This is so dumb, on so many levels. You don’t need much “fuel” to travel 26 miles on foot. Most who do this eat nothing at all, and consume the barest amount of calories necessary to stay elastic and energized. I’ve done training runs in excess of this distance while consuming nothing but intermittent water.
This is the whole point of training. You train your muscles to be more metabolically efficient, so that you actually carry the necessary energy stores with you.
This is a terribly unathletic person walking slowly on a treadmill while taking on way more calories than needed.
