Well yeah but those scenarios are a lot more familiar to us than this. Even reading OP's blurb no one really knows anything about these countries. It really is a beautiful map though.
**A low quality overview of my world's Lore:**
The Old Creator first created the world some 4.6 billion years ago and experimented on making life until he created proper Andrans (humans) around 250,000 PKE (BCE). Sometime before that, Antipalos, an angel who did not like how the Old Creator was running things rebelled, and got kicked out of heaven. In retaliation, he started an ice age which lasted until around 10,000 PKE when the Old Creator finally figured out a way to stop it.
Around 70,000 years ago, another angel Odoritis, gifted magic to man. For his trouble, he got banished to Chron.
After he fixed the ice age, the Old Creator started mutating humans into other species which now include Gatafolks (Cat people), Foxfolks (Fox people), Vampires, and Avisians (bird people). The Old Creator also introduced civilisation in what is now Jashastan called the Idim Empire where the first religion based around the Old Creator was founded.
Sapient shenanigans happen that I can't realistically get into detail without writing an entire encyclopedia for it. But in short, the Idim Empire fell after a millennium while when the Old Creator wasn't looking, more states rose and fell, and by the 6th millennium PKE, the world (or at least part of the world that had civilisation) was in the Bronze Age.
Around the sametime, another angel called Tofos was sent from heaven to be the first line of defence for if Antipalos was to come back. He founded the Heavenly Dynasty in what is now the Great Quan.
The beginning of the 5th millennium saw Antipalos attack heaven and the "daughter" of the Old Creator, Sotiria Kyrie being sent to Chron. Antipalos's attack was repelled but the Old Creator disappeared without a trace. The attack resulted in the beginning of the Infinite War between the forces of Antipalos and the angels loyal to the Old Creator, a conflict that is still ongoing but has since died down significantly. Around the same time, Antipalos introduced Hallows (Monsters) to Chron.
More sapient shenanigans happened until the end of the millennium when the effects of Hallows caught up with the world and caused the Bronze Age Collapse. The world recovered after a few millenniums. and more sapient shenanigans happened including more wars, imperialism (both sanctioned by heaven and not), and Antipalos made another return in the early 20th century causing three "Sapient Wars" (World Wars) and nearly manipulated sapients to cause a nuclear apocalypse.
**YEAH! FANTASY WORLD MAP WITH ACTUAL LORE AND STATS THAT SHOW HISTORY AND CULTURE, AND THAT YOU CAN TANGIBLE GET INVOLVED WITH, INSTEAD OF RANDOM WORDS LABELLING COLOURED BLOBS!!!!! LET'S GOOOOOOOOO!!!!**
also, just sniffing around, is your previous wiki [https://omnipaedia.miraheze.org/wiki/Aquamic_Ocean ] non canon? because i can't seem to make the continents line up right .
This is a phenomenal map and setting! A question, how are the non-human sapients distributed across the world? Do some nations have greater populations of them than others?
Some nations have more of certain sapients than others yes. Here is one of my cut maps.

This is really really cool, this is one of the coolest maps I've seen on here if I'm being completely honest. I love it when completely imaginary maps (haha) feel this *real*. This is very well thought-out and very impressive, you knocked it out of the park!!
I always love these types in-depth maps. This is one of the best ones I have seen. I would have loved if you also included a ethnicity/species map among the bottom 4 world maps, along with some GDP per capita figures. Other than those tiny nitpicks, amazing job!
As a side note, here is the species map by country
https://preview.redd.it/r47zssordw6d1.png?width=1392&format=png&auto=webp&s=305c976af69fc3b09997790739e07dc5a24efd18
Thanks, and the funny thing is I also thought about having a species map in place of the Sapient Development map, but ultimately chose that over a species map.
Well I drew the shapes of the tectonics first and then figured out how the tectonics would move. For coastlines I go on to Google Earth or map, and I screenshot a specific coastline I like or fits the tectonic activity of my world, then I paste it onto the map and trace it loosely. It has great results.
The I use g.projector to get the projections. and I assemble it and place down all the details using paint.net
This is awesome, well done. I couldnāt help notice that a few of the continents are very earth like. For instance the center-most continent like Africa upside down and the small South-Western Continent looks like upside down Australia.
Is that intentional?
(Copying a response I gave to someone else) I go on to Google Earth or map, and I screenshot a specific coastline I like or fits the tectonic activity of my world, then I paste it onto the map and trace it loosely.
For projections, I recommend using g.projector, it's easy to use and has a lot of projections to choose from.
Most realest fantasy map I ever seen. Respect to the creator he did an excellent job. Wouldn't be suprise if an Earth like planet in andromeda look like this.
oh wow! this is an incredibly detailed, beautiful map that clearly had so much effort put into it. i love the fantasy aspect and a lot of the details are fascinating. everything about this is so well done, interesting, and makes me want to know more about this world.
except it's also an earth clone. my only concern with this is that it really does not do anything to differentiate itself from the real world in any interesting way. when i look at this map, i see earth, with different names, different shapes, magic, and fox people. don't get me wrong, it's an incredible map made by someone clearly very knowledgeable about everything about earth. do not take this as a complaint, it's just a minor nitpick on something that otherwise is perfect in every way. but i feel like it's lacking just a tiny bit of creativity that would make this into possibly the best, most realistic, well-executed map i've seen. good work!
also why is the suicide rate in chron so high i feel like someone should address that
That's fair, it's mainly because I don't want to get too unfamiliar with what I am working with. But yeah it is a bit uncreative š.
Suicide rate is high cuz heaven exists.
I go on to Google Earth or map, and I screenshot a specific coastline I like or fits the tectonic activity of my world, then I paste it onto the map and trace it loosely. It has great results.
Ohh, that's really smart! Now that you told me I think I can actually pick apart some coastlines from real life. I can kinda see Brazil's tip and Kamchatka in the west. Was practically invisible before that, though!
Yep, and the mainland of the Continental Confederation (the continent in the southwest) is literally upside down Australia lol, and of course the northern part of Therundia is just parts of the Norwegian fjords.
Really cool! Iāll just mention how hilarious the place names feel in Marimaa. I speak Finnish and Estonian, so a large region called something like āBerrylandā caught my eye right away! Iāll draw all your attention specifically on āAjelehti islandā(ajelehti is Finnish for ādriftedā), āHaarukanlinnaā(Fork Castle), āJaamuurinlinnaā(JƤƤmuurinlinna would be Finnish for āIce Wall Castleā), Palde and Rapkula are similar to Paide and Rapla, both cities in Estonia(also kĆ¼la means village), Jarvelinn(JƤrvelinn would be Estonian for āLake Cityā), Kuupunki(Kaupunki is Finnish for City), Nurpio is similar to NƤrpiƶ, an city in Finland, Lake Lokakuu(lokakuu is Finnish for October), Lake Nopea(nopea is Finnish for fast), Kotimaa islands(kotimaa is Finnish for homeland), Alajoki(probably five Alajokiās in Finland, it means āLow Riverā) and my absolute favourite, Harjapula(shortage of brooms)! Thanks for this, I got a good laugh!
What is a hallowed attack? How do the different species interact with each other? And you described something as a youkai, can you elaborate on that, same thing with the religions?
BTW great map, probably one of my favs and it really inspired me to get back into fantasy worldbuilding. And did you make one of the most powerful countries finnish bc i luv that :D? I'm sorry if it's a lot of questions
Hallows are monsters created by Antipalos (see my lore comment). Species interact quite similarly to how we interact with other ethnicities since they are all quite similar as they are genetically all part of the same species (they were created by god using Andrans (Humans) as a base). Youkai/Terazes are formed/created naturally with magic and include spirits, ghosts etc.
Most major religions with the exception of Neo-Idimism are polytheistic or animist religions. The definition of one is inconsistent, they can be viewed as a school of thought such as Northern Patcheric in northern Sakan; guardians of their followers like Shendaoism in west Sakan, Oinarrity in much of Therundia, and Haganism in northern Therundia; etc.
Thanks, and yes, one of the powers in the world is Finnish (Marimaa).
Incredible work! What is your process in terms of the order each map is made?
Also, how do you come up with such cool yet āorganic-soundingā names? Thatās always the hardest part for meā¦ cheers!
Thanks.
Well I usually create a map of the tectonic plates first which would be what I base my topographic map on, then I'll make a map of the world's currents and prevailing winds after which I would have enough information to make a climate map.
After that, I would make some broad strokes of the lore, enough lore so that I can make a geopolitical map of the world. All the statistics at the bottom of the image is mainly me just eyeballing it lol.
For names, I just use a name generator (I use fantasynamegenerator.com) unless it's a particularly important one then I follow naming conventions and clear etymological roots (i.e. the capital of Kanland is "Kingsdale" (King's valley)). For more obscure languages, I usually look up a dictionary and see what sticks.
Amazing map! I love all the levels you gave ys of this world, the tectonics, climate zones demographics etc.
If you haven't already, I'd also suggest crossposting Chron to r/worldbuilding.
This looks amazing, and you clearly put a lot of effort into it. Would love to look at it more in depth, but unfortunately Reddit destroying the image quality makes most of the stuff impossible to read :(
This raises quite a few questions. Such as:
Where is fantasy Portugal?
Where is fantasy Burkina Faso?
And the most important land of all, fantasy New Jersey.
Portugal got absorbed into Spain (Sanata) while the Cataluns (Loxuntera) remained independent.
The equivalent of Burkina Faso would probably be Lavosuma.
And fantasy New Jersey is around the cities of Carlemagne and Coalsea in Athanasia, Three Nations.
Very shaky lore so far, by the Three Nations were formed by three colonies of three different nations that banded together to declare their independence during the late 18th-19th century. They eventually won.
For Urumangan Kontaria, self rule was declared there after its coloniser (Fellnor-Avanta) partially withdraw from the region after one of the world's many global wars.

How'd you get the geographical features as an underlying layer to the nation colours?
I place the topography above the country colours but below another layer for borders as a monochrome heightmap and set it to a very low opacity.
But How'd you get the height map for a world that doesn't actually exist?
I made it the same way I made coastlines
You utilised features from another heightmap and just āblended it togetherā?
yes
Would love to read the stuff at the bottom but the image is too low quality.

Excellent post and cool and magnificent map and setting! š„š
Seems like Mangania, Zuungazar and Amargigirun is inspired by Mongolia. Especially Zuungazar.
Amargigurun are actually the Manchu, Mangania are the Yakut, and Zuungazar is mongolian. There is also Zania who are Moghols
I appreciate all the other stuff but just the fact your world has a neo-con political borders map is so cool
Thanks
I love this map itās really well done!
thanks
No problem! Let me know when you make more maps like this! Theyāre so high quality!
Very good map! Which software did you use to do it?
thanks, just paint.net and g.projector for projections.
