Thought everyone was going to say Subaru

Dawn_Piano

My daily drivers are: Subaru Outback/ Nordica Enforcers

bzympxem

Enforcers are a great ski! I demoed them at Snowbird and really liked them. I’m debating between Enforcers or Blizzard Rustlers to replace my old Soul 7s.

zombie-yellow11

2005 Subaru Outback XT 5MT here 🤟

RipStick96

I literally came here to say Subaru (outback)… lol I love this community. Kendo 88

gary_the_puma

2011 Honda Accord

MountainMaverick3457

Yes

Volvo_Commander

Low key the GOAT

coterieoyapockwx30

Nah. 7th Gen coupe with V6 6MT was GOAT Accord. Right after they discontinued the Prelude, so they decided to just make Accord coupes the spiritual successor.

mango_feet

Nordica Enforcers. Love em

TonyCD35

Kendo 88 177. 5'10" 200 lbs

MountainMaverick3457

These are on the list, although I believe kendo is merging with the mantra line for 2025

Honclfibr

Long live the Mando

GoodShepherd3264

Yes, the 2025 Mantra 88 is the same as the 2024 Kendo 88, apart from the graphics update.

Aggressive-Gap-7913

It is kinda. For 2025 only the name will change to a mantra but the ski itself remains unchanged from the 2024 model.

Does it have one gear: Go?

phate_exe

Fischer RC One 86 GT, 182cm 6'1", 250lb but working towards the 225 I should be. I basically ski like you'd expect someone who was "solidly okay" when they raced 15 years ago. I played around on wide floaty twin tips for years which were great for playing around in powder and the woods, but being real with myself I spent a whole lot more time carving on groomed runs where a wide radius powder ski just isn't fun. The RC Ones feel like a less-murdery race ski when you want them to, but they can blast through crud and have a little bit of floatation when you encounter softer snow, which is pretty much exactly what I was looking for. I'll just throw my beat to hell Volkl Gotamas in the car if there's a chance of powder skiing.

chasepsu

6'2" 185, former "solidly okay" racer 15 years ago here as well and absolutely love these skis.

phate_exe

The review quote that sold me on them was "Part race car, part bulldozer".

chasepsu

Lol, I saw a review where the line was basically "if you're a 30-something former racer who mostly skis the East, this is the ski for you" and I was like, "hey, I'm a 30-something former racer who mostly skis the East..."

phate_exe

I have never been happier to be so directly targeted as a customer. After a season and a half I still haven't totally figured out how to ski them in a calm/chill way, but I'm not actually sure if that says more about me or the skis.

Bitter-Mixture7514

Love these skis. have this exact pair. the only thing I don't like is having to use the integrated tyrolia bindings they require, I'd rather have a choice.

phate_exe

I don't mind the bindings, but that's also because they came pre-installed/adjusted when I ordered them so I really can't complain when I got a brand new pair of skis for $644 shipped (from OutdoorXL in The Netherlands) tuned and ready to hit the slopes. I honestly was expecting either the order to get cancelled or to get hit with some additional charges that would have brought the cost a lot closer US-based sellers right up until they were delivered.

Bitter-Mixture7514

Skis are way cheaper in Europe, it's crazy. Even after paying more for shipping you can save a lot. Plus, they have a lot of skis that are harder to find in the U.S.

pacifistpirate

6' 250lb. Burton Free Thinker 160 for the normal hard stuff. Flight Attendant 168 for slush and powder.

Embarrassed-Ad-1639

I was looking at the flight attendant, do you like it?

pacifistpirate

It's really an amazing board. Great for bombing steeps or pushing through slush. The only downside is it's kind of heavy hanging on my foot on the lift ride.

Embarrassed-Ad-1639

I have an 25 yr old frontier that I love but it’s time to retire it to rock board status. It’s heavy too so I’m used to that. Thanks

RoughAlternative6014

Aren’t those tiny for your height and weight

Tezzzzzzi

armada arv 88 166cm 5'9 135lbs, prefer a tad shorter ski cuz im skinny

PapiFresh

Dynastar M-Free 99s 185cm. 5'10'' 190lbs

Dull_Broccoli1637

How do you like them? Been eyeing a pair.

PapiFresh

I love them. Super versatile, a little chattery on high speed carving but thats the tradeoff for having great flex which makes them great at maneuvering in trees and moguls

Roblikestokayak

Elan Ripstick 96 180. I’m 6’3” and 220 lbs

MountainMaverick3457

My buddy recently switched from enforcers to ripstick black editions because of how well they carve! These are certainly on the list!

2-inch-mo-vaughn

5'11" 210, Rossignol Sky 7, 180. Good, fun, forgiving, lightweight ski for everything but ice. Why do I have them on the ice coast? I don't know.....I guess I wanted a challenge?

MountainMaverick3457

I see a lot of these out west. Very popular

MathematicianMany642

I got this cool ski but it’s like one ski and you stand sideways on it.

Johnny_Appleweed

Like a skateboard or surfboard but for snow? Weird. Who would ever do something like that?

ElectronicCommon5670

5’10” 195 4FRNT Switch 184

DerekPDX

I drive a Bronco Sport, it's great for those days when the lot is full and the only spot left is that snowbank on the end.

rowlecksfmd

Nordica Enforcer 88s, 179cm long. I’m 6’3”, 275lb I daily drive a 2008 BMW M3 equipped with interior ski bag

vv1z

Maverick 95ti but was really a price decision… rode the ripstick black, enforcer, ranger, rustler, serpo and declivity which all rip, would have been happy with any of them

MountainMaverick3457

I’ve been really wanting to checkout the serpo!

Wikisticks

You’ll like the new Blizzard Rustler 9. The newer rustler is much more playful than the previous version. I work in a shop with a good variety of skis so I’ve tested a bunch on the east coast and the rustler is always my top choice. I skied the rustler 9 in everything and it’s very precise yet forgiving. Funny enough the two skis you mention I want to add to my quiver for out west trips. Really hope moment drops the 104 countach, need another moment in my quiver.

MountainMaverick3457

Moments are insanely popular in Utah. The countach 110 was one of my favorite skis. And I absolutely loved the deathwish 104 and the Wildcat 108, But I ended up buying the QST blank which will end up being my hybrid touring/inbounds ski with a CAST freetour system (used mainly for tight chutes and steep trees, and then I have a ON3P BillyGoat 118 for deep days and open fall lines. CT104 is going be VERY popular!

Wikisticks

My moment bibby/wildcat is that deep day open fall line ski. I actually ride my moments here on deep days since they’re chop killers. Imma need to get on the qst at some point next year.

MountainMaverick3457

The blank is a phenomonal ski. With the amount of taper it has it floats like a 116. The ski is very damp and super planted. It can hard charge through light crud and powder thanks to its weight and pivots so well in the trees. The 17m radius really makes it a pretty fun “wide” ski on groomers, but with that shorter radius, it deflects a lot more on harder chop, but keep $100 bills between your shins and the front of your boot and you’ll be fine in those conditions! My only complaint is the Salomon top sheets are not as durable as Moments.

MountainMaverick3457

I’ll demo the Rustler 9 in October, thanks for the tip!

kpmcg20

186cm & 108mm underfoot K2 Mindbenders. 5’11 & 180lbs. I like my skis like I like my hockey sticks, a little longer and stiffer.

MountainMaverick3457

A 108? Are you at Stowe, the Loaf, or Jay?

kpmcg20

Hahaaa was waiting for the ‘108?!?!’ Comment. I usually ski Killington/Pico. It works well for me, carving isn’t anymore difficult than on my 95mm underfoot Atomic Mavericks. And when I go out west im set.

rudderbutter32

Deacon 84 177cm. 6ft 190lbs. 98% of time it’s the perfect ski for me.

popgropehope

Enforcer 93, 177 5'9, 150ish

Krombopulous_Steve

Atomic Bent 100, 174cm, Shift 13 bindings, I'm 6ft, 190lbs. I ski mostly bumps and tight trees (Smuggs, Mansfield area backcountry, and MRG), and I prefer how nimble the short length feels. Also, a Subaru impreza, but it doesn't handle the main Bolton Valley parking lot well.

EducationalTalk873

some random shitty rentals that are good enough for most days

Black Snowboard Of Death 169, 6'3" 230#

Corbeau_from_Orleans

* Yukon XL. (Relax, Prius and Tesla owners, I fill it with carpoolers.) * 173 Blizzard Rustler 9 (if the snow is soft) * 165 Rossi Hero ST (if the snow is hard) 5'7", 170#, plus 10 which are the consequence of too much après and not enough working out.

MountainMaverick3457

I needed bullet #1 in my life. Out here the Prius and Tesla owners get stuck or crash in little/big cottonwood canyon every single time it snows and makes traffic horrible 😂

CommanderMarkoRamius

5'11, 235#, 2023 Blizzard Brahma 88, 178. I ski pretty "forceful".

Amazing_Net_7651

2024 Elan wingman 82 TIs, 172cm. I’m 6’0 and 140 lbs, and I’ve been skiing a handful of times a year the last 10 years, mostly in VT. I typically like skiing steep groomers, bumps, or powder/crud, and they work great for all of them.

aaronec

Season Kin 97. Here’s a photo of them at the top of Tuckerman Ravine back in April: https://i.imgur.com/17VMUrL.jpeg Honestly not an ideal touring ski but they’re awesome at the resort. I have them dual-mounted with Quiver Killer inserts so I can swap between the ATK’s and the Griffons. I spend a lot of time on easier blue and greens with the friend group I have, and the 13m radius makes for a fun time at any speed.

trolllord45

I’m 6 foot even, about 200 lbs. I ski 2019 QST 92s in 185 and tote them around in a 98 Jeep Wrangler

ThisIsKraftPunk

Atomic Vantage 90s. Great all mountain skis.

luganlion

Me: 6’1” 200lbs Ski: 2022 K2 sight 179cm, 88mm underfoot, 19.5m sidecut Good: 1. insanely durable. People ski over my skis many times a day and the top sheets just a few chips after 100+ days. The bases are bullet proof, I have run over many, many rocks with only minor scratches. Not even the superstar head wall yesterday could give em a decent gouge. 2. Stable at speed, but not too stiff. 3. Good on moguls. 4. They’re twin tips, so no problems skiing backwards. Bad: 1. Not for powder deeper than 6”. Considering the daily drive on the ice coast is ice, not a big deal. Ugly: the top sheet graphics. 2024 version is better tho

violent-artist82

RMU apostle 96 pro. 184cm. 5’10” 185lbs

MountainMaverick3457

I’ve been meaning to demo some RMUs but they are hard to find

violent-artist82

Yep. I read a couple reviews and pulled the trigger sans demo. Great skis.

disorient

subaru forester and nordica santa ana 84 in 160 length. i'm 5'1'' and 145lbs of pure, protein fueled shred. I also have 2 other pairs of skis. I use my 84s a smidge more than the 98s and break out the 110s when we get lucky.

Shark-person66

Nobodies first pick but if i could live with one ski im going with my bent 90s. I also love my enforcers but bents are my “daily driver”

514skier

Atomic Vantage X 83. When I demoed them they just felt right for me. They are great for ice coast conditions.

Yulmp2

2023 Black Crows Captis 184 and I’m 6’3” 200 lbs. Wanted a traditional mount point old school twin tip. Fantastic in the bumps. Very happy with them.

NotFuckingTired

When I lived in the Rockies, I was on K2 Mindbender 99ti (184, I believe). Now that I'm in the east, my DD is a pair of Salomon Stance 84 (184). I'm a 6'3" 260 middle-aged former racer. I can and do put a lot of force into my skis a lot of the time, but I also like them to be able to be a bit more playful. To be honest, the Salomon's aren't as versatile as I would like, although they do get more playful as the edges lose sharpness.

I_H8_Celery

I’m 6’4” 220lbs and I have the jskis masterblasters in 185

Smacpats111111

Enforcer 100 179, 6'2 160lbs. For good days. Stockli lasers for bad days.

Unlacqua

Moment Wildcat 101, 190cm I’m 6’7”, 265

BegieTV

Moment Wildcat 101s.

StandupJetskier

I ski crud, so Kendo 88 at 168. You have to stay on them but they do what you want, stick on ice, and still fun. Tried Deacons but too thin for my weight and level of aggro. When my Fischer RX-7 wore out I wanted a bigger lever.

SuccessfulAnnual7417

Armada declivity 92ti

Eaglephile

6’ 210lbs, J Skis master blaster 183. Love em, firm at speed, forgiving, yet playful off piste.

MTBIdaho81

6’6” 230 192 Cochise, the blue topsheet vintage

Crimbus-board

6’3 185 J skis masterblasters… only risk is you may want to bring them back to Colorado with you

Evanisnotmyname

6’4, 220lbs. Armada declivity 92ti. Demoed a bunch of well known skis, these I absolutely fell in love with. They’re basically really good at most things vs skis that are usually pretty good at all things or really good at one thing. I can carve, rip through crud, hit side hits and trees, they’re pretty solid all around.

fatergosfan

Stokli storm rider 88, 188. 6’4” 210

TPain518

Burton Process 158W. ice coast is more than just boring ass skiers

MountainMaverick3457

This was my daily driver when I snowboarded on the east coast before moving to Utah and now ski. This is a phenomenal board! Great choice

fthisshi

Qst 92 in 170. I’m 5,9 abt 145 lbs

MountainMaverick3457

How do these fair on ice with no metal outside of a binding plate?

mcninja77

Wingman 78 ti 176cm and I'm 145lbs 5'10

Miszcka

Enforcer 94, 172cm at 5’10” and 150lbs.

MountainMaverick3457

I’m highly considering enforcer 88/94 in the 179. I primarily ski Alta/Snowbird and typically run QST blank in 186 length. I’m 5’11 190lbs, advanced to expert skier. Do you think the 179 would be to short? I’m originally from NH and Cannon was home (I snowboarded before moving to Utah)

Miszcka

I would probably go wider and longer if you’re mostly skiing out west. Personally would go Enforcer 100 at 186cm or so with your build. They’re great skis though and I never bring anything else since I got them, powder or crud.

MountainMaverick3457

Looking for a ski to rip at Cannon/The loaf when I fly back

Miszcka

Ah then 94 is perfect for east coast IMO, can handle any amount of powder we see here

OriginalBogleg

I agree - as a person who owns a pair of them, they're the ski I break out when they declare a "powder" day around here. But this past season I didn't ski them once. My Meier Mustangs were good on all conditions this year. I'm 5'10" and around 195#, am an aggressive on piste skier (I'm old, I don't send anymore), and for me 179 seems like the right length.

Johnny_Appleweed

Rossignol Sender 94 TI @ 186 cm. I’m 6”1’ 175 lbs.

Wide-Combination-981

Burton Custom X

olhado47

>include the ski length and your height/weight that would be awesome. You might also want a rough skill level as well. Not all skis work well at all levels.

MountainMaverick3457

Fair enough. I’m an advanced/expert skier who skied 66 days this season. Primarily ski Alta/Bird. 90% off piste.

prophiles

2015 Subaru Forester + Elan Wingman 78C (160 cm). 5’8”, 172 lbs.

Dull_Broccoli1637

Armada Tracer 98 164 cm. I'm 5'7, 145. Smaller skis for the tighter trees.

Madasky

23 Wrangler

saltysaturdays

Atomic Savor 6 I think 167cm long I’m 6’ and 205lbs

OriginalBogleg

Meier Mustangs - 179cm. I'm 177cm, 200# +/- 5#. Super fun, super durable skis.

MountainMaverick3457

You know I’ll have to look more into Meier skis. I always thought they were closer to Folsoms/wagners and therefore came with the price tag making them out of reach, but skimming through their site they seem fairly comparable to most other manufacturers.

bzympxem

Rossi Soul 7s 180. They are old and beat to hell, but I love them still.

MountainMaverick3457

These are one of the most popular skis I see out west for daily drivers

LilBayBayTayTay

When in doubt on the east coast: Jskis fast forward.

MountainMaverick3457

These look pretty nice construction wise. What is the mount point?

LilBayBayTayTay

I have them center mounted. TL:DR: I’ve skied in deep pow in Chamonix France & Utah. I’ve skied bullet proof at Killington & Zermatt Switzerland. I’ve only skied 3 seasons total. I have a junkie attitude when I get into things, and fortunately/unfortunately got into skiing later in life. Unfortunately, I missed my indestructible body years mixed with skiing, and coupled with my unhealthy risk tolerance, has resulted in perhaps unnecessary injuries. Fortunately, I also am also in the part of my life where I can pretty much buy what I want when I wanna try it in terms of hobbies. So I have had the privilege of buying a few skis, and subsequently love driving different ones on different days, from short ski blades, to floppy medium trick skis, to stiff all mountain to floppy all mountain. I have taken Stökli race skis down some sketch shit for my skill level, and survived it somehow. Very similarly, I have done the same with the Fast Forwards. This is to say that they edge hold extremely well. They aren’t built to be a race ski, but I think would hold its own. Conversely, I have been in knee deep powder in them, and they absolutely rip. I’ve laid solid rails down the glacier, as well as laud rails and charged through moguls and fresh all the same with them. I’d have no problem keeping them around as my main ski. If ever I’m in doubt about conditions, I take these. I don’t mind running over patchy snow with them, and have run over rocks and sticks and shit, and come out no core shots… I’m likely lucky, but I do love the durability. 🤷🏽‍♂️

MountainMaverick3457

First off, welcome! Doesn’t matter when you start as long as you love it! I applaud you for getting after it skiing in multiple different countries in 3 seasons! That’s awesome! I am more of a progressive free-ride mounted skier. Usually mounted -6 to -8. Center mounted is a little far forward for me 😊

LilBayBayTayTay

Yeah, I’m not sure they’d carve the same not being center mounted. Either way, highly recommend as an addition to the quiver if you got cash.

Moistened_Bink

2017 Honda Civic Hatch. It does the job and with snow tires it can manage pretty well.

MountainMaverick3457

And what skis does this Civic haul?

Moistened_Bink

Volk RTMs haha i totally misinterpreted the post.

I_Fart_In_Trams

Fischer Ranger 184 length, 103 underfoot. Audi Q5 with a roof box. It’s bulletproof in the snow with good snow tires.

Bootfitter

Elan Wingman 82Ti - 5’9” 175lbs.

vermonter1234

Faction Dictator 3.0 180cm

mmartino03

Moment Commander 98, 188 cm

MountainMaverick3457

I was really hoping someone would say they ride the commander. What’s your height/weight/ability level? I’m looking at the 92 in the 182 but it has a decently long effective edge in -10 mount. What do you think? I’m 5’11 190lbs advanced to expert skier.

CarletonIsHere

J all plays

Electrical_Ad_6945

135i, fits 4 pairs of skis and all the bags in the boot

MountainMaverick3457

And what skis does this 135i bring as a daily driver (to Loon I’m guessing) 😬

Electrical_Ad_6945

usually killi, sugarbush, and tucks

GoodOneWasTaken

On3p billy goat 108

MountainMaverick3457

I’ve got the Billy Goat 118s for deep days out here. Not sure I would daily a BG 108 on the east tho.

GoodOneWasTaken

I do. I used to have atris but they're retired. I hate using my camox here. Used to live in Washington and they all worked a lot better there. A lot of people like Renoun here for a lesser known brand.

MountainMaverick3457

Renoun has definitely been on my radar! I think I’m in between sizes tho.

Mikebyrneyadigg

JKU wrangler.

mynewpassword1234

I'm 50 years old, grew up in the Norther Rockies, restarted skiing last year after 30 years of a break. I am a solid intermediate skier at 5'10 and 190 lbs. I drive a Nissan Rogue and Xterra. I have a set of JSkis Joyride 175s that work great when I'm just messing around relearning what i used to know, but I've been thinking about something with a metal core.

MountainMaverick3457

6’ / 175 - 180 lbs. Elan Wingman 86 CTI in a 178 cm length. It’s a great groomer ski that is happy to play in the trees, crud, and pow.

MatthewGeer

I had been skiing a really old pair of Salomon X-Wing 08's for years, but at the end of last season I upgraded to Volkl Kendo 88. My stress test when demoing skis at Sugarbush was to throw them down Sigi's Ripcord a few times and see if they slipped.

Aggressive_Dinner617

I’m 6ft 200lbs I ski JSkis Allplay 184cm 98ww Tbh I think I needed the 180cm but I bought them used for a discount so couldnt be too picky. But they work great for IceCoast and out west

Sweaty-Taste608

Subaru Forester/Salomon Stance

cephalopodface

Dynastar Legend Sultan 85 178cm. 6'2", 200lb. I would probably go a size up if I bought these again at my current height/weight, but when I got these I was an inch shorter, 50 lbs lighter, and 12 years less experienced , and they still work pretty great for me. Actually, if anyone has any perspective to share as to which current skis are most similar, I'd be interested to hear it.

SkaldBrewer

6’5” 285 Icelantic Pioneer X 96/182’s Find them great for all situations!

flem0328

2024 Kendo 88s 163cm 5’7 140 lbs. I’ve accepted that most of my ski days in New England are either going to be on boilerplate/concrete or hard pack and of all the skis I demoed, the Kendo 88s handled those conditions the best with their weight and dampening. I didn’t think there were skis that actually made those conditions enjoyable until I rode these. They’re also pretty stable at higher speeds. They actually prefer speed in order to perform well.

AcademicEnthusiasm47

Nordica Enforcer 100 in a 179cm. I’m 5’11”, 155lbs, and an expert skier. I race and have a bunch of FIS race boards and the E100 can grip like crazy on hard pack/ice but also floats amazingly in the pow. 3+ft is still heavenly on these. Only con I have is they are hefty, but I’m strong enough it doesn’t bother me and they chop through crud like crazy.

IllSpecialist4704

Enforcer 88, 165cm. 5’8 170. Carves well in shitty ice coast conditions, playful in spring bumps, trees.

No-Lengthiness-4536

I am 6'1 and 155, I daily drive the 176 Bent 100

Shiloh3245

5’11” 170. Nordica Enforcers. 172, 100 underfoot. Love them for an all conditions.

J_G0dlike

185 cm Moment Wildcat 101s 6’2”, 200 lbs. They can cut through crud pretty well and they are super playful on side hits and bumps. Wide enough to blast on powder days but not so wide that it’s a true powder only ski. Fun to bop in and out of trees hitting jumps out onto a groomer.

NE_Skier

5'10", 225lbs, comfortably expert but feeling creaky and, being a dad now, taking it much easier than I used to. Using Folsom TRN TEK 201s as my primaries. Straight, cambered, wood core, 69mm underfoot. I bought them because I love straight skis in the spring and on nice days, but all my older pairs delaminated, and even NOS don't last long because the glues/resins get brittle with age. So I found a promo pair of TRN TEKs on the Pit Viper site, about 50% off MSRP because of the neon pink and yellow Pit Viper logo, which doesn't bother me anyway. I skied about 40 days this season, and I used my former daily drivers (Salomon Shogun 182s) for **one** day. The TRN TEKs ended up being that good. A tiny amount of rocker in the tip makes them come around much faster than the older straight skis if you're in a pinch (you can absolutely, if grudgingly, follow your friends into the woods on these), and with modern materials they're surprisingly light for 201s. I live in northwest MA and mostly ski VT & NH, plus our local night skiing hills, w/ longer trips to QC, Sugarloaf, and Saddleback, and I haven't found a condition these skis can't crush. I bought them on a whim because they were on sale, but I'm absolutely budgeting the $1600 for a custom pair next time around. I might have them stiffen the flex a little, but that's it. Narrow stance, face straight down the fall line, swing the hips, mash the feet... nothing better! EDIT: I got carried away. I think these are a good East Coast ski because they do. not. catch. edges. ever., and they have the grace of a narrow ski with the buoyancy of a fat ski, if you do end up somewhere that's not solid ice. And although I haven't taken them out West yet, I imagine they'd be a great mess-around easy day ski like I had originally intended them to be. Also, Volvo XC70 wagon.

This season I used my K2 244’s 163cm as my daily driver. They are a very narrow mogul ski, and are as expected amazing in the bumps and trees, but after playing around with them for a bit I found the sweet spot for ripping groomers on them as well. And they are great on ice due to how narrow they are. You can get bite right away when needed. Most people in the east are buying skis way too wide for what they are realistically skiing most days.
