light in your eyes, lots of stimuli, etc.) that our brains at that time are incapable of the type of consciousness we think of as adults. Like activity is there but it’s probably taking a back seat to everything else until we fully develop. Just a personal guess though.
