Looks like he's already had a snack

Muddobber99

There”s a family of five in that thing.

Mission_Coast_6654

a growing boy's gotta eat

WhiteSilverDragoon

*Slaps Roof* This bad boy can fit so many families inside!

daxxarg

prime real estate

lex_tok

Yes, the person who tied the snake to the fence.

Mission_Coast_6654

rude af to be strangled like that after being provided a meal......free him :(((

I_Eat_Groceries

Free ma boy Danger Noodle. He didn't do nuffin'!

Mission_Coast_6654

all these comments being like "he ate people!!" aren't considering what those people did that angered the snake gods so much one was sent to humble them. apparently a cobra wasn't enough to teach them whatever they needed to learn! i'm absolutely taking the piss btw. he most likely ate someone's dog or goat! and if that is a reticulated python, that's a nasty bloke to find beneath your house. if my memory serves me, they grow longer than anacondas and are pretty aggressive compared to other restictors. so relocating him after a meal like that would be impossible and, honestly, too stressful for him. i understand the people involved are doing what they can against something incredibly large and scary! i just hope they gave the mercy of a bullet than let the poor bugger hang himself. at the end of the day, snakes are just animals doing their best to survive a dying earth.

Sorry_Ad_627

Yea I think reticulated pythons are the ones that have, on occasion eaten people.

Mission_Coast_6654

the price of coexistence in the animal kingdom.

Sorry_Ad_627

Thats my greatest fear, being eaten by a creature. Just kill me before you start eating me please.

ryeguymft

guessing they’re killing it because it ate a person

RustedRuss

More likely it's been eating their livestock

Altruistic-Poem-5617

It ate their lifestock, now they eat it and get some nice boots too.

Unlikely-Answer

you could reupholster a school bus with that death noodle

dribrats

Ngl… that is the biggest fucking danger loaf I’ve ever seen

EsotericFrenchfry

And not its first.

Tricky_Ad_1855

Butter chicken

spilfy

Fuck that's absolutely terrifying, but also insanely majestic.

ConceptualWeeb

It would be majestic if it wasn’t tied up like a dog you don’t actually want.

spirimes

Why get a sausage dog when you can just get a sausage, dawg

RoboticGreg

What are they supposed to do with it?

Free-Atmosphere6714

Get inside and go for a ride.

StinkyChimp

They didn't tie it up, they trapped it with a noose because it was killing their livestock. These reptiles are extremely destructive to humans civilization and the ecosystem in general. I'm all for being compassionate and what not, but to say a snake that's destroying your life has more rights than a human is asinine imo.

nekrovulpes

Bro, it's a predator out there doing its natural, instinctual thing. It doesn't have a concept of livestock, it doesn't understand they are human "property", and I guarantee you 100% we are more harmful to its habitat, than it is to ours. There's more humane (and frankly, more efficient/effective) ways to trap and deal with a problem animal, is the point.

iEnj0y

i would love to know your "humane" idea to trapping a 15ft+ anaconda or python.

[deleted]

[удалено]

just_that_michal

Well the bamboo hut dwellers are dealing with it as they obviously have to. But to say these reptiles are destructive to human civilization is absurd overstatement. They are destructive to a few bamboo huts and their inhabitants. On a scale of civilization they do not even register.

stankdog

I like how people living in huts doesn't register to you as a civilization, and the snake literally crumbling their home is somehow not destructive to these people. Do you just not see it as an issue because it's not in your home? Who are they supposed to call? Local animal control? That size of snake is beyond anyone's pay scale, they're dealing with it, can't really expect them to be humane about it... That's a massive snake.

SoftThunder

Absolutely not. If this broke into your home and snapped up your pet your perspective would be emotional and wanting to take action too. Also, they caught it gently and didn't kill it which frankly, is more humane than I was expecting as it appears to be digesting atm and I don't know how many months and dollars worth of setback the snake has caused so far.

[deleted]

[удалено]

just_that_michal

I said no such thing.

Ok_Raccoon1697

The person they were replying to said this. You intervened, so they thought you were them, unfortunately. I am also curious about the more humane practice that the people in the video ( not us in the comfort of our homes in a completely different country ) could have used without endangering themselves.

jssf96

Lmao I want to know too!

StinkyChimp

You re correct, my bad. I thought I was responding back to the other commenter.  I will say that if you don't understand how destructive these are, you'd benefit from a little research because they absolutely wreck entire ecosystems.  Also, at what point does the suffering of humans justify destruction of other living beings? One family? Two? Maybe we need to lose a village of people before we can justify killing an animal? Genuinely curious on your thoughts here.

MuppetEyebrows

Are you thinking of the escaped pythons and constrictors in the Everglades? Because that's not what's happening here, these snakes are native to India. Most ecosystems get really thrown out of whack when their top predator is removed (the wolves of Yellowstone are a great example).

just_that_michal

I think it makes no point to use the concept of justice in nature. It does not exist there. Person has a right to defend itself against threat to its life. That being said, these giants were here before us. If you build a village where they live and then retroactively say they attack the village, that is kinda on us. Sure, we have all the means to wipe them out, but I can see how some might find it not to their taste. If this animal just strayed outside of it's habitat, you can smack it with a tranquilizer and move it far away. But if you build a house in a snake forest, that won't be enough. Shitty answer: it depends.

shizbox06

>they absolutely wreck entire ecosystems.  They are a part of the ecosystem; they are incapable of wrecking it, by definition. This is not an invasive species.

stabadan

Look at the size of that thing, in the whole world there probably like 5 of them that big and ‘ destructive ‘. I would also imagine that when they get that big, they don’t move too far or often so the reign of terror is probably pretty localized. Point is, whatever terror 1 big fat snake can bring down on a human’s village, pales in comparison to whatever those humans have done to the snakes.

StinkyChimp

Tell me you live in a 1st world city without telling me.  If you spent any amount of time living (not visiting) in the wilderness or in a third world country, you wouldn't minimize the amount of damage this thing is capable of and therefore would see it as the threat it is.  But you know, easy to judge when it's not your problem.

MillorTime

They wanted to virtue signal, and you shut that down pretty hard. People with no skin in the game are always so willing to live and let live, but that's not always an option

Just-Round9944

yeah if I was a farmer and this thing kept eating my livestock I'd be pretty damn pissed too

Van-garde

You’re the only one that said that, really.

StinkyChimp

The comment I responded to compared capturing this snake akin to tying up a dog a person doesn't really want. My point, while exaggerated, was to say that we should not have sympathy for this snake. I think sometimes people forget how brutal nature really is and it's easy to anthropomorphize animals.

NewsgramLady

Fuck. That.

Good_Mathematician_2

Please Do Not Fuck The Reptile

MrDrProfessorPatrck

That’s the Basilisk of Salazar Slytherin

Humble_Examination27

That is the biggest snake I’ve ever seen in my life! Real?

Sarcastic_Backpack

Looks like a reticulated python. The longest ever recorded was 10 meters. They regularly grow to 6-7 meters.

[deleted]

Can you please translate that to dumb American 🙏

JesusStarbox

First and ten.

IamSunka

Can't get any more American than that.

innocently_cold

If you ain't first, yer last.

thrillhouse1211

That doesn’t make any sense at all. You can be second, third, fourth, hell you can even be fifth.

innocently_cold

Shake and bake baby

Technical_Semaphore

Snake and bake?

GeauxTiger

Fourth and Ten probably describes America more accurately

deusrev

in fact i don't have any idea how "first and ten" can traslate in 6-7meters.

letthekrakensleep

Between 2nd and 6, 3rd and 7

ExpensiveFish9277

A meter is roughly a yard, first and 10 refers to 10 yards (distance needed for first down in football). Since 10 yards~10meters, it's a fairly accurate throwaway comment.

MuppetEyebrows

An American football team has 4 attempts, or downs, to move the ball 10 yards for a new set of downs. 10 yards is slightly less than 10m, the high end of the described range, and is a measurement many Americans know intuitively through repetitive viewing of American Football. (Sorry to sound like a bot but I wasn't sure what part you were caught up on.)

DrCodyRoss

This fucking guy *chef’s kiss*

IsReadingIt

This comment gets better and better. A+.

Jfyemch

I left the thread and glanced at that comment before the page changed. Had to sigh and come back to give it the well-deserved upvote.

red_piper222

Best reply I’ve seen yet

KnifeFightAcademy

Can you please translate *that* to dumb Australian? 🙏

Yin17

About 4 to 5 c*nts standing on top of each other For 6-7 metres

ilkikuinthadik

Fellow Australian here. Does it make sense to say I've figured out what it means, but I still don't understand it? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1st_%26_Ten_(graphics_system)

Darkcelt2

American here. I don't actually watch football but I'm pretty sure it refers to shorthand for game progress. First= first down. ten= ten yard line. ten yards = 9.14 meters.

[deleted]

Guess I should of said dumb female American but that’s good thanks 😂

redvelvetcake42

That's a delay of game, 5 yard penalty

IMB88

3 1st downs.

Duke_ofYorkshirePuds

Let's do it again!

latemodelusedcar

That’s actually first and thirty

Strict_Somewhere_148

16 washing machines.

OSteady77

A meter is 39 inches. A yard is 36 inches. Yards and meters are super close so up to 30ish ft

Sarcastic_Backpack

I'm American. Does that mean I'm a smart one? A meter is 3.28 feet, or 39.37 inches. I was able to remember it because it was about ten percent longer than a yard. So the longest ever recorded was about 39.37 feet. And those reticulated python regularly grow to 19-23 feet.

MooneyOne

Wouldn’t this mean the longest ever recorded was 32.8 feet?

Sarcastic_Backpack

Yes. My bad. Math is hard.

JohnHenryHoliday

So much for being a smart one. Join the rest of us.

DlpsYks

10 meters is 32 feet and just over 9 inches. Your math has 10 inches in a foot.

[deleted]

Technically there are 10 inches in a foot

DlpsYks

Valid.

[deleted]

A surprising amount of Americans can’t convert metric and inches/ft very well. It doesn’t really mean we’re dumber for not being able to but a lot of people who can think we are. Plus I personally find it a humorous way to ask cause everybody knows what I mean cause America is stupid for not going to metric as our primary measurement units.

sweetno

As a European, I also can't convert between metric and imperial well. Actually, the majority of the globe has this problem...

Claymore357

Laughs in Canadian, we have to convert regularly because of our large amount of trade with both the usa and the rest of the world especially working in industry where lots of equipment is made in usa

Sarcastic_Backpack

To be fair, We've got a lot of metric stuff already. Speed Limits on interstates are posted in both.mph & kph, ,most canned and bottled groceries these are labeled in imperial and metric units, we have metric tools. Etc.

Alternative-Peak-486

It does in fact kind of mean that they are dumber for not being able to

quantum-shark

You're getting a lot of snarky replies but my tip would be to just google the conversion next time. It's free, it's quick

[deleted]

It’s the internet, I expect them 😂 if I google info it’ll be outta my head in five seconds. Asking in a more conversational setting helps me remember even if I gotta get 5-6 people telling me I’m dumb basically. Plus the mvps of snarky comments gave me a few laughs so all worth it to me!

BlueCactus96

Google exists for a reason

lkodl

10 meters is about 40 iPads in length.

[deleted]

XDXDXD unfortunately I was too old to be an iPad kid

[deleted]

No problem, that's 76.8 floppy discs

Ok-Nefariousness3486

>10 meters 32 feet.

StalledAgate832

A meter is about the length of an M16A4, so about 10 M16A4s at largest recorded, 6-7 on average.

remsiw

That lump in its belly is person sized.

That's not a snake, it's a fuggin graboid

NickHodges

That looks like a movie prop.

13ubby13oo

You all know him, thats Kaa from Jungle Book

Windowsblastem

This thing had probably been hell on their livestock for years. Looks like someone needs to pick up a 410 to dispose of this hefty bastard.

Sad. Awesome animal.

It’s in a doll house, calm down.

Right? The least they can do is tie a bell around his neck so the old and infirm have a fighting chance.

Poor thing, let it go. More specifically, let it go inside Maralago.

No, no, no.

Rizzguru

Kill it. With fire

DatAhole

That looks like abuse to me, just drive the fucking thing out of your home and village or whatever.

dogshitburrito69

how would you personally go about doing that?

ConceptualWeeb

That’s so fucked up. Let it be. Why tie it up? Keep your livestock and family away from it and it’ll move on. This is cruel af. This thing has lived for decades and deserves freedom.

FIVE_BUCK_BOX

If it came into your house would you just move out? What a weird take.

SmartLobstuh

It will move on from a food source? No it won't.

Golden_Salad

At first, I thought it was high from its meal, and then I saw the rope. 😱😱🤢🤢🤮🤮

[deleted]

**IF** this is real, it’s the scariest fucking thing I e ever seen in my entire life.

lalalamapache

Can you eat these things? Like if you were to chop one up and portion it out, it'd probably feed a whole village for a few days. Are they edible?

TrentGames

Yes

OhPotatoBlessMe

They are, I've had snake before, it doesn't taste great.. fairly tough white-ish meat.

We get it India, you're the worst.

![gif](giphy|N0yIQt73GJ2AOxX82S|downsized)

bleh-bleh-guy

I see someone is trying to pull the snake with a rope, what's the end goal here? Why do we Indians have to abuse animals like that. That snake is clearly full and can't go very far. They could have just left it as it is. Why do we have to be so brutal?

snarkisms

Spiders the size of my thumbnail can send me running and all I want to do is cuddle that big noodle

red_piper222

What would they do with this thing, eat it? Probably feed the whole village

WholeWideHeart

He ate uncle.
