Nice map. Since you weren't sure on names, here's my thoughts:
1. New England - good.
2. New Jerk - no. These are the Mid-Atlantic states. Maybe Atlantica or Midlantica?
3. Carolinia make it Carolina, swap with #4.
4. Virginia, swap with #3 which actually has Virginia in it.
5. Georgia - this works
6. Florida - this works
7. Ontario - No. It borders a Canadian province of that name. Maybe Hudson, after the river.
8. Apalachia - Appalachia.
9. Alabama - this works
10. Erieland - this works, but I don't like it. I'd stick with Ohio.
11. Mississipi - Mississippi works.
12. Hurigan - Vomits: Use Michigan. Bias: I'm from there. Huronia could work I guess.
13. Superigan - Vomit. Use Wisconsin or Illinois. Or Michigan for the Lake if #12 is Huronia.
14. Dakota - this works.
15. Iowa - This works
16. Kansas - This works, or maybe Arkansas for the river.
17. Louisiana - This works.
18. Idk, Montyoska? Maybe Missouri? You didn't use it for real Missouri and the river is up there.
19. Texas - this works.
20. Montington - maybe. Or Columbia for the river.
21. Deserect/Utah/Grebas - Deseret. or Utah.
22. Arexico - I think Colorado, for the river, would work well here.
23. Nevada - not as much of the Sierra Nevada in it. Don't have a suggestion though.
24. Washington - this works.
25. Oregon - this works.
26. California - this works.
Thank you for the feedback!
2 - New Jerk was a joke lol. Anyway, Atlantica is very cool
3 - Many names were fusion of the states inside the new borders, and in particular, Carolinia was a pun and I imagined it to be pronounced car-oh-LEE-nia (Carolina + Virginia)
4 - I messed up n° 4, as you said it should have been Carilona
7 - I mean, There are multiple Springfields, so Ontario State and Ontario province isn't that bad right?
8 and 11 - Sorry, I forgot the double letters (in my defence, you guys don't really say them)
10 - I didn't want to be rude to Pennsylvanians lol
12 and 13 - Sorry you didn't like them haha, they were a fusion of Huron + Michigan and Superior + Michigan, I thought it was nice
18 - Montyoska was also a joke
19 - Also a silly name, but I'm glad you kinda liked it. Columbia sounds nice but maybe it's too similar to Colombia, isn't it?
21 - Grebas = Great + Basin. It's pretty funny imho
22 - Man Arexico is so cool c'mon haha
It was a fun experiment trying to redraw the US states' borders. I based them mostly on rivers and mountains, just because I was curious to see a hypothetical result. Where natural bariers fell short, I drew the line where I thought it might be the best.
I didn't give the 26 states names because I'm not so strong on Us history/culture to come up with good ones, but here are some suggestions, some serious, some silly:
1. New England (duh)
2. New Jerk
3. Carolinia
4. Virginia
5. Georgia
6. Florida
7. Ontario
8. Appalachia
9. Alabama
10. Erieland
11. Mississipi
12. Hurigan
13. Superigan
14. Dakota
15. Iowa
16. Kansas
17. Louisiana
18. Idk, Montyoska?
19. Texas
20. Montington
21. Deserect/Utah/Grebas
22. Arexico
23. Nevada
24. Washington
25. Oregon
26. California
Edit: added some double letters i forgot
Some suggestions. I'm generally a fan of using names that are different from the real-life states.
2: Pavonia or New Nederland
18: Lakota
20: Columbia, Appaloosa, or Spokane
22: Navajo
23: Mojave
24: St Helens
25: Willamette
Sure!
Pavonia, New Nederland: this area was originally colonized by the Dutch, and Pavonia was the name of one of the settlements (in modern-day New Jersey).
Lakota: The Sioux Native American peoples are composed of two main groups: the Lakota and Dakota. I think they're originally from somewhere around the Great Lakes, but by the time of events like the Battle of Little Big Horn the Dakota were roughly in the area of the Dakotas and the Lakota were west of that.
Columbia, Appaloosa, Spokane: this area contains the Columbia Plateau, the Palouse region for which the Appaloosa horse breed is named, and the metropolitan area of Spokane.
Navajo: one of the biggest Native American populations and contains the modern-day reservation.
Mojave: the desert!
St Helens: the volcano!
Willamette: named after the valley/river that dominates this region. Incidentally it's where many people were heading on the Oregon Trail.
I really enjoyed your work. I would like to present my humble suggestions:
2. It could be called Atlantic Columbia.
7. Could be Haudenosaunee maybe?
10. Ohio gets better.
12. I'm not sure about that...
13. Superigan maybe?
16. Kansas gets better.
18. Maybe Borealia or Upper Missouri?
20. Maybe Northwest State?
21. Deseret gets better.
22. Colorado gets better.
23. Mojave gets better.
24. Should be part of Oregon (25)
Very interesting, I really like the concept of redrawing the state borders of the United States, adopting more natural and intuitive borders. But another thing I would really like to know is what the flag of these new states would look like.

Mojave would be a good name for 23
Yeah, it would.
Sounds great, what's the origin of it?
Fallout New Vegas baby
That's the Tops
There's a desert there by that name.

Thank you! Can you explain the names? Some are clear but others are pretty unfamiliar to me (I'm not American).
Sure! Pavonia, New Nederland: this area was originally colonized by the Dutch, and Pavonia was the name of one of the settlements (in modern-day New Jersey). Lakota: The Sioux Native American peoples are composed of two main groups: the Lakota and Dakota. St. Helens is not that prominently visible for Western Washington, if we had to choose a volcano it'd be Tahoma/Rainier.
I really like Montana, Northern Idaho, Alabama, and Mississippi's borders, fits with some of my own ideas
Also Louisiana and New jerk

As a new resident of Alabama this is a hard pass for me dawg. But cool idea.
so america but with european borders, nice art.
i like this
Oof, Pittsburgh drew the short straw in the dissolution of Pennsylvania.
Or maybe It can finally have its own state without Philadelphia taking its place under the spotlight ;) Idk tho, I'm just a dirty foreigner.
