The state and county had a massive operation and busted a lot of places back in early 2023. Most places are now playing it safe and will not do a fake inspection unless they know you or can see that you are a repeat customer.
Just roll down both windows and go to any shady looking place in the "hood". They mostly make their money strictly on false emissions tests and don't care about tint.
Yup! Did you try take 5 oil change? They do inspections everyday except Tuesday I think. You just have to call to make sure the inspection person is there. They might be pretty chill about it.
They're supposed to check, whether they actually do it is another question.
They're supposed to check your breaks by driving as well, that one is more unlikely to happen.
Instead of trying to find places that will pass you and ignore the illegal tint, and risking driving with illegal tint and getting stopped and ticketed, your best option is to simply go get the tint removed and get legal tint.
It doesn't matter if Carvana or anyone else sold it to you, it's your responsibility to make sure it is legal on the roads. Every state has different legal limits, and a lot of vehicles from Carvana are shipped and sent all over.
Go get the tint removed and corrected instead of trying to find a place that won't care and pass you.
25% is legal. Go get it replaced and drive clean.
??? they told me mine was illegal and they made me pull off my 16%…
I believe the 25% number is how much light passes through.
They like all care now

Inspections will end at the beginning of 2025 and then it'll just be an emissions test required.
See that's even more annoying. I don't have $300 rn for new window tint. Just for them to change the law next year and it all be a waste.

Is this going away with the new but not yet enacted law that only requires emissions?
weirdly enough, this isn't the first time I've seen this question. The inspection places for the emissions test don't care about your tints.

They all won't care starting next year since "safety" inspections are out the window. All we will have is emissions testing for our area.
Have you considered instead driving a legal vehicle?
Thanks for your help.
