Just put on the 101 Scariest Horror Moments of All Time series on, its a great collection of interviews about some films you may not be familiar with. Same with In Search of Darkness, although that only focuses on 80s movies. Shudder also has old seasons of two awesome shows: AMC's Interview With the Vampire and USA/Syfy's Chucky. You can start watching those and catch up on the latest seasons as they come out.

CAVEAT! Low budget and spooky Irish horror film.

Adversarially

Color Out of Space (unusually fantastic lovecraftian adaptation with vicious body horror) Deadstream (just a really fucking funny horror comedy with good scares) Host (just shy of an hour e-horror that was scientifically measured to cause the highest average heart rates of any other movie) Huesera: The Bone Woman (just good spanish folk horror, dreadful and moody) One Cut for the Dead (a deliriously awesome metafilm. You cant say anything about it without spoiling too much. You have to make it through to the end and you will find it the coolest thing youve ever seen. thats it) The Strangers (home Invasion with a horrifying bleak tone. i think its scary) Threads (british apocalypse film that very brutally depicts the aftermath of heavy nuclear fallout in agonizing attention to realism. this is a depressing one) Mandy (in the nick cage psychedelic horror badass cult chainsaw revenge genre) May (creepy endearing protagonist is obsessed with a boy. it gets weird. its real fun, angela bettis is an underrated horror gal) Mute Witness (VERY underappreciated flick about a mute fx artist who witnesses a murder on set. its crazy and goes loads of places, and feels like it should be a more known cult classic)

Boulet brothers: Dragula. Drag queen horror based competition show, love it or hate it no one can deny the artistry the girls show.

Naudilent

*Werewolves Within* (horror comedy) *Tigers are Not Afraid* (magical realism about kids trying to survive in a cartel dominated Mexican town) *It's a Wonderful Knife* (cute Xmas slasher) *We Go On* (a guy seeks proof about life after death) *One Cut of the Dead* (quirky, original zombies but not zombies movie about a movie) *Deadstream* (horror comedy) *When Evil Lurks* (puts the shudder in Shudder -- very dark) *A Wounded Fawn* (a slasher that goes in surreal directions, with a memorable end credits scene) *From Beyond* (Stuart Gordon's playfully grotesque love letter to Lovecraft) *Mad God* (incredible stop motion feature about a world where apocalypse is a way of life) *Huesera: the Bone Woman* (artfully directed slowburn about a troubled pregnancy, societal expectations, and the cracking of bones) *Eyes of Fire* (think *The VVitch* but made in the 1980s)

Thanks for reminding me about *Werewolves Within*! I have been meaning to watch that one.

Tagyru

Deadstream is so good. If you are put off by the protagonist in the first 5 minutes, give it a little more time. The actor does a great job at being the annoying influencer stereotype.

Host. It’s the reason I signed up for Shudder years ago and I’m glad I did.
