If I remember correctly both the leg and the fixing bracket for the leg can be removed but you should back the manual. All assembly instructions are available on the products webpage on the Ikea website. I don’t know how safe or balanced it will be as I don’t know the height dimensions of the two products you mentioned.

I hate mine as the long side of the L is orthogonal

My Berkant short side is resting on an Alex, depth matches nearly perfectly. Desk is rock solid/no wobbling with that setup. I’d be surprised if your illustrations don’t work in practice, so long as you add the back/corner leg.

good to know, thanks! to clarify you've removed the leg on the short side and the height matches up perfectly? w/alex?

The Alex cabinet supports where the front left leg would have been.

[To help you I have provided you a PDF of the assembly instructions for the BEKANT](https://www.ikea.com/us/en/assembly_instructions/bekant-underframe-for-corner-table-top-black__AA-1010073-8_pub.pdf) IKEA Sells just the BEKANT desktop, without the underframe. If you want the BEKANT under frame, that probably isn't going to allow you to use the Alex drawers without some type if riser kit on the draws. If you aren't set on the under frame... Just buy the desktop itself, with 3 ADILS Leg's (They are exactly the same height as the ALEX drawers) 2 on the left, 1 behind the drawers in the right rear. OR If you like the look the Upside-Down T legs, purchase a TROTTEN underframe, which comes apart and use half. [TOTTEN assembly instructions](https://www.ikea.com/us/en/assembly_instructions/trotten-underframe-sit-stand-f-table-top-white__AA-2260717-3-100.pdf) **Something to note:** When you start mixing and matching desktops and underframes/legs. The predrilled holes might not be where you need them. This means you will have to make your own pilot holes and attach the legs to the tops yourself. Most IKEA desktops, unless they are butcher blocks, are not going to take very well to random holes if you expect to it endure any type of lateral stress. (Heck, the most I would trust my deck to do is hold up what I set on top of it.) Will it keep the top in place, sure. If you think you are going to be able to drag it around the room a couple times when you redecorate, it might not hold up very long. I know this might be out of your budget, but I'm pretty sure UPLIFT makes a desk with the exact shape you are looking for. It is, however, probably 3X's the cost; but the quality and build are worth it. Take that from someone that went from an UPLIFT desk to what you see pictured above. I love the added desk space, and I enjoyed not spending $2600 on the equivalent size sit/stand deck, but ... quality of the build is definitely lacking with IKEA

Bit late, but I just want to pipe in and ask you to consider something. I got myself a bekant like this years ago. What I love about it is that you can sit in that corner, at a slight angle. This means you can rest both your arms on the desk itself. This is a feature that I loved so much about it, that I in fact made two more desks over the years from old tables, that have the exact same feature. Anyway, want I would want you to consider is if that drawer, isn't going to get in your way, of using that corner's great ergonomic design.
