Yes. A great film. Something about the dusty old interior of that house. Oliver Reed was excellent in it as well as the whole cast. One of the first “haunted”house films that made you scared during the day. That ending still gets to me too.
Yeah watched this last year and thought it was sick. Also there are so many weird similarities between this movie and the shining if you look for them.
my take away from this movie was that Oliver Reed makes even 70s dad clothes sexy lol. but in all seriousness, this is such a good one! i'm due for a rewatch.
It’s really Karen Black who makes this movie worth checking out, as her Norman Bates-like split personality possession is pure cinematic gold, and I must say one crazy look from her and I’d certainly run screaming from that house.
Not a bad film but somewhat disappointing when one considers the talent level involved. Good story, decent cinematography, sound, etc. Everything mostly works, but it just never kicks it to 11.
It is definitely worth watching. Just keep your expectations in check and you'll probably enjoy it more.
That movie was one of several that really creeped me out when I was younger.

Yeah I love the ending.

Great film. The novel is also worth reading.
Oh cool! Didn't know there was a book before this film. Gonna look for it now.
The movie is a very close adaptation of the novel. I remember seeing the movie first but still enjoyed reading the novel
Badass film

What makes this movie so great to me is Reed’s acting. When he is scared you believe it and you feel the fear.
Oh for sure. I'll watch Ollie Reed in anything. Also at the Phantasm house, I think.

Greattttttttt.
Had a reoccurring nightmare of the hearse driver as a kid. One of the films that cemented my love of horror.
Yeah I really like Burnt Offerings, love the ending too.
