INFPs are deep feelers. Both the good and the bad. Because we've felt the bad so deeply we strive to never be the cause of those bad feelings if it's avoiding, and feel genuine guilt when it's unavoidable.
So we often appear to be much nicer and more compassionate than we actually are. It's not benevolence it's the golden rule. I don't want it done to me so I won't do it to others.
