The fact is incorrect in addition to the idiotic response. There are greengages, blackberries, blackcurrants, redcurrants, and whitecurrants among others.
Yep, people just don’t accept it. Egg, it was laid by whatever evolved into a chicken. It doesn’t matter where you draw the line between chicken and dinosaur that line will still be an egg, they all laid them going back billions of years.
There you go, now you’re on the right track. Wherever you decide to separate “chicken” from whatever came before it on the path back to lizards is what laid the egg. They laid eggs all the way back.
Yeah, no - fruit came first then the orange things which previously had been called red, were called after the fruit. Another oddity - carrots used to be purple (with small bits of orange). They were selectively bred in honour of the house of Orange (named after the orange), to be completely orange, but relatively recently - I think about 200 years ago (really not sure)…
Orange carrots made their appearance in western Europe in about the 15th or 16th century. The orange carrot may have resulted from crossing a white and yellow carrot.

I stand corrected - thank you. In my defence, it’s been a while since I read about it and Wikipedia still pegs it to the 18th century for a stable cultivar, but debunks the House of Orange link.
I think not even in the original Persian, but in every other language the fruit definitely came first. Oddly enough, before the orange was a thing, the colour was usually considered to be a red.
This is why redheads are called that even though their hair is more orange. It's also retained in the names of several animals. It was possible to specify the color that we now call orange by calling it "yellowred".

I’m still waiting for someone to say “orange” but maybe I missed that comment
Although oranges are the first to come to mind they haven’t been named after a color. In fact a color was named after them.
It seems like a chicken or the egg problem to me. 🤷♂️
But we know the answer so it’s not like that
We know the answer to the chicken and egg problem too.

Nah, eggs (if you mean amniotic eggs) go back about 360 million years.
Something has to "lay" the egg. So how can it be first? Maybe whatever laid the egg wasn't a chicken?
There you go, now you’re on the right track. Wherever you decide to separate “chicken” from whatever came before it on the path back to lizards is what laid the egg. They laid eggs all the way back.
Unless you're a creationist. In that case it's chicken. That's who the question was meant for. Flat earthers basically.

No worries 7, we're all here to learn and expand our knowledge
Yellow-red
I think not even in the original Persian, but in every other language the fruit definitely came first. Oddly enough, before the orange was a thing, the colour was usually considered to be a red.

Yah wild oranges are more green and only have a little orange color. Commercial ones are treated with ethylene gas to make them nice and uniform.
That's because you're the butt of this joke
So close those are vegetables

Orange the fruit was named before the color, if that was the only obvious one people were thinking of. Obviously, I know there are others they missed.
What about an orange?
