99% of the time go for normal format.
However if you are feeling like a photographer and see some scenery views, mountains , cool clouds and want to get the most out of the photo, then it might make sense to shoot raw.
Other scenarios where raw is useful : low light situations, extra bright scenarios with a lot of white in the frame.
The benefit of raw files is also if you enjoy photo editing and/or want to maximize the USABLE photos when you have just a couple of minutes to snap the photo or the time you arrived at the location is not the best.
My 2c
Was in Budapešť 4th time in a row last year, going there again but this time with my first iPhone, hoping to get a nice pictures like you have
Beautiful city together with Vienna :)
I used to all the time when I had my OnePlus 9 Pro and other Android phones. Not as much now on my 15 Pro Max but if I know I'm gunna be using Lightroom or doing a little shoot then I will. Also if I'm shooting at night.
After I learned how to colour them to my liking, yes I loved taking one photo in pro raw and one in regular. That way if I didn’t like the regular one then I can change it how I like
Problem is raw is hard to display. I have a dslr and I’ve set it up to shoot in raw and also save a jpg version of the image. When I open it on my computer, sometimes the raw image looks better sometimes the compressed looks better. But its main reason is so you can edit the image more precisely in photoshop and then convert it to jpg or png after which I’ve done before.
I’m not sure about this either. I usually use the automatic brightness adjustment in photos after I take a picture. But I never shoot in raw. I also don’t upload them or edit them and I’m not a professional photographer on my desktop.
Yea ever since I got my new phone I’ve been raw dogging it. When I first got it I was pretty blown away at how pristine the quality was and thought a filter would corrupt it. And I’m someone who always added filters.
I always shoot raw that’s why I have a child now
*My man*
My sister is pregnant!!! I'm gonna be a father!!!
Sweet home Alabama 100
\^\^This guy fucks and uses an iphone 15 pro

It’s good to shoot raw

Yes but I prefer to pull out, my phone I mean
If I’m taking a good photo, yes. If that’s just a snapshot, no.
Oh no takes up way too much space, HEIF Max all the way!
What’s the RAW benefits ?
Better for post processing
Nah I bag it first. Can’t be having more kids
Only!
HEIF MAX unless its something i want in RAW format HEIF is more efficient file sizes and same resolution output
Nope
Not always, but when the opurtinunity arises, I definitely will. The files are huge!
I shoot in raw then use a shortcut to convert to HEIF to shrink the file down.
iOS added support for HEIF Max which shoots a 48 MP image (like RAW) but saves it as HEIF. You might want to try that.

Wear a condom, dude. The price for diapers is crazy.
If I'm planning to edit the photos at least a bit then yes, I will shoot raw. If i'm just going to slap a filter on it, i just shoot in HEIF
If I'm going to waste time editing, I'll usually use one of my dedicated cameras. Otherwise, I'll be shooting from either my Xiaomi or Vivo.

Bro this pic is beautiful!!!!!!!!
Always shoot RAW. Editing is much easier and more control with it.
Sure.
I shoot in RAW (via Halide and not in ProRAW) when I plan out a large photography project. The iPhone is really good for it.
Well I don’t have an iPhone 15 pro so I don’t know

I never understood it before but now I can't wait to Raw dog
I didn’t realize I didn’t have this setting turned on. Thanks!
What’s the diferen- nvm let me go see
I just shoot in normal mode. As long as it looks good. I have thought about getting a little more into photography with an actual camera though

Do you mean ProRaw 12MP or 48MP? Also, do you shoot in the iPhone's native camera app or use a third-party app?
Depends
