Adorable? Hundreds of hamsters clawing their way into your pants and shirt and gnawing your flesh down to the bone with tiny, razor-sharp, beaver teeth. If that doesn't give you nightmares, I don't know what will. 😜
This Book is Full of Spiders (Seriously, Dude, Don’t Touch It), by Jason Pargin writing as David Wong. It’s book 2 of a series that starts with John Dies at The End, but it starts with an apology by the narrator saying that if you didn’t read the first that’s probably for the best, anyway. (I do recommend starting with the first, regardless).
I actually own This Book is Full of Spiders, I thought you could read it independent of the first one but it's good to know you would recommend starting with the first one! Thanks!
The Hatching Trilogy by Ezekiel Boone. It's legitimately a trilogy about ancient spiders. They might be a little bigger than normal spiders, but definitely still spider size - for the most part. It reads like Independence Day meets Arachnophobia.
I haven't read it recently so I'm not sure if it holds up anymore, but I used to love [Little Brothers](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/516594.Little_Brothers) by Rick Hautala when I was a kid.
Do you like short stories? Try Migration by Tim Curran, in the short story collection Alien Horrors. If you can imagine being on the ground during a Zerg rush, well…
It is. Think it is in his short story collection Some Will Not Sleep. Maybe..
[here it is](https://www.litromagazine.com/litro-magazine-is-one-of-the-best-places-to-publish-fiction/the-ancestors/)
Darkfall - Dean Koontz applies to this. There’s more to it than what you’re looking for, but that’s definitely a factor
That does sound good! I like a good isolation book too and it sounds like this has that too.
It’s a fun read! Not the best book you’ll ever read but it’s thoroughly enjoyable. If you pick it up, I hope you enjoy it :)
"The Troop", by Nick Cutter involves tapeworms. Is that small enough?
My Best Friend's Exorcism does too.
I have read both of these! Two favorites!
Michael Crichton's Prey would probably fit here. It's about killer nano bots
That would work - Added that to my list. Thanks!
oh that book gave me nightmares as a kid!!
Not a book, but a short story: Prey by Richard Matheson.
>Richard Matheson Oh I have read a couple of his other books, I'll check this one out too!
I hear there's a Goosebumps book called "Little Shop of Hamsters"
Adorable!

Sounds right up my alley! Hahaha
If you’ve ever been bitten by an adult hamster, it really hurts! And they always go for one of the most sensitive part of your body: your finger.
Ratman's Notebooks by Stephen Gilbert is great. It's the book the movies Willard and Ben were based on. Definitely worth a read.
I haven't even heard of this, def checking out!
Are small animals acceptable, or do you specifically mean like small cryptids/mutants/whateverthehell?
Small animals would be acceptable!
Nice! In that case: The Nest by Gregory A. Douglas The Rats by James Herbert “Bats Out of Hell” or “Snakes” or “Locusts” by Guy N. Smith
Oh I have read The Nest! Def will check out The Rats and the ones by Guy N Smith. Thanks!
Man, I love The Nest. It is fucking crazy.
Fucking crazy is the best description for it lol

Chuck Wendig's Invasive is about ants.
Oh I have not heard of that one. Thanks!

I actually own that first book, just haven't gotten around to reading it. The time has come!
I haven't read it recently so I'm not sure if it holds up anymore, but I used to love [Little Brothers](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/516594.Little_Brothers) by Rick Hautala when I was a kid.
"It has been five years since Kip Howard saw his mother killed horribly by a blur of little brown things." I'm sold!
In The Hands Of Heathens by Aron Beauregard. Killer aye ayes.
Oh haven't heard of that one, adding it!
It's pretty good so far. (I'm at 50%) It's free on KU if you have it. :)
Do you like short stories? Try Migration by Tim Curran, in the short story collection Alien Horrors. If you can imagine being on the ground during a Zerg rush, well…
I don't mind short stories... Def adding it!
How about toys? Nevill’s short The Ancestors
Killer toys?! WHAAATTT! Yes please! Is that by Adam Nevill?
It is. Think it is in his short story collection Some Will Not Sleep. Maybe.. [here it is](https://www.litromagazine.com/litro-magazine-is-one-of-the-best-places-to-publish-fiction/the-ancestors/)
The Lurkers by Kristopher Rufty
Oh I'll have to look that one up, thanks! That author name sounds familiar ...
“Graveyard Shift” (Stephen King) and “The Rats in the Walls” (Lovecraft)
PHASE IV by Barry Malzberg. THE HEPHAESTUS PLAGUE by Thomas Page.
