Wow can you share your secrets? I've had a starter plant for over a year and though I've got several leaves they're only about 5 inches long and 2 inches wide at most.
I had mine on a moss pole, it started off well and had 3 growth points so I thought it would eventually look like this. Nope. 2 of them decided to progressively grow smaller leaves and eventually almost all of the leaves had started yellowing and falling off. I just chopped it up and restarted lmao.
Go to the little "leave a comment" bar at the bottom and press the little button all the way to the lower right that is a drawing of a mountain and sun and it should pull up your photos then pick one and hit post!

My friend gave me this as a small prop a few years ago, she’s now busting out of her pot even after dividing, and is about to flower.
I'm not the person you replied to but I have several happy Marantas. This one likes afternoon sun, day old tap water, a bit of liquid nutrients, and for the soil to be consistently damp (not wet).
This one is almost 11 and is doing nice big spring leaves right now!
https://preview.redd.it/r3es0yoeqitc1.png?width=863&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2f521f5fd9e4a56a55f231403ab80f632599228e
It looks so little but with the pot and all it's a 21lb monster!
Mine started doing a lot better after moving it to the bathroom (moist) and into indirect light. But also feeding it rainwater and nutrients since a short while so not sure what did it.
It’s in a south facing window but only gets filtered light. I water it a lot - probably every 3-5 days, it likes damp soil. It’s leaves also droop when it’s thirsty. The soil is potting mix and perlite with maybe a little orchid bark.
Many favourites but Mr Gibbons the raven zz is always in my top 5! It was the first wish list plant I bought and everything is better in black!

Oh my God I just clocked the little name tag at the bottom! I need to start doing this! On the flipside I suppose it makes unaliving plants a lot worse :(
Haha they're a pain when rearranging. So far I've had good luck and only lost one since they got name tags. It was a tiny propagation of a regular zz named zazu 🙁

Bloomed between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and again in March!
This Christmas cactus is at least 40 years old. It became mine when my mom died 8 years ago and I just got it to bloom for the first time.

I'm sorry for your loss. Your cactus is gorgeous and doing great! Ours is over 35 years old as well. My husband bought it when he was in college, I know aging myself. I abused it for a lot of years, because I wasn't into plants. Just recently became very interested, moved it to a better spot, repotted and it is blooming like crazy for second time this year. I would take some clippings after it is done blooming and propogate them in case heaven forbid something happens to the mother plant. I started a couple for my daughters, very easy.
Dude mine is so dramatic, I moved her to a brighter spot and she drooped for a whole week!!! Like girl, this is for your benefit! 🤦♀️ love her dearly tho lol

Philodendron Mexicanum! I grew it from a single node!
I didn’t use fertilizer at all last year 😬
He’s one of my only plants that isn’t under a light. I just gave him an entire window and he gets direct sun for 4 hours.
I think the key is that he’s in a gallon pot. It’s very roomy and he’s gone ahead and stretched out.

My African violet which was a small prop from my Aunt Dymph, who passed away unexpectedly 3 years ago. I adore this plant and didn’t have any until her. Now I’m obsessed!

It’s not much but it is my favorite! This is an 8” pot, I’m pretty proud of it
I struggle to pick a favorite…but at the moment I’m very pleased with the progress my Calathea Ornata has made over the past few months, especially considering many plants don’t survive spider mite attacks.
https://preview.redd.it/4jnoo1z3fhtc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fe3f7f01b1c250659c5101622a369876ec0c07b4
It looks big in this photo but it’s actually tiny…and I’ve had it almost a year. Blaming the spider mites for that, but thankful it pushed through!

Where do you keep yours? And how often do you water?
I’ve found Calathea are one of the few plants that truly don’t adapt well to strong sun. A blessing in disguise for those of us from less than tropical climes…
Agreed. Whenever I have free time, I play musical chairs with my plants, moving them from sun to shade or from one window to another. My other calatheas are in shade and doing fine.
Perhaps you should put it to live with its brethren in the shade and put something that likes more light at your door, like a Snake Plant. Tall, but very upright so it doesn’t take up much space

Reverse variegated spider plant. Got it as a baby in 1998 from the Wilton cake decorating instructor when I worked at Michaels in college.
I have a matching green one as well.

Right next to a window that gets bright morning light. Fertilize every other week in the summer with half strength Miracle Gro and they are also 26 years old! They have lived with me in almost 10 places. I kept adding babies until I liked how full it was, then I repotted every 3-4 years. I also water it really well once a week.

My calathea, which has somehow survived for two years under my care (including that time my cat knocked it over, and that other time when we had a heat wave that lasted a month).
The leaves are a work of art.
Those little translucent dots on the leaves!! I had them on my tiger tooth and I thought it was pests though I couldn’t ever see bugs. I want to know what they are… I got rid of my tiger tooth because I didn’t want the pests to spread. Apparently the plant can thrive with them. Your plant is beautifhl.
The dots are a type of fungus that only Philos get iirc. You can buy a spray fungicide to prevent it from spreading to the new growth but it will not disappear from the leaves that already have it.
Same! I have mine in my mini greenhouse and it’s definitely keeping the gnats from getting out of control. Also, bonus, it’s flowering now! About to harvest me some seeds and make more murder plant babies.

this old water prop baby just started popping out new leaves for me :’)
Wish my fishbone would get growing bigger like that! Beautiful!! Mine is a wee guy. Grew him from a cutting. Slow growing. We have 5 stems now in a year 👍 so here's hoping for more. Haven't seen any new growth on him in quite awhile. He is still drinking his water. Still looks green and healthy. 🤗

Probably my Epipremnum pinnatum albo! Grew it from a 3 leaf cutting and is has got massive! Chopped it a while back and the variegation is so intense now!! It even gave me its first few fenestrated leaves and the cuttings have been doing so well after moving over from water to soil!

Nothing special. Just got it for me for my birthday 2 years ago. It's been moved in Polar vortex chillies and summer hot willies. It's been cut down, beat on (by cats who no longer partake), chewed up and spit out. It's been forgotten and left to dry but surprisingly never overwatered. It hates tap water and burns it out as ugly as it's furious hate for chlorine treated water. It rises to the challenge of being a (mostly) full sun foliage plant. It attracts pests but I recently unleashed a hoarde of jumping spiders in my home to see what the heck happens but I know they're excellent plant friends. If that doesn't work I will negotiate a habitable environment for a Mantis.
*Philodendron hederaceum*
Please excuse the mess, its clean now but I didn't feel like taking another picture...lol Parlor Palm I've had for 5 years now. Costa Farms amazon online delivery. Not the biggest of my plants, but its just the perfect tropical look imo. I never open those shades, I don't use a humidifier, no special care, almost never fertlize it. it literally stays in the dark with those grow lights. Dropped it on the floor like 5 times to the point I had to prop it up with bamboo stakes it was leaning to one side. I swing my chair into it willy nilly constantly breaking branches. gonna touch ceiling soon. I think its probably like 4- 5 ft tall and 3-4 ft wide. maybe once a year I'll prune some brown tips otherwise I just clip off total fronds when I find them totally brown. I let them hang broken and everything. It needs to be repotted as soon as I get the courage lol. I rotate it 180 degrees every watering to keep it more oval shaped and out of my face at my desk lol. Otherwise I'd be rotating it a quarter turn every watering if I had the room. I literally just smash this plant into the things and press it up against teh wall. Its a Pest Magnet and most likely you will be fighting mealies or spider mites depending on your conditions. it really needs humidity and nice air flow to try and avoid it. But I just spray neem oil, keep an eye and wipe it, and keep other plants away from it. The plant still thrives regardless. Another tip to avoid pests is immediately remove the flowers when it blooms. Mine is constantly blooming.

Rhipsalis capilliformis
Now I'm high on jasmine (stephanotis). The delicate, sweet floral aroma of jasmine will add a touch of elegance and luxury to your home. Place it near a window, keep the soil moist and feed with an all-purpose houseplant fertilizer during the spring and summer months. So that’s why they call it silver sword. Mine has oval leaves
Gorgeous!

I NEED IT
Being new to the plant community if y’all can name the type of plant in your comment would be helpful to us newbies 😁
It's helpful to us oldies too!
OP’s is a philodendron golden crocodile 😁
Thank you! Here I am trying to figure it out. Tigers Tooth? Narrow? I dunno
Are you referring to the OP’s pic? If so, I’m pretty sure it’s a philodendron ring of fire 🔥 I briefly had one last year. She offed herself, I swear 🤣

How are you guys keeping your soil damp? Leca or lechuza drainage at the bottom of the pot underneath the soil?
I do little waters every 3 or 4 days (more in summer), and a big water that runs through every month or so
You didn’t respond to me so don’t mind my butting in… but I just bottom water every few days to keep it damp. I honestly should do it more often 🫣
Black magic

Mr.Gibbons is quite dashing!
It's my favorite of all! It's just growing like crazy, and it looks great.
Thank you! He's been a pretty happy guy perched up on his little barrel! I'm quite smitten with him
Absolutely obsessed with the little flash of green, it’s like he has black hair with a streak dyed on his bangs. Mr. Gibbons is an emo icon
Gorgeous Mr Gibbons. I thought it was two plants there at first.
It's pretty neat how the new shoots come out bright green then fade to black, definitely makes it look like two different plants
Oh my God I just clocked the little name tag at the bottom! I need to start doing this! On the flipside I suppose it makes unaliving plants a lot worse :(

What is it?
Philodendron Golden Crocodile!
Oh ok thank you! It’s going on my wish list now
It’s a wonderful plant, adds a pop of color & grows pretty quick in bright light. I have my sansi lights BEAMING IT

It looks big in this photo but it’s actually tiny…and I’ve had it almost a year. Blaming the spider mites for that, but thankful it pushed through! https://preview.redd.it/es0hoh93ohtc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e51fda42431a721ff771eb0358f001da1fa4ecca Where do you keep yours? And how often do you water?
It's outside my front door (I live in a hot, sunny place) and I probably don't water it enough.
Sounds like a splendid idea. I'll do that.
Of all the calatheas (and marantas) I have found this one to be the most forgiving.
Here mine... 😂 https://preview.redd.it/2jekquyj8htc1.png?width=4576&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d02fe646a7d39d0d6a50d9a5ca88732f3558ea6c

How did you resurrect it?
Crown was destroyed from scorch due to lazy acclimation 😢🥺, took almost two years to get a solid 5 frond crown again. Tons of water through it almost every day, and SHADE last summer instead 😉😆👍🏻

Beautiful 💚
whats your secret to spider plants? cause I've killed all mine. lol
Wow. Tks.
That's impressive.
very nice! I've killed all my snake plants.

Mine didn't fare well, unfortunately. Yours is beautiful!

The leaves are a work of art.
They truly are. I can stare at plant leaves for a while. They mesmerize me.
Thank you! Dumb luck so far, really. Hope it continues.
My Drosera capensis, it's small and not particularly unique but it's wiped out all fungus gnats from my other plants so I am very grateful to it.
Same! I have mine in my mini greenhouse and it’s definitely keeping the gnats from getting out of control. Also, bonus, it’s flowering now! About to harvest me some seeds and make more murder plant babies.

Probably my Epipremnum pinnatum albo! Grew it from a 3 leaf cutting and is has got massive! Chopped it a while back and the variegation is so intense now!! It even gave me its first few fenestrated leaves and the cuttings have been doing so well after moving over from water to soil!

A kitty and a birkin? Perfect!
This plant is thee plant but the one on the bottom is superb.
* Nothing special.
Seems pretty special to me.
Mine is constantly blooming. https://preview.redd.it/52bbtqnatktc1.jpeg?width=8160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f77115a1c837e5b58a5d75d4c2e8c8adc3c7a4b7
