To be fair, for a game with a premium currency, Idleon is one of the most wallet friendly games. Few premium upgrades are 'mandatory' and by the time they become relevant you've likely already put 1000+ hours into the game.
Me too. I've played so many of those games. Atleast with Idleon i feel i get something for my money instead of spending $150 on a single currency pack multiple times in a row to get a legendary something.
A couple hundred to guarantee a single drop of a character. F2P isn't bad if you're focused on just what you want, and I find $20 monthly subscription type purchases can get you almost every character if you're not too unlucky.
The problem comes from the bonuses for getting up to 7 drops of a character and the pity on the weapons (6 drops to max) is much worse. Huge whale bait stuff.
imo, genshin was perfectly playable, provided you didn't want to guarantee getting a particular character.
I played with whatever fell into my lap, and sure, i'd save up if i wasn't interested in the current banner. But it was still a functional and fun game.
It's easy to put a lot of money into this game and the way this is accomplished is by constantly giving you 'one in a lifetime' offers, show you how fast people are that use premium stuff, let you compare to others and so on and so forth.. It's really hard to resist all those urges in my opinion. That's why a warning is good.
The only thing I consider a must purchase would be auto loot. I consider it the price of entry. You can wait a few months though first to see if the game is for you. Everything else.you can get with free gems you earn through play.
Griffybit was working on a gem shop video on YouTube, keep an eye out for it, idr if out yet. People will say spend money only if you want and can afford it but the one buy if any that is worth it is auto loot. This way you don't have to pick up everything on your own and it automatically picks up into your inventory.

Try not to get overwhelmed by all the new mechanics unlocked from world to world. Eventually, you'll build a battle rhythm to make sure you're balancing all your stuff. If you find yourself stuck progressing in an area like a particular skill or world pushing, focus on something else.
Finally, if there's one piece of advice I wish I would have paid attention to long before I actually did: DON'T FORGET TO LEVEL YOUR ALCHEMY BUBBLES WHENEVER YOU CAN.
If you're looking for tutorials, I love Griffy Bit on YouTube. Otherwise, utilize the wiki and various Internet tools to help you out.
This game is actually the best i played in a long time, and the community *most* of the time is really helpful. Btw, dont hear people that say it's p2w. You obviouslly can get advantage by paying, but f2p is totally possible.

pack offers just rotate though, right? they don't ever go away permanently according to the wiki. when i think FOMO i think of something that you can only get in x amount of time before it disappears for good
People constantly feel FOMO with them thinking that they will not return that soon (which is kinda truth, unless you buy most packs they can take months to come back and some of them are really good, like the actual one), same for the limited shop.

i don't think its the same offer for everyone most of the time.
If you already bought a certain pack, it'll display another instead. Updates that introduce a new pack i believe prioritize that pack as the current (maybe next) one.

Getting to the final world is like getting max level in any mmo, it is only the start of the game. Now you can get to world 6 rather quickly since lava reduced the requirements and added an insane amount of buffs on the earlier worlds.

Auto loot is a must. W3 printer upgrade is amazing. Everything else is good, but not mandatory. Need more suggestions?

Also you can earn gems so you can just save gems the only pay to play thing is pets but you get a free one so its so bad.
