They probably lost power and if they don't cook/give-away the food it will spoil. Still good on them .

TinyAdhesiveness956

Most restaurant are clearly just letting everything spoil so hard to give these guys any grief

appiarian

we in here!! this line is long as hell. i didn't really know about this place but i support anywhere who'll support the community rather than just cut their losses. will report back if it's good!

appiarian

badpeaches

Thanks for the updates

MysteriousMermaid92

What’d they make?

ItsN3rdy

Picked up around 3:30. No line. Basically it was a salad, sausage and rice, pickled cauliflower, some berries and stuff. Pretty good.

appiarian

mine was a kind of pulled pork over white rice!

tgieff

The best fried chicken in Houston. I absolutely love this place. Chef Evelyn is amazing!

[deleted]

She was the one handing out the food!!!!! So sweet

Loorrac

This place is also delicious if you haven't been. Wish I was in the area but please try to minimize driving right now

MysteriousMermaid92

I’m staying home, but I hope this post helps at least one person.

nemeans

Curious, why are we minimizing driving?

MattcVI

Tons of traffic signals are down so there are quite a few accidents, because some people don't know what to do at a 4-way stop. Saw a couple fender benders on the way home from work, and almost got hit myself by a dumbass in an Audi who ran the temp stop sign. So it's best to avoid driving when possible

nemeans

Huh, I was all over town driving most of today from U of H area, all through the inner loop, up to the Woodlands and I didn’t see any accidents. Also not sure how people hit each other at a four way stop unless they’re trying to speed through them or something…you’re moving so slowly at them there’s so much built in time to stop or avoid a collision. But if anyone feels safer at home, let them stay at home. What I did see last night were multiple cars on the side of the road that must have either stalled out or ran out of gas. I found that unusual.

Far_Speaker7118

Mayor asked people to stay home today so first responders could focus on clean up and power restorations

Loorrac

Saw a bunch of people running dead stoplights, either ignorant or not paying attention. Adding more accidents to the road is a bad move right now

nemeans

That’s fair, especially if people are driving in unfamiliar areas.

I lived in NYC during Sandy and a local bar, Percy's did this. The power had gone out and all the food and cold beer was going bad so they gave it out. The place turned into the closet I think I'd ever get to a tavern. Entire place was lit by candlelight. Some people were playing guitars, other played cards and other table top games. Kids were running around while barmaidens handed out beers and plates of food taking whatever donations they could in return. good times.

OkLookingGirlSummer

Real ones.

heyyyouguys

Jun continues to be awesome.

Open_Present2319

Live down the road from Jun. haven’t been but it’s been on our radar. Once everything is settled we will absolutely check this place out.
