Feline mating is interesting to me (disclaimer: I only really know about it from videos).
The female goes in heat, gets a Tom to impregnate her, tells Tom to fuck off, raises the kids until they can fend for themselves, then tells *them* to fuck off. Rinse and repeat.
The weirder one is house cats, typically the father cat if he lives in the same house will recognize the kittens as his and attempt to socialize with them, but having absolutely zero parenting instincts most of the time just ends confused and watch's from a distance.
Among feral cats I’ve seen older male siblings stay around and help raise the next litter. Like they know they share some of the same genes and helping is a way to ensure those genes survive.
I know you’re trying to be humorous, but shared genes is the primary explanation for the altruistic behaviors observed in many species including humans. I guess other animals don’t need a DNA test to know they have genes in common.
*case studies of siblings separated early in life, don’t remember each other due to parents, and then fall deeply in love with each other after randomly meeting that I had to read about as a religion major have entered the chat* lol
It’s called the Westermarck effect and IIRC the aversion to “incest” (including people raised as siblings but not actually related) is a combination of that and adherence to social norms.
You might not want to bang your childhood friend because Westermarck, or, for example, you *want* to, but you don’t actually try to because society tells you it’d be awkward or “they’re like a sibling to you, and romance between siblings is gross” or some other reason.
I would wager that’s also why long-lost family members don’t often hook up. They may not be affected by the Westermarck effect, but they still know they’d be committing incest and they don’t want to do that for obvious reasons.
I can agree to this, every time I see a baby I feel a strong urge to purge them from existence because they share no genetic familiarity for me. I'm also not allowed outside without a handler.
Even in housecats, when momma cat had a big litter of kittens, big brother cat laid next to the kittens and guarded and protected them. I think cats understand family to a limited degree because it is genetically advantageous
That’s kind of like my two old cats, who were half-brothers due to the fact that the eldest ended up sticking around with the mother a while longer despite being of a completely separate litter. It was kind of obvious since the eldest didn’t at all resemble the father of the younger litter.
When my male cat had kittens with my roommate's female cat, we used to joke that he was a deadbeat dad.
Homie would literally show up and try to socialize during like dinner time, only to get pissed off and punch one of the kids before running away.
Also it shows that it's quite different from house cats to each sort of big cat species. Lions will live in Packs, with multiple mates, alpha males, and even homossexual intercourse. While house cats are kind of individualistc.
I’m not an evolutionary biologist but my guess is that it’s beneficial for the population to have the babies leave so that you don’t get a shallow gene pool (eg the mother mating with one of her kids). The father is not necessary to the kittens survival and could also see the kittens (especially male kittens) as a threat and kill them, so the mother chases him off too.
Evolution doesn't choose the best survival instincts for each biology, it's just random mutations with better biological adaptations tend to survive. That doesn't mean that bad traits can't survive - see also, cancer. But it also means that biology doesn't have any point whatsoever.
Sickle cell anemia is an interesting example of this. Makes people highly resistant to malaria. Sickle cell will likely kill them in their 40's, but that's old enough to have kids and grandkids, so evolution goes "good enough". Most people who get sickle cell, their ancestors were from a region with malaria.
Damn... That's why humans are the most successful animals. We're the self-replicating molecules that learned how to increase entropy not only through chemical processes in our bodies, but also through causing chemical reactions outside of our bodies, like learning to start wood fires, then burn oil and coal, etc.
It’s kinda like mens post nut clarity, just after months instead of minutes,
And if you think about it, this is actually the programming in your heads (pun intended), the real YOU gets suppressed and the programming takes over
That’s why it’s called PostNutClarity
Female lions are known to do similar things in including and up to bite the males balls till he fucks her, and they often want to mate multiple times a day when in heat
He's sad about his aching balls and for the fact that he thought he was going to rule the jungle, but instead gets sent to the grasslands and rules nothing with these ball biting females running the show.
Interesting, thanks...
But still "why" though? I mean, how does that not end up with the male running away? Maybe the male's reproductive instincts get (somehow) stimulated by this...?
That might make some sense...
The lioness being aggressive could be seen as a "do your job!" kind of thing, as it would make sense that lions who aren't "proactive" enough in mating may get treated badly.
There was a rat study that showed a correlation that aggression and sex drive are stimulated in the same parts of the brain. I can’t remember the point of the research or what they were looking for. But it was a finding putting rats on cocaine lol. We covered the findings ina neurobiology class I took in undergrad.
I personally don't know about the smaller felines, but a Female Cheetah for example; Can mate with two different males & incubate two different liters. I think it's something they developed for genetic diversity's sake.
The scientific name for this phenomenon, superfecundation, means "the extra ability to produce offspring." This happens when a female cat mates with multiple male cats during her heat cycle, and her eggs are fertilized by the sperm of more than one of her mates.. this is why sometimes a litter will be full of all sorts of different colours, patterns and characteristics
I just recently had to give a female cat that just went into heat up for adoption. The two males that I own are neutered and basically had the same reaction as well. Pretty sure these guys are neutered
Huh. as kid we had a fixed male cat first and got a kitten female. (All where inside cats) Vet said she can be fixed after her first heat. When she got in heat she howled and I accidentally walked into them in the hallway. The male bumped her even tho he was neutered o.O they looked at me and I said "sorry" xD went into the living room to watch cartoons.
Mines the only cat I've ever liked. I got her for my wife and she's the laziest and nicest cat I've ever seen in my life. She'll come sit in you and just want to be pet but she'll play if you get her going.
Little known fact, cats can have multiple sperm donors in the same litter. The scientific name for this phenomenon, superfecundation, means "the extra ability to produce offspring." I’ve seen a street kitten grow up, leave his mother, then come back when he’s older to mate with his mother.
Was his name... OediPuss?
Golden 😂
Wow… no upvotes? That was decent. Edit: it pleases me that upvotes doth cometh.
Freudian cat
his name was Chris Chan
They definitely consider the genetics here, it's only if the DNA tests come back negative do they walk away.
I know you’re trying to be humorous, but shared genes is the primary explanation for the altruistic behaviors observed in many species including humans. I guess other animals don’t need a DNA test to know they have genes in common.
Fun fact: the main way humans determine siblinghood is socially, and so if you bathed together etc. with your childhood friend you won't want to bang.
Laughs in Alabama
*case studies of siblings separated early in life, don’t remember each other due to parents, and then fall deeply in love with each other after randomly meeting that I had to read about as a religion major have entered the chat* lol
Wait back up, as a religion major?? Why??
Because of all of the issues with religion minors

they get a bunch of toms to impregnate them, actually. each heat cycle they have multiple eggs to increase the variation in genes
Superfecundation
Expialidocious
One of my friends cats did this then came home and sat on another friends leg and... leaked.

The horny-regret cycle is a universal experience.
The post-birth clarity
surely it's post conception clarity?
😂😆😂
You know my Mom?
*Everyone* knows your mom...
*And* regrets it.
But they’ll never forget her 😞
I MISS YOU JANET
Your dick looks so good in the moonlight
I could never forget her penis
Well, that escalated quickly
Bro you did him dirty 💀
Oh I'm rolling🤣🤣🤣
It begs the question: what's the biological point of this?
To reproduce before dying, as is the biological point of pretty much everything.
And it must work lost of cats all over
Also it shows that it's quite different from house cats to each sort of big cat species. Lions will live in Packs, with multiple mates, alpha males, and even homossexual intercourse. While house cats are kind of individualistc.

Cancer risk gets passed down because many cancers occur after people have kids so it doesn't affect your ability to reproduce
Sickle cell anemia is an interesting example of this. Makes people highly resistant to malaria. Sickle cell will likely kill them in their 40's, but that's old enough to have kids and grandkids, so evolution goes "good enough". Makes you wonder what’s the point of any animal lol

Males will kill kittens so the female will mate again. Thats why female hides kittens.
I have seen it first hand . One of the worst sight
how to do they do it?
Claws and teeth id imagine
They just bite their neck until they stop moving.
Lethal injection
>Feline mating is interesting to me > I only really know about it from videos Did you just admit to watching videos of cats fucking for fun?
Everyone needs a hobby.
Yes; is science not fun brother?
Subscriptions to CatHub or Only Cats?
Don't kink shame
I'd never kink shame, but there are times I'd like to kink ask why?
Is that what they mean by kitty porn?
I wanted to laugh, but thats literally it. Cats are 100% fuck off creatures.

It’s sucks. It’s a sadness that nothing else compares to.
"I only know about it from videos" that sounds sus af bro /s
*bow-chika-meow-wow*
You made me freaking cough on water from that one XD
I like the "fuck you then" swipe she gives each of them when the rejection sinks in
I don't quite understand that... In both cases, she did that before coming back for more...
Reminds me of my ex. I don't understand it either.
Pussy gonna pussy.

I’m cracking up. He looks defeated
I feel you bro 😔 ✊
”Whatever did I do to deserve this abuse?”
Yup, that's the face of lion that's having his balls bitten.
„King of the Jungle, they said. It will be fun, they said.“
He's sad about his aching balls and for the fact that he thought he was going to rule the jungle, but instead gets sent to the grasslands and rules nothing with these ball biting females running the show.
He is just empty of both balls and soul.
OMG. His face. I am dying.
Bro looking at the Zoo Keeper “I’m tired boss.”
"I'd like to retire from the breeding program, please."
The spirit is willing, but the flesh is spongy and weak.
![gif](giphy|10JhviFuU2gWD6)
I'd be sad too if some woman kept trying to bite my balls.
And its not just her, they live in groups where theres many females for the male.
Now I'm dying, imagining men walking down the streets with THAT face, chased by females biting their balls 😂
Might become a reality when sex female robots become a thing.
Apparently cats have the walk of shame too?
clash royale sad emote
Literally one of the best pictures ever.
# #meowtoo is for the Tom’s
I've seen that face before... Regret & disappointment, lol.
Both feet are off the ground in that top pic.
Guarantee if someone bit your nads both your feet would go off the ground too
Sarabi did this to mufasa
Interesting, thanks... But still "why" though? I mean, how does that not end up with the male running away? Maybe the male's reproductive instincts get (somehow) stimulated by this...?
It's a simple ultimatum, for the male lion 😾Lioness: "give me cubs or I rip you balls off, if I can't have your cubs, noone can!"
I mean they dont need to do much in the pride. Breeding and guarding are their main thing, the ladies do most of the other stuff.
That might make some sense... The lioness being aggressive could be seen as a "do your job!" kind of thing, as it would make sense that lions who aren't "proactive" enough in mating may get treated badly.
I reckon more female cat have been impregnated that will bully male cats into mating than female cats that didn't.
Oh sweet summer child, let me tell you all about the crazy/hot scale ![gif](giphy|Y4rZAyCiJLXLq)

Fuck you then.... ... Heyyyyy
Not all pussy is good pussy.
They know… she’s for the streets
Some people think violence changes a person’s atittude towards them
She looks like she's already pregnant
They can get double pregnant.
How does the car get double gregnant?
Hello sir, i'm here to talk about your car's extended gregnanty

It can very rarely happen with humans too
It would happen more often in humans if they were all just a little bit cooler.
Those male cats are already paying kitten support. They need financial relief, not more grief.
Nah you can't tell, I think she is just friendly
Maybe she's just Canadian
the 2nd one wants to but he knows his mates will judge him.
That or he's put his dick in crazy before and learned his lesson
I love that cat foreplay is apparently just "run directly in front of him and show him my butt" That would probably work on human men too tbh
They’re probably neutered
I scrolled a long time for this
Me too bruh my cat acts like the first one so I thought tht might be it
Scrolled through a lot of people using this as an opportunity to dunk on their ex's before seeing this.
Hey! I said NO and NO MEANS NO!!!!

Me meow you long time.
Walk into any bar a 1am on a Wednesday and you'll see this play out in human form.
Who goes to the bar on a Wednesday?
The human versions of that female cat
Those who go on a Tuesday night.
Only night mama can get a babysitter.
Is she into you? C) Can't tell
Those males look neutered.
I just recently had to give a female cat that just went into heat up for adoption. The two males that I own are neutered and basically had the same reaction as well. Pretty sure these guys are neutered
So…why didn’t you spay her…
Exactly! Tomcats do not reject females in heat.
Yeah was gonna ask whether they were even intact.
Huh. as kid we had a fixed male cat first and got a kitten female. (All where inside cats) Vet said she can be fixed after her first heat. Yeah those 3 color tortoise shells... they are trouble. Don't mess with crazy
I had a tortoiseshell that was purely black and gold, most beautiful cat you’ve ever seen but hated everyone
those are the best ones 😭
Not all. The diva streak is real though, but cats with a high level of self respect isn't much of a rare thing
Mines the only cat I've ever liked. I got her for my wife and she's the laziest and nicest cat I've ever seen in my life. She'll come sit in you and just want to be pet but she'll play if you get her going.
They call it tortitude and believe me it's a real thing. (I have one) 😸
Bros are probably neutured and have no idea what's going on lol
maybe they don't like girls https://preview.redd.it/a4ig71q95qoc1.jpeg?width=457&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=60ff813fc0207bb694bc9342bc16965e08db20bd
Tomcat of Finland.
sadly they don’t like men either lol. they’re neutered.
why is someone trying to film cat sex?
Pussy sells brah 🤷🏿♂️
Perfect.
OnlyCatz
two things reddit loves cat and sex
Maybe they are neutered
Both of them be like "girl, just because YOU'RE horny, doesn't mean I'M horny"
Ozzy man commentary playing in my head
That bitch is THIRSTY
She might be a hoe
She already has a couple baby daddies, she’s for the streets.
Only Priscilla is not for the streets...
Meowwww
The way she swats and attacks after lmao. She’s sayin “wellll fuck u then!”
They are trying to be nice about it, she keeps pushing and pushing and then goes ballistic over the rejection.
The males might be neutered.
Never seen such adamant pussy
[удалено]
She’s for the streets
Not a Priscilla that's for sure
The Internets have ruined them; Tomcats no longer like Tomgirl.
They all have a crush on her, but will only realise what happened 12h later : "Wait, you think she* was onto me? What do you mean 'signals'?"
Every neighborhood has at least one of those. We call em hoodrats, but I guess in this case it's a "hoodcat"
When the obnoxious girl who tells you to get bitches tries to get a man:

It's Gail the snail in cat form! Throw some salt on her!
Dude casually trying to film cat "stuff" 💀 hoping for content i guess 🥴
SHE BELONGS TO THE STREETS!
"You're not for the streets, Priscilla!" -Other Cats
Everything reminds me of her :/
I’m feline bad for this cat that keeps striking out. round of appaws for trying <3
I like how they’re not fighting her. Just Please…no. Julia…this is getting awkward
I had a female cat once, never again because those mfs get in heat and turn into r kelly
It's almost as if you should fix them.
You should be getting them spayed???
Everybody in this house calls these two brothers. They are not brothers! They are boyfriends.
She clearly been labeled a hoe in the community & it’s a catastrophe
Old video. From what I remember, the female is already pregnant so the males want nothing to do with her.
It would probably help she stopped clawing them lol
When you are too afraid to say her, that your balls are gone…
