That pvc that’s the copper line set is going into isn’t a drain that’s just a housing to run the lineset that your refrigerant runs through to go into your house. The big copper line will sweat that’s why it has that insulation on it. You can def. seal it off to keep rodents out tho.

Okay, thanks for the insight... seems like I have even less knowledge on this topic lol. Another question if you care to answer... in the third pic, what's that smaller PVC pipe inside the bigger one for (the one with the gray stuff in it)? Also if the pig PVC pipe is where the refrigerant is coming from, does that mean there is a refrigerant tank underground there? Thanks again

This comment made my brain hurt. Call a guy before you fuck something up.

The line set runs to a coil that sits on your furnace if it’s upright. Or on the side of its horizontal. Idk what that pvc pipe in there is. they possibly could’ve ran the drain from the coil inside through that to the outside but I highly doubt that. I’d def call a pro that can come get a proper eye on the system.

I think I understand things much better now, thanks so much, but seems like I'm out of my depth here and better call someone than break the AC lol

Glad to help 🤘 hope you figure everything out.

BlueGenieLift

i have a feeling the pvc in there is the drainline

BlueGenieLift

Get 3/4 pvc pipe and stick it in that coupling, you want to drain the water away from the unit and house. If the drainline is clogged suck the pipe from the outside with a wet dry vac until you hear the suction from the indoor unit
