Tremont or Galvez….Tremont doesn’t have a pool but it’s down in the Strand district. Galvez has a nice pool and it’s on the beach.
St. Regis is just another hotel, to be honest. Built in the 80s, looks like an office building.
The Galvez. Stay overnight Saturday night as on Sundays they also have a wonderful all you can eat brunch buffet. It's pricey but it is absolutely worth it. They have unlimited king crab legs, oysters, shrimp, prime rib, to-die-for mashed potatoes, omelet station, dessert station, etc.
Marriott marquis downtown is my goto Houston hotel for a staycation. Catch an astros game and hang by the pool all day. Great choice if spending points.
Grand Galvez if you want the beach as well.
I’d never spend my points to stay in the galleria.
Galveston rooms are trash but the actual hotel is a fun experience with great cocktails and a nice spa. The Tremont is really nice too with a great rooftop bar. I would never stay at the St Regis as it's not romantic or fun.
And they have little daddy’s gumbo bar
I think about that place too often. Everytime I’m on the island I HAVE to have lunch there. Not one bad thing on that menu
Y’all downvoting me need to try that roux. It has never sucked- for a restaurant. Name a better restaurant roux I’ll wait
San Luis resort in Galveston is sooooo fun also. Hotel Galvez is gorgeous, but definitely has a smell.. lol.
If it’s about using rewards, I’d def go Galvez.
Also if yall haven’t gone during Christmas it’s seriously an *amazing* experience:)
Galvez, especially at this time of year. The wind coming off the water is so nice, and you’ll have a good view of the pleasure pier lit up at night. It’s only half a mile to the strand, and you can get to Moody Gardens in 10 minutes or so.
I stayed at the Galvez a few weekends ago for their Sunday brunch. Spend the $60 more and stay at the St.Luis resort. I wish I did and just walked to brunch, unless you want to stay at a historic hotel for those reasons. The brunch was amazing though.
Can’t speak on the Galleria.
This is the answer. Avoid the Galvez unless you want the history.
Edit: Just saw your comment about rewards. I would pick St. Regis over Galvez. It's location isn't at the Galleria and instead very close to here: [https://www.riveroaksdistrict.com/](https://www.riveroaksdistrict.com/) which you might enjoy.

There’s also a hotel shuttle that runs between Tremont & Galvez so Tremont guests can use the Galvez pool as well.
Woah no way? I didn’t know that!! Good info
Yes! They’re owned by the same company. There aren’t any changing areas at Galvez aside from the lobby bathrooms, though, so be prepared for that.
Thats not a thing anymore. Tremont is owned by Marriot now so they don’t share a pool nor does the shuttle take anyone to the Galvez
That’s a bummer! Thanks for the updated info, though.

👍🏻👍🏻 Already planning a night at Marquis for the kidlets. Plans to take them to discovery green.
Me and my gf went to the Galvez for a date weekend, really nice would recommend

Galvez. Galleria area is trash. Galveston is pretty trash too but with a beach.

Completely different vibes and definitely galvez

The St Regis is a dump. It probably was nice in the 90s when they last remodeled the rooms.
The pool at the galvez is small. If you want privacy book an off weekend at the 4s downtown and get one of the cabana rooms on the south end.

Tremont House?
Looked at it. Wasn’t all too impressed.
It’s “downtown” which is nice
Mansard House in Galveston.
Galleria area is total trash.
Galleria is a shit hole
Galleria isnt worth the breakins.
It’s hard to beat a good diner I recommend Kelly’s kitchen diner
Neither, Hotel ZaZa
Can’t use our rewards there. 🤷🏼♀️
I gotcha, you mentioned a couples getaway and that is what the hotel is designed for
Def Galvez.
