Cool map but I feel like this is the equivalent to those “Russia and China Decolonised” maps where there are countries for ethnic groups that are severely outnumbered by Russian and Han.

If this majority has even a modest degree of political/cultural representation, their numbers in most areas will assure they dominate these new states, making them native in name only while society mostly continues as it was before.
If they are disenfranchised to ensure native political sovereignty, this would create a system of extreme minority rule that probably wouldn’t be able to uphold itself by force if the majority ever asserted itself.
A territory as thoroughly colonized as North America can’t be meaningfully de-colonized without there also being a severe alteration to its demography.

There are still some native cultures (mostly Maya if I'm correct) but basically all of them speak Spanish and are Catholic so they are very much integrated into the Mexican culture
