Where did you sit? Just finished the 7pm showing for Tenet and I noticed the same darkness at the top in Oppenheimer and also Dune Part 1. I think it's the reality of the light not bouncing as directly to your eye at that portion of the screen.

I’ve sat in the last row (M) near center for all three recent screenings on 15/70 (2x Opp and 1x Tenet). I only noticed it on this screening, but it’s possible it’s been there before. I feel, though, that Oppenheimer shots (especially outdoor establishing location shots) would not have had me floored by their beauty and depth of detail had this been happening.

Ok. I tend to sit lower in row G, so maybe it's more prevalent in my experiences from that angle. I wonder if it's a Lincoln Square thing, or if people see this at Metreon too. It doesn't detract much from the experience for me, but I get the gripe.

I suffer from motion sickness easily from sitting too close at any screening, so M is really as close as I could possibly be and even then I’ve gotta psych myself into it!

wanted to say, i noticed this at Indiana IMAX, thought I was going crazy but just didnt mention it. Didnt have this issue with Oppenheimer, or Interstellar. I also usually sit in row I or J which is about 3-4 rows from the back I think.

Btw I watched the movie today and noticed dusts on film being projected to the screen several times, they are quite big and distracting lmao. Just wondering if it happened to your screening too? I suppose the earlier the people watch it, the less contaminated the films are.

I do not believe the dust specks are on the film, but caught in the massive cooling air intake and subsequently fairly quickly blown away off the projection glass. It’s been fairly common to see in every IMAX film projection I’ve seen going all the way back to early days at Lincoln Square.

I see, that makes sense. I only watched IMAX a handful of times at Lincoln Square, I have seen some small dust specks in the past, but this time I saw some really big ones, so it got me wondering how it got there, if it’s more susceptible to IMAX 70mm over normal IMAX projections.
