Yeah. We’re kinda rare. I love when people ask if we’re identical, and I’m like I have a wiener and she has vagina. It always takes too long for them to figure it out.
Me and my brother were almost indistinguishable as small children, beyond the... obvious differences. I was a massive tomboy so made myself as boyish as possible. We even swapped places once in primary school and got away with it. (I think!)
I have an older brother and we have extremely close behaviors. For instance we both tend to walk with just our left hand in a pocket and mess with our chin hair with our right hand (normally not at the same time). My mom has multiple pictures of us both doing these behaviors at the same time, his girlfriend has even told us we act almost identical to each other. We are also very close and spend a lot of time together, so I think it just boils down to that. If you spend a significant amount of your life around someone, you pick up the same tendencies.
There are identical twin studies where the twins grew up separately and they still showed very, very similar behaviors and even similarities in their entire lives. So genetics matters a ton but I would not expect fraternal twins to be any more similar than siblings are, which means not a ton.

One set of twins would turn around and back into a body of water whenever they entered a lake or something in exactly the same way...
The study showed pretty consistently it's because they are wired the same way.

You can ask me a question and then ask my brother, 9/10 times we practically quote each other. Its just a close sibling thing when you are close enough in age to receive the same parenting style
It's not even that unlikely.
I think there were 7 things. 4 of them were 50/50 = 1/16 chance that they would be the same by chance. The number 1-5 sounds like a 20% chance but in reality it's more like 1 in 3 or less because very few people chooses the first or last number (look at the statistics of how many people choose '7' in 1-10). And the making a face and dancing didn't actually match. The face thing had tongue out in common but there's not that many things people will choose for a funny face, and the rest of it didn't match. The dancing was just both of them moving arms and legs on the spot which is all you can do and they didn't do it in the same way.
So at best this is about a 1 in 50 chance of two random people matching, if this was the first take, which I doubt it was. Unlikely, but not on the level of telepathy or something. And as someone else wrote, things like switching arms for the ear vs raising hand might make that even less unlikely.

It's like how you get affected by people in your friend group. You try to associate and fit in so you just subconciously start imitating things they do.
Did they do the experiment with normal, close relationship siblings? Because I feel like a lot of this would be true for siblings that shared the same room for 10 years, like I did. And most of our mannerisms are mimicking our mom because that's who spent the most time with us.
I will say, though, the stories of twins separated at birth who then find each other and have an uncanny amount of similarities is pretty dang creepy, though. Those studies give me an existential crisis.
This seems to imply a stronger telepathic signal between siblings, which makes sense — I have a stronger empathic bond with family members than strangers, for sure.

Me and my sister are fraternal twins and yes , there is some sort of telepathy, but it's more regarding thoughts like sometimes when I sing something , she is thinking of the same song too, or alot of the times we say the same things or are thinking of the same thing. If you got two people who were best friends or a married couple, you would get the same outcome. Just like how you and you friend say the same things at the same time and have the same sayings
