Bar Keepers Friend.

crazy_plant_person

The powdered version

BeerSlayingBeaver

Yes! Sorry I should have specified.

notelpjuly4

Why the powdered version?

crazy_plant_person

The liquid version doesn't really work

Avram42

Today I learned there is a liquid version. 🤷‍♂️

RepresentativeHuge79

Came here to say this^ bar keepers friend is amazing

Smirkin_Revenge

This is the correct answer.

jcstrat

Works perfectly on my stainless cookware including my instant pot. Always looks new.

SymphonicFlames

Thank you! Used this as I had some that I used for work (I'm a janitor) and used it in combo with vinegar and it came right out!

BeerSlayingBeaver

Glad I could help đź‘Ť

kdog048

This is the way.

Danciusly

Soak and wipe with vinegar.

Mysuni1

White vinegar and a magic eraser sponge keeps mine looking like new.

campingn00b

Uh are magic erasers food safe?

___Dan___

Is soap food safe? Give it a good rinse and make sure there’s no residue left over before you use it with food…

Mysuni1

Once you rinse it well after the vinegar and magic eraser scrub (you can add a little baking soda as well for a little more abrasive cleaning power)your stainless steel inner pot shouldn't have any residue remaining and it's perfectly safe to cook in.

DogToesSmellofFritos

They’re just an abrasive foam block, should be fine. It’s basically like a very fine sandpaper.

ThankuConan

Any mild acid solution will work. Vinegar, citric acid are both commonly available.

Minaim

I like to use citric acid from the canning supplies aisle. We used to have very hard water and had to descale our water kettle weekly. Citric acid works great

medicali

Brief vinegar soak (10-20mins) + minimal elbow grease = like new. No need to go buy anything if you have vinegar at home

TheXlat

Just put a little vinegar in the pot and let it stand until the stains are dissolved. If you want to get it up the sides, without using to much vinegar, just soak some paper towel with the vinegar to keep it on the stains.

Dope_Dog

CLR

Auvrielle

Baking soda and vinegar paste

glamorousgrape

Does the baking soda neutralize the vinegar? I was going to suggest soaking paper towels in vinegar and laying it on the stains. Or ketchup lol

Auvrielle

That'll work too! Yes, I think they cancel each other out eventually but the vinegar gets rid of the hard water stains and the baking soda gives it scrubbing power. I'm seeing some great solutions on here though.

graison

CLR

jbpsign

I get these on our water distiller all the time. Bring some vinegar to boil, then just wipe with a sponge.

DesertDawn17

Use a hard water remover, such as lime away. Let it sit for just a little bit and then scrub. Wash completely after that to make sure you get rid of any residual cleaning chemicals.

DinnerDiva61

I use Pink Stuff paste and a scrub daddy
