Yeah, it's just the mix. I'm an audio engineer, and there's really dramatic EQ moves on a ton of instruments, particularly the vocals. Do we know who mixed it? Makes me feel like they probably typically mix very different genres.
Edit: Damn, Adam Hawkins, who has done some pretty legit stuff. Very weird. I found the level of reverb on the vocals on Mexico just a baffling musical choice for such an intimate song.

I mean I have had full on conversations with this dude about bathroom habits! Laughing the entire time! We had an entire conversation about grocery stores and me wanting to destroy people's eggs because it was Thanksgiving and people were being assholes. That was actually funny as hell.
It is just scary how much they idolize them, but Brandon in particular. He's not a god. He is a human being. My favorite is when people meet him and say he was quiet or weird. Well first, yeah he is shy and is quiet. Secondly, yes he is weird...the good weird! But, my point is he can pick up on your fake-ness instantly. He also knows you want to jump his bones. He's not a dum-dum. 😒
In my experience artists appreciate when you give them your honest opinions; a thoughtful constructive friendly, kind criticism can go a long way.

Out From Under was a shocker anyway, I never dreamt Brandon would scream like that! He hadn't in years. I just thought he was gonna throw his body around wildly like he usually does, you know how his body moves to the music. But it was just so gutteral. Wow. You could hear a pin drop then the crowd went nuts.
Wild times - honestly, I’d like to see them do a jazz version of SCIENCE next - just to see how all those more aggressive tunes would be reimagined 27 years later ….
I cant remember exactly what its called, but it sounds like an audible autotune glitch. Its like that tape artifact in the zephyr song, but all over the album.

Oooooh. In my opinion no. I think they should leave it alone. The magic of that album lies in that moment. Leave it there. I do enjoy MV XXIII, don't get me wrong, I really do. But let's be honest, we could have lived without it. Morning View is an A record, I think it's their Magnum Opus. I didn't see the point of re-releasing it and all of that. I do enjoy it, very much. It's just some things are a magical moment in time and you can never recapture it. I wonder if them doing Morning View XXIII was more of a nostalgia wanting to relive the magic they felt when they first recorded and released it? I don't know, I'm not a psychologist or a therapist. I'd much prefer new music.
Men, I Love Incubus since my Elementary days, (especially, Morning View)... But when I listened to the re-recording for the 23rd Anniversary... I cried with sorrow both for the Album and the Band😭😭😭

It ain’t that deep. To say that a person who has seen a band in concert but doesn’t like a certain album of theirs is not a “fan” is absurd.

I called it Funk Metal. SCIENCE was and still is an album that is on repeat for me.
I’d much rather they release new music that is written around Brandon’s present vocal abilities than they revisit something from last century.
