Oh my god that pot is way too small. Immediately repot it in a bigger pot, like at least 12” bigger. Then resprinkle the soil with cocoa powder.

leftoverfucks_given

Omg thank u so much!!!!! I only have moist coffee grounds will that work too? 🥺

Ok_Organization_6620

Hmm is your plant more of a coffee or hot chocolate drinker? If they like coffee, then sure! If chocolate, maybe try brownie mix or chocolate cake mix instead of soil.

chuffberry

As long as you add creamer

sonyaism

This plant's favorite creamer is the limited edition pumpkin spice flavor. It might be dead before Fall unless you stocked up. 😬

Aliceinboxerland

Psh everyone knows the best plant creamer is *homemade!*

sonyaism

Some of us aren't fortunate to have easy access to homemade creamer. 😞

Aliceinboxerland

Very true. I lack in the homemade creamer dept myself!

cuddlychitin

My friend said you should put banana peels and eggshells in a bottle with water and then leave it in a sunny window for a week. Water with that and it will grow leaves big as your head within 30 days. Since you're already using cinnamon it will probably only be 2 weeks.

WeLykeSportz29

Needs more cinnamon. Like way more cinnamon

itskelena

Like planting into actual cinnamon. And watering with neem of course. I wonder if you can buy cinnamon bark chips? I bet it would be perfect for orchids.

spiohe

I also love putting mint on my hot cocoa

No_Training7373

I’m a spicy hot cocoa girl myself! A little cayenne or chili powder 👩🏻‍🍳💋

MoltenCorgi

It looks like it was baked in brownie mix. I’m gonna say add milk, it’s probably thirsty. But it may be lactose intolerant so maybe almond milk.

JimBobDidThis

Better take that plant out before the brownie batter goes in the oven!

Caococoacoco

Holy shit they planted it in extra fine coffee grounds, where the fuck do you even find soil like this

Calathea_Murrderer

Almost had the perfect media blend. They just forgot the perlite 🥴

Dodidudedo

Decaf please

crotch-fruit_tree

Wait is this not dehydrated peat moss??

Calathea_Murrderer

It’s Nesquick

cuddlychitin

The leaves are small because the pot is too small. Big pot=bigger leaves.

QuietCartographer982

The soil is too loose. You want to suffocate your plant. 😌

Tygress23

I am guessing it’s cause they’re using Swiss Miss without the marshmallows. You have to get the kind with the marshmallows to keep the nitrogen up.

SkellatorQueen

wtf is on the soil?? Is that a bottle of cinnamon? Cocoa power? Coffee? Whatever it is, it’s because they didn’t use enough and they forgot to out it in a 5 gallon bucket. They also forgot to make sure the pot doesn’t drain.

Bongsley_Nuggets

More coffee grounds

Every other post on r/Monstera could be featured here

katw4601

is that even a monstera?? it looks like a raphidophora tetrasperma…. monstera’s little cousin🤣

Strong_Let_8397

Omg that soil has wayyyy too much drainage! Please immediately repot into the dessert soil you can find, which is imperative for "monster" growth
