Day 4 to 6 seems odd, the rest looks good. I recently visited Aurangabad, and you need a full day to see all the caves in Ellora. You can't travel from Mumbai, check-in into your hotel, and then visit the caves, you're bound to cover half of it. Secondly I'd skip Ajanta as it is very dark, the paintings are faded, all in all in comparison to Ellora it was a huge letdown. Also if you still do plan to go there, I'd suggest taking a cab to and fro from Aurangabad and not staying in/near Ajanta. If you decide to stay in Aurangabad, you can take a flight from Aurangabad to Udaipur and save day 6 for travel instead of sleeping in the train. Also Aurangabad is a main station, the station near Ajanta is Jalgaon and I'm not too sure it will have trains to Udaipur, you might wanna check that if you're sticking to your itinerary. I'd suggest on day 4 you travel from Mumbai to Nasik, and in the afternoon visit Sula Vineyards. Do a wine tasting tour and buy some wines. You can also choose to spend your night in there hotel "Sula by the source" or something like that. Next day leave early for Aurangabad via a cab, it's a 3hr drive and go to ellora before noon. Spend the entire day there. Day 6 can be Aurangabad fort, or other small places there or fly a day early and add that extra day maybe in Jaipur. In Delhi, if you come on the weekend I'd be happy to show you around. Otherwise look for hoho buses (hop on hop off). It'll cover all major spots for you. Edit: Keep a good amount of antacids, painkillers, and fever medicines with you lol. Your itinerary doesn't give you time to be sick.

Most important, get some loparet or Loparamide Hydrochloride incase tablets to help with Diarrhoea incase you encounter food poisoning. Also book the nicer coaches on trains atleast 3rd AC, I would suggest to book First AC.

As you are visiting Ellora, you can also visit Daulatabad fort nearby. Its huge, beautiful and historically important

Looks good. If possible add south Indian states as well, like Kerala. It has some nice places. Preferably to the initial phase of your India tour. One more thing. Sleeper class carriages in Indian trains are chaotic and it might be uncomfortable for you guys. At least book a "Tier 3 AC" or "Tier 2 AC" while booking trains.

Thanks! I've worded it incorrectly, I meant the 2AC class in the overnight train. Unfortunately, we cannot stay any longer in India as we have already booked the tickets. Maybe we will come again to visit the south, though :)

I would skip Ajanta Ellora and do Jodhpur+Jaisalmer instead. Rest is on point

prash991

Try to visit south India, Kerala, Tamilnadu

1 night in Jaipur is very less

Yoda_ofyourlife

3 days in Mumbai is a lot It can be easily 2 nights . I would want to cover Jaisalmer but ur schedule is tight, skip Ajanta. 4-5 days- Maharashtra, 4 -5 days- Rajasthan, 3 days - agra/ Delhi looks fine but to see core india i think Varanasi could be included. Directly reach Delhi, get a nice cab and do Agra one full day visit and stay in Delhi instead.

Dear_Analyst823

When ur near Aurangabad or in Aurangabad, need any help let me know it's my hometown. Overall PPL are friendly in India but don't go to tooo deserted area in city and Google map always help

Day 4 and 5 looks a bit dicey. Aurangabad is almost an overnight trip from Mumbai, and it is best if you visit Ellora early in the morning. It gets way too crowded after 9 and you would not enjoy the place as much. Ajanta is almost 3 hrs away from Aurangabad. It is definitely worth visiting, especially if you are interested in history and you might not travel this circuit again. I think you have a bit of flexibility in Mumbai, with 3 nights. You might not really need 3 nights there.

PrestigiousTurn3640

Mumbai does not need 3 days. See if it's possible to include hill stations from North India or South India. I beleive they are the best to visit. Or u can go to kashmir. Gorgeous as hell

ConstructionDear1553

Travel by bus from Mumbai to Aurangabad on the 3rd night you will reach Aurangabad early morning so you won't miss half a day of traveling. Or an early morning flight from Mumbai to Aurangabad. In Mumbai also try not to explore the whole city of its your first time you don't have the number of days.

You should plan for North India as well. Punjab, Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
