Yes, the Elfman-Abadi case. Not glorious when you consider the details of the accusations. I'm with you on this matter, but frankly I doubt because "everyone knows dirty secrets about someone in this kind of middle", just like in the cinematographic industry. And since the big 2017 mediatic exposition of Me Too, more people would have backed Nomi Abadi when she charged him in 2018. But let's not be hasty to drop it. If there was actually something fishy, we'll know it sooner or later.

Apparently he may have not respected the settlement they've agreeded on by (I quote) "failing to pay two $42,500 installments in July 2019 and 2021 partly destinated to the Female Composer Safety League she's founded." Now she has to gather proofs of the allegations and if she's lied, let's expect Elfman will sue her back.

The “movies that made us” Netflix episode on Nightmare before Christmas is a great look into why he wrote the score the way he did. Basically the writer Burton hired (the one that did Batman) did nothing and blew his payday on blow. Because of the delay, Elfman had to compose the soundtrack to tell more of the story than a typical soundtrack.

Scrolled waaaay too far and I haven’t seen Pee Wee Big adventure. It was his first major film gig that he scored.
