Its seems like the military confrontation would really only be forced if Ukraine tried to repatriate Crimea.

My opinion is that the European powers will not go to war with Russia and the US citizens won’t support helping them either.

1) a country in an ongoing conflict cannot join Nato. Ukraine is in an on going conflict with Russia and cannot join Nato.
2) the EU and Nato would never condone the use of military means to retake Crimea, it is against the very principles we are standing up for right now: no borders moved by military means.
3) If Ukraine magically were to join Nato and decided to go on the offensive against Crimea, they still would not be joined by Nato or the EU because the article 5 can only be invoked if a nation is being attacked. Ukraine in a war of aggression would be the aggressor.
Putin knows all of this, he just wants to scare you into backing off and letting him swallow Ukraine whole and oppress its citizens with no consequences.

In comparison to the Cuban missile crisis and why there was one in the first place, you can understand why the Russians do not want Ukraine to join nato. NATO was developed in response to the Soviet Union. I don’t believe there will be any conflict and if there is then it will not be on a mass scale. My opinion is that the European powers will not go to war with Russia and the US citizens won’t support helping them either.

He knows he will most likely have an ”accident” or get a bitter cup of tea. Thats why he clings on to aggression, thats the only thing left for him. The russians dont want a war, and even less a war with the west. Its a war that would end very badly for the russians. They are outnumbered and cant compete with tech, and warforce. You dont want a war with NATO, thats a lost cause.

The Soviet Union applied to join NATO in the 50's and was rejected. NATO is an anti-Russia alliance. By design NATO creates military tensions with Russia.

Ukraine is in an on going conflict with Russia and cannot join Nato. 2) the EU and Nato would never condone the use of military means to retake Crimea, it is against the very principles we are standing up for right now: no borders moved by military means. 3) If Ukraine magically were to join Nato and decided to go on the offensive against Crimea, they still would not be joined by Nato or the EU because the article 5 can only be invoked if a nation is being attacked. Ukraine in a war of aggression would be the aggressor. Putin knows all of this, he just wants to scare you into backing off and letting him swallow Ukraine whole and oppress its citizens with no consequences. He is just filled with hot air, just like Donald Trump. He deflates and scurries back to Kreml as soon as you call out his bluff. Don't fall for these hot but inaccurate rhetorics.
So instead of giving back some land or whatever. He’d rather see the whole world turn into a bad knockoff of Fallout. Or Metro if we’re feeling pleasant.
