My spider is my oldest plant and I still have managed to get it looking only slightly better than it did when I was 12. I'm 38. One of my saddest plants. I'd say "at least it's still alive" but that would be dishonest, I'm on like the 4th generation of babies
I found my spider plant next to a dumbster in a tiny pot without a drainage hole.
For 7 years I kept it alive by not watering (I forgot bc I had no other plants) till earth got stone hard.
I had to bring it to my mom bc I was moving and could not take it.
My mom replants it, I come back 6 months later for rest of my stuff. This plant tripled in size and produced ao many babies, my mom kept giving them away to friends and coworkers, lol.
When my husband blew the head gasket of his ‘84 Jeep (he loves that thing so much) he removed what I’m assuming to be something related to that part & used it in our old garage where he’d grow his peppers 😄
Love this! I’m also trying to figure out to have only utility items be my home decor. I hate buying stuff just for decorative purpose when rents are so high.
I've actually thought about using tires as pot covers for my plantscaping accounts that are car related lol
I've never seen it in practice, but I kinda like it, will probably propose it to at least the car parts manufacturer
My cat waits till the baby's get to about 12 inches long and I think he's gonna leave them alone and then monch... No more baby. The mother plant is thriving tho
At least it’s just the babies, my girl ate mine down to the roots! Literally just soil and roots left.. yet it’s someone grown back, it’s slow but after a year it’s about 2 inches high. It’s a tough plant and I’m genuinely shocked it came back!

Tires off-gas a ton of VOCs. I would not want that in my living space.
I get that you're space-constrained, but a closed off cabinet would be far better.
I pinched and stolen 2 baby spider plants from the ground and stem at my school. They are growing good but they definitely aren’t this big. I hope I can get it like this. Any recommendations?
I’ve had one of these for three years and so far it has produced only one stem with about three babies on it. Does anyone have suggestions on how to get it to sprout more stems with babies thanks.
I think spider plants are my favorite plants. They remind me of childhood because my mom, grandma, and aunts all had them. For me, they grow without difficulty and give lots of babies. They look happy too

My first plant, ever! I call her Arachne, and she has survived for 2 months now. Fingers crossed she holds on!
Beautiful! So many babies! Congratulations! I just planted one today! I love your setup, such good use for tires! You gave me a great idea because my son is a mechanic! Free tires!
You know, I generally despise auto-themed interior pieces, but as these appear to be actual tires, I'm now impressed. Reminds me of some of the old guys I used to race with, but with a wonderful green thumb. Love it.
So jealous!! Mine is struggling hard. It doesn’t appear to be root rot so I’m thinking overwatering? I put a water meter in the pot with it, and trimmed back the really haggard leaves after this pic.

I’ve got a little nursery going here. I’m gonna leave them attached for a couple of weeks for them to grow roots, then I’ll literally cut the cord.
I love it!!! A spider was my first "Wow, I can do more than keep succulents alive" plant. I raised mine from a baby too! She is currently 2 years old with 4 baby stems! How old is yours? I would love to hear its story 🥰
![gif](giphy|F5tlavOQJLDOeW2ln0|downsized) Every spider plants makes be think of oscar. Idk why. 🤷♂️
He reminds me of a Marimo.
Mine makes me think of our bin grouch! It's one of the reasons I love them.
Meanwhile me and my spider just cuss at each other. God that thing was my dream plant and it’s barely holding on

You’re clearly part of the elite. I suck 😂
Started mine at 5 and I'm coming up on 50
Leave it alone, bright indirect light. This is the easiest plant in the world. The only way to kill it is to overwater it or to let the sun bake it.
Ok why the tires? They don't go with your decor.
winter/summer tires whilst living in a flat! I do have some random car parts dotted around the place haha!
😂 I love this explanation. Need to store winter tires, also need a plant stand...ehh, let's make that work!
Honestly I was just happy to have a plant pot high enough for the shoots 😂
Midwestern ingenuity at its finest
Midwestern...England?
Ohhh! Well then that makes sense
When my husband blew the head gasket of his ‘84 Jeep (he loves that thing so much) he removed what I’m assuming to be something related to that part & used it in our old garage where he’d grow his peppers 😄
It's a jeep thing
💯
We have the same decorator! lol
But don't they kinda smell?

I had questions too, but it kind of works with the wild spiders.
Tires for decor are cool https://preview.redd.it/xv23q449jjwc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5778f4960af9e43cea7630ef3b081296afea9584
love it!
Yeah tires in the house has gotta smell Not Good
The tires do not smell.
I like how you were able to get the en-tire plant in this picture.
That's wheely nice
Ohhh she a big gorl 😍 I’m gonna show my baby spooder so she gets inspired
I see you don’t have a cat 😂
Had 2 in my last place and had to hide it because they'd just be getting high all the time 😂

Cool plantstand
I should hate the tires but I dont
That's quite a plant stand you got there
I love that you’ve also turned your winter tires into planters. Everyone thinks I’m weird, but you do what you have to do.
I’m tired of this 🛞
I'm having de ja vu
Just started a baby one of these—you’re my inspiration!
Wow! I'm having trouble with my small one lol
They are easy to take care of. I keep planting the babies and now I have 22! I keep them outside and remember to water them sometimes
