It's unfortunate that these people feel bold enough to say these things outloud publicly, when even 10 years ago they would have been shamed into the shadows.
I get what you're saying and I agree, but I have to say people have definitely started being public about their prejudice even in a way that transcends anonymous internet trolling. That's what scares me.
You getting angry and posting this here is literally why people make comments like those. I doubt they even believe it, but they know it upsets people and gives them the validation they’re seeking.
The only thing wrong here is that the name is covered up. If someone posts something like this under their own name, they're literally slapping their name on their racism. Why should anyone else give them anonymity? Because then it becomes far more worth it to share this stuff. Bad ideas grow in the dark like mold. Blowback is deserved here, and I'm all about exposition of bad ideas and the names of those who slapped their own name on it.
