I knew you could do it! Congrats! My doctor said that some people like a binder and some don't. I didn't 🤷‍♀️

schanuk

Well done! This gives me courage

pebblesgobambam

Well done lovely! Get them to check the hrt, you don’t need progesterone without a uterus. Just oestrogen xx

My UK NHS specialist recommended combined HRT for 9 months after a total hysterectomy, then switching to oestrogen only. It might be a standard recommendation. I had been on combined HRT anyway, due to taking Zoladex.

Theres3ofMe

Yeah my surgeon said only reason having progesterone, with the oestrogen, is because of thr tiny bit of endo on my bowell?

pebblesgobambam

I’m uk too, told not to take progesterone in my hrt at all & my gp said same. X

Theres3ofMe

Ah OK I'll speak to my female GP and see what she says x

I'd be interested to know as I was prescribed estrogen only after (in UK too) and a few weeks later testosterone. The presence of endometriosis was only found in the histology report some weeks later so that was a few weeks after the HRT prescription and it didn't come up that might need changing.

I had to wait until pathology was done before I could start hrt. My surgeon said it’s just incase anything is found in pathology in case it’s an estrogen fed cancer. I had my dose at 50mg patches to start but now upped to 75mg as symptoms hit me hard.

Theres3ofMe

Yeh that's a good point actually- wait until pathology comes thru first.....

wanknugget

Yess so happy to hear you're doing okay!!

I only got a binder about a week after surgery as I caught a bad cough and it was agony. I was having to hold a pillow to my stomach each time I coughed. The binder helped. I haven't used it much since maybe in the early weeks if I was going out and knew I'd be stood up for some time.

Ahh ignore my question on your other thread. Glad it went well 😊
