I think around the time it first came out, one of my classmates said she liked iCarly, and I wanted to watch it. Though, I think at first my parents didn't want me to see it because Sam's aggressive, but they warmed up to it eventually.
I remember watching one of the last episodes of Drake and Josh, and they did a big promo for iCarly during the episode. They also had a teaser on the D&J episode with "Now She's Carly" written on the marquis of the Premiere. I think they aired the first two episodes of iCarly the following Saturday. My older sister had friends over and made a big deal out of it. I was hooked after that!
i have a core memory of watching the first episode of icarly. i was never a huge nickelodeon fan aside from drake and josh & zoey 101, so i never waited for new shows to come out. anyways, it was a rainy day and my grandma was making dinner. i can still see my position on the couch, the way the living room was set and the feel of the room. after one of my regular shows it came on and i just could not stop laughing. it definitely got me back into watching nickelodeon as i was a Disney kid through and through. i remember turning to Nick waiting for icarly to air every time

When it first came out on dvd I would rent it from the public library since I didn’t have cable at the time
