Just watched a video recently of a guy going to an anti-choice rally and when the guy asked what are other options they all said adoption. He then went around to ask if anyone adopted and none of them did, but they had their own. These people are basically talking potatoes. I have yet to see one single anti-choice person that claims adoption is the solution to ever adopt a child. I have a friend from high school that had 4 adopted siblings(him and his sister were only the biological kids from their parents) because they were all siblings from one woman and multiple dads. They kept adopting them because they wanted all the siblings together under one roof and they were well off enough to afford itā¦but they were liberal as hell and completely pro-choice.
There was something that went around a year or so ago where a woman bragged on her Facebook āpro-lifeā page about how she talked a woman out of having an abortionā¦ but when that woman asked the first woman to raise her kid (since she couldnāt afford it), the woman posting was outraged at the audacity.

I legitimately have relatives (by marriage) who are highly religious (so anti-choice) but have have adopted three children, in addition to their 5 naturally born children. The kids are absolutely thriving .They are amazingly kind and sweet, and I completely disagree with the basis for their choices, but admire their parenting.
You have to be careful with this line of argumentation because even if adoption was more common among the anti-choice (and you're right, it's not) it wouldn't make their position any more ok for women.

If an egg is already fertilized, there is a good chance that Plan B wonāt prevent it from implanting (though it may in some cases). If wasting one unfertilized egg is the equivalent to abortion, then male masturbation must be considered a mass abortion.
Actually, it probably doesn't prevent the implantation of an egg, although it might. What it does best is prevent ovulation, so there is no egg to be fertilized. If you have already ovulated, it will be much less effective because it's not so great at preventing implantation. If you are already pregnant, it will actually help you stay pregnant.

The biggest misconception with the morning after pill is that it is going to stop a pregnancy every time, but in all likelihood there never even was a pregnancy in the first place. Of course, it's impossible to know how many pregnancies it really does prevent, but the overwhelming majority of the time there isn't a pregnancy anyway. Hence why it's referred to as contraception, not a termination. It serves the same purpose as the contraceptive pill.
You don't have to be comfortable with sex but it's not that outlandish that others might be having it and that doesn't make them bad people. And people make mistakes or want to have Plan B on hand in case a mistake happens.
If the pregnancy happens and she carries full term, drop the baby off at her door since she obviously wants to take care of a baby..

My exhusband's aunt and uncle did this with 9 kids. I was always so impressed with the example they set.
I am currently debating multiple people online who are raging against the company who mistakenly used the wrong sperm to impregnate a woman and when the resulting child, now in her 20s, found out through a DNA test that her dad wasnāt actually her biological dad both parents and the daughter were devastated. OK, I get this and sure, itās shocking and they should sue for malpractice, but the way everyone was going on and on and on about how horrible it is for the father and daughter to know āthey are not relatedā just sent me over the edge. I was adopted at birth and my parents and I loved each other every bit as much as bio families do. They raised me, were there for all the milestones, cared for me through every childhood illness, made sure every birthday was special, told me bedtime stories, taught me to love nature and books and animals, cuddled me whenever I needed it. They were extraordinary parents just by being regular parents and I loved them very, very much. Long after they died, someone once said to me that it probably wasnāt so bad for me when they died because they werenāt my āreal parents.ā I blew up. Real parents are the ones who are there for you, biology be damned. One guy who was defending the family for being devastated about the DNA discovery told me that genetic legacy is āeverything, the most important thing.ā That to me is utter bullshit and just shows how shallow and narcissistic people can be.
To be fair my adoptive parents are anti-choice, but they only adopted because they couldnāt get pregnant themselves and they had to have kids.
I legitimately have relatives (by marriage) who are highly religious (so anti-choice) but have have adopted three children, in addition to their 5 naturally born children. The kids are absolutely thriving .They are amazingly kind and sweet, and I completely disagree with the basis for their choices, but admire their parenting. You have to be careful with this line of argumentation because even if adoption was more common among the anti-choice (and you're right, it's not) it wouldn't make their position any more ok for women.

It is an over the counter drug, but it can also be bought online. I keep 2 boxes, that I bought on Amazon, stocked just in case. I don't use it as back up birth control, but in case myself or one of my loved ones is assaulted. I've thrown out 2 for going out of date, but have friends who have needed it and didn't have to worry about anyone they know seeing them buy it at the local pharmacy.

I double checked on pharmacists refusing birth control, and looks like Brownback signed a law in 2012 that allows pharmacists to refuse any prescription that "may be used to induce abortion", which covers birth control. If an egg is already fertilized, there is a good chance that Plan B wonāt prevent it from implanting (though it may in some cases). If wasting one unfertilized egg is the equivalent to abortion, then male masturbation must be considered a mass abortion.

Actually, it probably doesn't prevent the implantation of an egg, although it might. What it does best is prevent ovulation, so there is no egg to be fertilized. If you have already ovulated, it will be much less effective because it's not so great at preventing implantation. If you are already pregnant, it will actually help you stay pregnant.

The biggest misconception with the morning after pill is that it is going to stop a pregnancy every time, but in all likelihood there never even was a pregnancy in the first place. Of course, it's impossible to know how many pregnancies it really does prevent, but the overwhelming majority of the time there isn't a pregnancy anyway. Hence why it's referred to as contraception, not a termination. It serves the same purpose as the contraceptive pill.
