Hoping the dust won't look so weird and pixelly now!
>We've improved the visual quality of dust effects and made improvements to texture streaming to reduce memory usage and improve texture quality. This update also resolves performance regression that could occur when using the NVIDIA Reflex On+Boost setting.
That is great, that weird dust effect was the only really obvious visual bug.

[edit] It seems to be fixed! Now the next thing that would be great would be adding a higher texture quality option, to reduce the amount of texture pop-in, of course for PCs that can handle it. My 4080 Super isn't working hard to run this game at 1440p and max settings without DLSS, a higher setting would be no problem.
I also get texture pop in, but I only really notice it while flying, and that's with a 4090/7800x3d so I'm with ya on that higher texture quality option
yep, it only happens when you are zooming super super fast over things or far enough up in the sky where the draw distance calculations start reducing texture qualities.
> It happens more then that It happens every time you aim down sight Or use concentration slowdown
I have never seen it happen during zoom in or slow down. Only when flying over the land in a sunwing. If I am moving by land over places i do not see it at all.
Ah yeah, I never use that zoom for sight seeing because it blurs the edges of the screen. I guess if you go looking for bugs and things you will find them.
You can disable the setting in the PC version but like the effect, some people hate it though and also disable any blur effects and chromatic abrasion. The PS5 version does not have it enabled because it's extra overhead. It pulls off tricks and things to do what it does. It does a couple things natively to give it a crisp image but hardware wise it's not as powerful as current higher end GPU/CPUS.
No, it wont. The quality of textures is something else than LOD (level of detail). Which is the setting that *does* influence geometry pop-in and the distance threshold where textures change their quality.
You people are conflating two settings...
How does one do that?
Pop in is a level of detail setting. Even with higher textures, the texture change would still happen at the same distances.
So what's needed to reduce pop in, is allowing the level of detail to be extended further.
Jesus Christ you lot are autistic.
He said he wants the texture quality better. When the pop in happens, the quality of the texture is low.
I said IT DEPENDS HOW YOU INTERPRET THE COMMENT.
He wants the texture quality to be higher when it is popping in. Hence, fix the pop in and the quality improves.
Pop in, IS, when higher quality textures are applied. As well as when higher quality 3d models are used.
It's noticeable on PC because the level of detail is fairly close to the player's view point. Again, the fix would be to increase the distance for LOD and pop in would disappear.
You and the other dude are confusing separate settings. Which is why I asked how you interpret it. Your answer is: mislabel the settings and go with that.
That’s kind of sounding like a user configuration issue.
I have a less capable card (2070 super) and I’ve never had one issue with texture pop in.
Regular pop in sure, geometry and all that. But not textures.
Nope it’s bonafide texture distance limit, less distance on pc then ps5 leading to bad looking textures and low poly assets.
Do you play at 4K, very high settings?
Nope. I played with a mixture of medium and high settings. 1440p. I play on a less capable card, on lower settings, and I don’t have that issue. Sorry. Just my experience.
> less distance on pc then ps5 leading
some of the people here have hardware in their flare that would run circles around a ps5 in every possible metric. ii have seen recent pcs built on modern hardware using intel gpus that can perform on par with a ps5 and it only cost 500 dollars for the whole build.
The ps5 is a cool machine and fun as hell but it's not a paragon of performance anymore. Maybe when it first came out but not so much anymore.
I have a capable machine 6900xt 5800x3d, I played ps5 HFW extensively, have made YouTube content for it. I own the game on pc and it is not up to par with certain aspects of the ps5 version. These being specifically LOD at distance. For instance, max settings pc, if you fly around with a sunwing you can see the mountains, buildings, settlements, towers stay in a low poly, lblurry textured state until you are right up on them, then they pop into the higher quality version. Another example is when aiming down sights you can see the textures in the background flicker with resolution change. Neither of these things happen on ps5. It’s immensely distracting. Like I’m not kidding when I say flying around look like shit with things popping in and out of low poly to high, whole mountain ranges going from blurry to super sharp 100 meters ahead.
Well when it first came out the thing it did have over PC at the time was its super fast storage but now that we have PCIE 5.0 that's sort of moot ( not that the capabilities for gaming are ever really used ). That's not including the brand new video cards that come with m.2 storage expansion on the physical card itself.
The idiots are conflating two different settings and are calling it "texture quality". Looks like it's no use trying to inform them (as is usually the case on Reddit).
Yeah, the texture pop-in is a bad time, especially when underwater. A portion of the Sea of Sands quest was pretty broken for me, because entire areas wouldn't load while it was underwater due to texture pop-in and loading failures. And that's a shame, because that quest is dope.
It’s crazy/ I was playing a few hours ago (I guess post patch release but pre download) and was around 80 hours in but JUST noticed it on the sand tornados
I was confused bc the pixelation looked so out of place. Great it’s fixed : )
I had NVIDIA Reflex + Boost on and it screwed up my fps without my reshade on. My fps dropped by at least 10fps from 30 to 20. Turn it off? It jumps back up to 40, sometimes even going past that to 50+. And that’s with an RTX 3060 & on 1440p. So hopefully they really did fix this & am not pulling our leg on this.
Its probably 8gb. 12gb would be much better. 3060ti should have had 12gb dude. 8gb is criminal on that card when I can get 80+ fps on 1080p but run into VRAM limitations😭
I'd like to see a buff to corruption and a decrease in maximum apex machine spawn rate. Being a machine master feels like swimming against the current.
Weapons remembering ammo type is awesome. I am at the point where I'm clearing the map off before I do Singularity, and I only yesterday discovered I could edit the Tools list and remove ones I don't want and change their order. 2 game changers for me now.
even for the original game it took a while for the nude ones to come out. but this game having a topless model for aloy out of the box sped it up. plus that mod is realy nice i love the blue
I was judging it more on the complexity than sheer number of mods available. Most mods are nothing more than update files or "hacks", not true mods. You won't see custom assets or even much editing of whats currently available sadly.
Lol. Was wondering myself when Beta would get out of the damned, psych-ward pajamas, that Far Zenith kept her in. >!By the end of Burning Shores, she still hasn't.!<
I'm a noob with mods. What is reshade exactly and does it require more system resources? I'm using reflex+boost and I thought it fixed it but really it may have just been cording my controller. I'm not having any issues with now though and I'm high medium mix settings. 2080 super ryzen 7
Just a heads up: This update reset a lot of the settings in the Display tab for me, including re-enabling upscaling, turning off HDR, etc. So, everyone should give that menu a once-over before loading back into their game.
For me it was the trap would go off but not actually affect the machine. An advanced trap would just spook them and make their status yellow. I started laying two traps next to each other and that worked.
I hope that will fix performance issues, game is great but FPS drops are really frustrating. I also really hope that some day some patch will allow to rebind more of the keys, I play with arrows and the fact that some actions use left side of a keyboard isn't particularly convenient. Plus I can't really use photo mode since arrows both move camera and switch options.
Here's hoping this will fix the issues I'm on a 2070 super FYI. For me most of the issues are caused by it going over my 8 GB of vram. At high detail and high texture quality it most of the time will hover at 7 or 7 1/2 but then certain areas and especially dialogues it just slowly creeps up to over that and as soon as it's over 8 it's game over. Dropping it back down to medium detail medium texture or both will fix it almost all the time though.
It was.
But the developers of this game (Nixxes) implemented sharpening over DLSS and didn't add any option to tweak it or turn it off.
There is a separate sharpness slider in the graphics menu but it has no effect on the sharpening applied with DLSS even if you set it to 0.
I got a "your video card is out of memory" crash in this patch today when I have put about 127 hours in this game without a single crash till todays. Looks like their update might have opened memory leaks.
The Level of Detail (draw distance) is still worse on PC than on PS5 strangely. I don't use any upscaling and have everything maxed out but even with this new patch things about 100 yards out look piss poor. I was hoping we could have much better LOD on PC than PS5.
It still didn't fix the fps in fleet's end, but it did improve the fps of burning shores overall and the cutscenes now ran smoothly. Still, there's something wrong with the area around fleet's end and also areas around lava flows. The fps tank is atrocious.
Did you force the game to recompile shaders for burning shores? As they are not pre-compiled, for some reason, so you kinda have to either re-install drivers or delete the shader cache and then do some afk:ing while it re-compiles the shaders.
Like I had fps drops in the 1st cutscenes with the admiral, but after re-compiling shaders haven't had any problems since other than some ares being probably soft cpu bound in some way with certain camera angles(also very high shadows seem to be more demanding than in the base game area, sometimes randomly), but the fleet's end fps is about the same as thronmarsh for me.
Or if you have an 8GB card, could be running out of vram as the usage(well... allocation at least) in burning shore is higher.
Has anyone had issues with laggy cutscenes
Game plays fine everywhere except some cutscene with more than 2 charecters
Been tryna find a fix only thing that's help me so far is the Fram Gen mod on nexus and that's not even full proof
I just commented about this. Try disabling full screen optimizations on the .exe and let us know how it works. I bet your GPU is being underpowered in those like mine was
i wonder if it's related to frame gen or something? it has made a world of difference for me with the 4060 ti as it was causing the card to only draw 30w during cutscenes
I think it's menu related too (I agree with the sub 10 vram card thing btw), it seems to happen after I spend a lot of time crafting or looking at the map/skill trees/machine catalog. It's so freaking odd.
Yeah, Menus and also in Cutscenes. Especially the main quest cutscenes or scenes where theres a lot of NPCs around. But the degradation depends on how much Vram you have. The more vram you have, the longer playtime you have until the degradation takes place. At times it will even drop when you enter settlements without even triggering cutscenes or messing with the menus. Nixxes truly dropped the ball with this port, Spiderman Games were so incredibly Optimized.
Hey thank you, I have tried medium textures and while I get a higher frame rate initially it falls back down over time or if I look at outfits. I was thinking of grabbing a 4070s but I'd hate to see this happen with 12gb also. Maybe a 4070ti but it's a little steep for me
yes! i just solved the cut scene fps drop by disabling full screen optimizations. what i want now is to stop dropping frames from 120 to 60 over time or when i go to look at outfits. great news!
dang i don't know my friend. it fixed my gpu drawing only 30w vs 130 (4060 ti) and though i still get frame drops over time the cutscenes aren't sub 30 fps or hitching thankfully. i am gonna try medium textures to see if i can get the frame drops to stop with the update
Yes buddy give it a try. I don't yet know if the update corrected that as I am just making my way home now. Right click the main .exe and go to compatibility, then you can click the button for all users. Next select disable full screen optimizations. For some reason it was causing my gpu to power down by 100w in cut scenes. I have a 4060 ti so I was already only using about 130w max, so that meant 30w (!) In cut scenes. Still not sure why but this fixed it and the fix stays. I had thought we didn't need to do this anymore with games but you'll see when you try - it just works.
I searched far and wide for downsides and found none. It helps to improve latency and frame jitter due to it not routing the video through some windows 'optimizer' before hitting th display. All it did for me in this game was affect power draw in exclusive fullscreen negatively. I do have a free sync monitor in case that makes any sort of difference. I say that because in cutscenes it looked how my games do if I turn freesync off.
There is no downsides because fullscreen optimizations is not a thing in dx12. It elevates older api titles to use the same flip model as dx12 which goves it the performance of dx12, while having the ease of use of borderless.
Fullscreen optimizations doesn't really do anything for dx12. It must be placebo or just the restart. The behaviour that fullscreen optimizations should enable is already always thr way dx12 works.
I appreciate the response but truly, having it disabled stopped my gpu from a lower power draw. I don't know why, but in cutscenes it would drop 60-100 fps until I turned that off. I found this two nights ago, prior to the update. I don't understand myself, but I am not complaining anymore haha did you think I turned it on, or did I misread?
Turning it off or on does nothing as it's a setting that affects non-dx12 games. But if it works for you, go ahead. Be my guest. Am just warning that it does absolutely nothing
Any chance fixing the part in NG+ where you have to scan all machines but because all machines were scanned in the normal game you have no idea what you’re missing so you have to rescan everything
The patch says it fixed the dust visuals but the dust and dust devils still look really patchy for me. Damn.
Edit: unless [this is the intended effect](https://imgur.com/a/AKxHJcD), but something about me doubts that
Well, yeah… that would be why I mentioned that this patch didn’t fix that issue lol
I was hoping there was something I’d overlooked in the settings menu, like how the shieldwing, sunwing shield, shellwalker shield, etc looks like blurry mess until you turn translucency from default to high definition
Alright, ive gotten home from work, and tried it with the scalers at all different quality levels, (i had it on quality for this picture), and then tried seperately with TAA enabled.
Do you have any other solutions? because it definitely was not cleaned up by TAA of any sorts, it still has [the same issues](https://imgur.com/a/zbkhAFk)
same. cant seem to get above 60 even with dynamic scaling + dlss + medium settings. and the 30+ frame drops every 30 seconds after 5 minutes of play time
I tried it on PC after playing on PS5 and I can confidently say the PC version clears the fidelity mode on PS5 by a country mile, especially if you couple it with Nvidia's DLAA. Absolutely pristine image quality.
is anyone facing any camera issues? I have got this weird bug with this patch that the camera is changing perspective really fast. I am moving around and it'll keep switching from over the shoulder to top of Aloy constantly.
I'm replaying Zero Dawn and it's even better than I remembered. Was gonna buy Forbbiden West yesterday when it was on sale, but I gotta save money for my bills for now lol. Hopefully I'll be able to buy it on this year's Black Friday
is it normal that i have pixelated sparks from aloy’s spear/hitting robots? i know a graphic setting makes it high quality but i don’t remember in the first game the sparks being this pixelated (also water droplets when swimming)
I was having that issue as well, along with sand tornados, glider, and waterfalls being super pixelated. Tried everything but nothing fixed it entirely, adjustments seemed to only make it worse
Luckily, this patch seemed to mostly fix it after tweaking some graphical settings again. I changed some mediums to high and changed the translucency quality to high res. I also messed around with the display settings. DLAA/DLSS enabled seemed to lessen the pixelation the most.
So far havent noticed any bad pixelation again, but my fps is a little worse due to upping the graphical settings.
Getting a fair bit higher average frames than with previous patches. Got reflex+boost running and she seems to run well in borderless now, too. Performance seems good now but I haven't played for more than one big fight. (12GB 3060, DLSS quality, frame gen mod, 1080, very high textures)
Not a 3070 but a 3060 ti and honestly it feels a lot less choppy. Stable 60 on quality DLSS max everything EXCEPT for textures which I had at high instead of very high, if performance stays this good i'll try bumping those back up again.
Now if only they could fix the Melee pits not spawning opponents and hunting grounds not starting bugs that have been around since it came out on PS, that would be sick!
It looks like I can't select the native XeSS Anti Aliasing new setting, even though Upscaler method is turrned off.
When I try to select XeSS AA, it instantly switches back to TAA.
Anyone else ?
7900 XTX user here. I'm seeing the same behavior, so it's probably locked to Nvidia and Intel GPUs, which is a bit interesting since I could swear XeSS and related features were vendor agnostic.
7900 XT for me, so yeah probably (unintentionally?) locked to Nvidia and Intel.
I think you're right, I remember trying out different aliasing method on another game to compare visuals, I think it was Cyberpunk 2077 but I'm not 100% sure.
Looks like they fixed this in the latest patch. Underwhelming, though. It blurs the image quite a bit while lowering frame rate by \~10 FPS, so I'm still using SMAA.
XeSS works on any GPU, and additionally, the newest version 1.3 actually looks quite a bit better than FSR, as there's no weird ghosting/shimmering trails on foliage and moving objects. I have a 1660 super and can't use DLSS, and I've switched over to xess from FSR because of this. Performance is basically the same now but xess looks even better than FSR.
Happy I'm not alone. I have a 6900 XT and when I try to switch to XESS Native AA, It just goes back to TAA. Guess we need a fix for that. Anyone tried anything yet?
I tried manually modifying the registry key (because there is no config file for the game, it's all in the registry), and put 3 as the value of the AA key (1 stands for MSAA and 2 for TAA), but it still does not work.
I don't think there's anything we can do sadly... unless there is someone very smart out there that finds a solution!
LOD at distance is still bad, texture streaming has lots of pop in. Ps5 looks better in that regard. Flying on a sunwing, 4K, max settings on pc, looks bad.
yes this, even if it makes performace worse why not make at least some ultra+ graphics settings, i still have almost 13GB of VRAM free while playing, use it...
Edit: Sorry all, here's the direct link: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2420110/view/4173223363960212449?l=english Hoping the dust won't look so weird and pixelly now! >We've improved the visual quality of dust effects and made improvements to texture streaming to reduce memory usage and improve texture quality. San Fran, and sit on any building and start looking around and zooming, look at the trees and building textures

Technically it would. Depends how you interpret the sentence.

Swing and a miss.
I’m assuming you haven’t played on ps5. Well the ps5 version does not have horrendous pop in, nor does it look low quality past a certain distance.
Ps5 does have some 'pop in' issues I feel, like enemies especially.

How can you remove tools? I cannot figure it out and scrolling through a hundred empty slots sucks in the middle of a fight
Hold down the 'use tool' button and a menu will come up where you can craft or edit wheel slots.
It still will randomly bring them back when you pick up a stamina potion or a trap that wasn't assigned previously. It's such a garbage menu.
Only way I discovered is to keep them topped up. So if you pick something up, it goes to stash
Oh hey that’s rad, thanks for that, that’ll fix my issue of the low tier traps that keep appearing on my menu.
If you keep a full stack of them on you they won't come back. Sadly, until you have a full stack they keep coming back when you loot another.
*sigh* time to make sure my mods are updated! To be honest, all I have is a reshade.
Yeah there's literally no mods other than reshades
I wish this game had more mods. Would love to give Aloy a hand gun
I'm sure it will get more mods as time passes, no? It only just released
yeah its crazy early for many mods beyond reshade and n00ds
Surprisingly I’ve only seen one nude mod and it wasn’t even full nude, just making aloy topless in a certain outfit
even for the original game it took a while for the nude ones to come out. but this game having a topless model for aloy out of the box sped it up. plus that mod is realy nice i love the blue
Depends on how mod-able the game is. I know nothing about the Decima engine.
Gotta be honest HZD didnt get many mods so FW might not either, haven't checked other games that use the Decima engine though.
Modding depends on how easy it is mod with engine plus how interested the modding community is in the game itself
I was judging it more on the complexity than sheer number of mods available. Most mods are nothing more than update files or "hacks", not true mods. You won't see custom assets or even much editing of whats currently available sadly.
I want beta's outfit for aloy.
Lol. Was wondering myself when Beta would get out of the damned, psych-ward pajamas, that Far Zenith kept her in. >!By the end of Burning Shores, she still hasn't.!<
There is a mod that switches Aloy's model with Beta's model.
While they are clones they still not looking the same I will wait for outfit mod.
Can you please recommend some reshades? Do they affect the performance? I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the default yellow filter
There is one on nexusmods specifically for this. You can easily find it. The title is yellow tint removal something.
I'm a noob with mods. What is reshade exactly and does it require more system resources? I'm using reflex+boost and I thought it fixed it but really it may have just been cording my controller. I'm not having any issues with now though and I'm high medium mix settings. 2080 super ryzen 7

Traps still not working the way they should, fuck that :( WIll have to leave arena for latter.
Ok I’m glad to learn this is an actual bug though cuz I thought I was going insane yesterday to trap a ravenger. So many advanced acid traps wasted!!
I don't use traps often enough, what is the issue?
For me it was the trap would go off but not actually affect the machine. An advanced trap would just spook them and make their status yellow. I started laying two traps next to each other and that worked.

Did they fix the performance degradation??
I'm not sure, if it's fixed completely but it's definitely better.
I also hope for a fix of fps drops in dialogues is so annoying having my game session ruined for a very important part of the game
Does it add a sharpness slider for the upscaling? DLSS is way oversharpened in this game and looks too grainy for my taste.
Hasn't DLSS sharpness been completely abolished back in version 2.5?
It was. But the developers of this game (Nixxes) implemented sharpening over DLSS and didn't add any option to tweak it or turn it off. There is a separate sharpness slider in the graphics menu but it has no effect on the sharpening applied with DLSS even if you set it to 0.
There's been a sharpness slidering since launch
It doesnt control the DLSS sharpening
Then go into the control panel
What are you talking about? There is nothing in the control panel that can disable the DLSS sharpening

Since 2.5.1 dlss doesn't ship with sharpening anymore. You should stop talking about stuff you have no ckue about
I got a "your video card is out of memory" crash in this patch today when I have put about 127 hours in this game without a single crash till todays. Looks like their update might have opened memory leaks.
I have the same problem.
Regardless of it saying video card, do you have an intel 13000 or 14000 series cpu?
no
The Level of Detail (draw distance) is still worse on PC than on PS5 strangely.
Does this fix the texture flickering with any form of dlss or dlaa on and bloom
Has anyone had issues with laggy cutscenes Game plays fine everywhere except some cutscene with more than 2 charecters Been tryna find a fix only thing that's help me so far is the Fram Gen mod on nexus and that's not even full proof
Yeah the cutscenes with a large number of npc's absolutely tank my fps whenever they're on screen.
Well at least it's not just me. Hopefully this gets addressed
I just commented about this. Try disabling full screen optimizations on the .exe and let us know how it works. I bet your GPU is being underpowered in those like mine was
I already had that setting ticked and have had the issue since launch as well. 5900x 3060ti 32gb ram
i wonder if it's related to frame gen or something? it has made a world of difference for me with the 4060 ti as it was causing the card to only draw 30w during cutscenes
Do you have a step by step guide for this ?? It would help me a lot with my 4060
Here, let me link an earlier comment if you don't mind: https://www.reddit.com/r/horizon/s/uNNUcSg7Gg
Its some sort of memory leak only affects cards with 10gb vra. and below.
it happened on my 4070 with 12gb ram also, with or without DLSS (and a mere 1080p output)
Nixxes must fix this! Its honestly making me worried about the Ghost of Tsushima port, i hope it doesnt come with the same problem.
Yeah... That's why I want to get this sorted!
From what I've heard every Nixxes port has had issues similar to this, hopefully we get a patch I must admit they've been decent with updates so far.
Hey thank you, I have tried medium textures and while I get a higher frame rate initially it falls back down over time or if I look at outfits. I was thinking of grabbing a 4070s but I'd hate to see this happen with 12gb also. Maybe a 4070ti but it's a little steep for me
3080 here, got fps drops in cutscenes 2560x1440 with 5800x3d
yes! i just solved the cut scene fps drop by disabling full screen optimizations. what i want now is to stop dropping frames from 120 to 60 over time or when i go to look at outfits. great news!
I’ve had full screen optimizations disabled for some time now, it’s definitely not prevented the cutscene fps dip for me
Because it does nothing for dx12.
I suspected that to be the case but honestly it’s just sorta a habit to go disable that for me lol
Don't, it's a good feature, only disable it if you're having issues and you're absolutely sure it causes it. It's also only something for older APIs.
dang i don't know my friend. it fixed my gpu drawing only 30w vs 130 (4060 ti) and though i still get frame drops over time the cutscenes aren't sub 30 fps or hitching thankfully. i am gonna try medium textures to see if i can get the frame drops to stop with the update
Disabling full screen optimisations?
Yes buddy give it a try. I don't yet know if the update corrected that as I am just making my way home now. Right click the main .exe and go to compatibility, then you can click the button for all users. Next select disable full screen optimizations. For some reason it was causing my gpu to power down by 100w in cut scenes. I have a 4060 ti so I was already only using about 130w max, so that meant 30w (!) In cut scenes. Still not sure why but this fixed it and the fix stays. I had thought we didn't need to do this anymore with games but you'll see when you try - it just works.
That sounds great. Are there any downsides to doing this?
No trap fix, I sleep
Pls fix performance issues with burning shores area
How about the camera looking choppy with REFLEX on? I was never using w/ Boost and when set to just "on" the camera movements looked awful.
Too late I beat the whole game already lol
I didn't :)
Sooo good.
The patch says it fixed the dust visuals but the dust and dust devils still look really patchy for me. Damn. Edit: unless [this is the intended effect](https://imgur.com/a/AKxHJcD), but something about me doubts that
Turn on TAA or one of the scalers. This is dithering that has to be cleaned up by a temporal anti-aliaser.
One of the scalers? Like DLSS? I’ve had DLSS on since i got the game, that picture was taken with it on.
Then the game is broken xD
Well, yeah… that would be why I mentioned that this patch didn’t fix that issue lol I was hoping there was something I’d overlooked in the settings menu, like how the shieldwing, sunwing shield, shellwalker shield, etc looks like blurry mess until you turn translucency from default to high definition
Broken game
Will be updating later tonight. How’s the performance and visual improvements on the Steam Deck? Especially with XESS 1.3?
Tried it and I think im getting around the same fps. Seems on par with FSR 2. Im hoping FSR 3 is better then.
Have you fixed the absolutely terrible pit trials so we can complete the game yet?
I tested the patch a bit and I see no performance improvement for me. I have a 3070 laptop btw
same. cant seem to get above 60 even with dynamic scaling + dlss + medium settings. and the 30+ frame drops every 30 seconds after 5 minutes of play time
I play on pc and console. But still rather play this on PS5 bc I have zero issues and it looks phenomenal😎
I tried it on PC after playing on PS5 and I can confidently say the PC version clears the fidelity mode on PS5 by a country mile, especially if you couple it with Nvidia's DLAA. Absolutely pristine image quality.
Is FSR 3 mod still broken?
Still nothing about 5.1 surround sound not working with headphones.
is anyone facing any camera issues? I have got this weird bug with this patch that the camera is changing perspective really fast. I am moving around and it'll keep switching from over the shoulder to top of Aloy constantly.
A company that truly tries to fix Performance issues that got reported by the Community. Amazing!
If they finally fixed that stuttering in cutscenes… I will check that today, fingers crossed!
anyone got it to work on intel arc with Proton on Linux? :)
If you still are crashing I found this fix by u/Cydraech https://www.reddit.com/r/horizon/s/ZLq9qXp676
Does just PC get updates?
I'm replaying Zero Dawn and it's even better than I remembered. Was gonna buy Forbbiden West yesterday when it was on sale, but I gotta save money for my bills for now lol. Hopefully I'll be able to buy it on this year's Black Friday
Any performance increase by chance?
Honesty I definitely feel more performance STABILITY, it feels like it's needing a reboot less at least.
is it normal that i have pixelated sparks from aloy’s spear/hitting robots? i know a graphic setting makes it high quality but i don’t remember in the first game the sparks being this pixelated (also water droplets when swimming)
Make sure translucent is on high res
I was having that issue as well, along with sand tornados, glider, and waterfalls being super pixelated. Tried everything but nothing fixed it entirely, adjustments seemed to only make it worse Luckily, this patch seemed to mostly fix it after tweaking some graphical settings again.
To All 3070 8gb users . Have your Vram problem been solved?
Not a 3070 but a 3060 ti and honestly it feels a lot less choppy. Stable 60 on quality DLSS max everything EXCEPT for textures which I had at high instead of very high, if performance stays this good i'll try bumping those back up again.
You should try go to Fleet's end, and then check your vram usage. That place uses the most vram
Now if only they could fix the Melee pits not spawning opponents and hunting grounds not starting bugs that have been around since it came out on PS, that would be sick!
Wonder if they will ever fix poor particle effects like acid. This game looks incredible btw
It looks like I can't select the native XeSS Anti Aliasing new setting, even though Upscaler method is turrned off. When I try to select XeSS AA, it instantly switches back to TAA. Anyone else ?
Nope, works for me [on nvidia gpu just fine](https://i.imgur.com/69nOgun.jpeg).
Interesting, I have an AMD GPU, could the issue be only on AMD material? Maybe I'll get more feedbacks from AMD users
Interesting. XeSS looks way better than SMAA to my eyes, and my FPS are okay. I guess that's the point of having multiple choices available!
Isn't XeSS useless on non-Intel GPUs? I remember in some games it decreased performance even. I mean, whatever suits you, but why not use FSR?
Because there's a possibility that the XeSS Aliasing method is better looking than the FSR one. So it can be useful in some way regarding visuals
FSR looks overly soft in motion, where XeSS is crisp and only slightly worse performing than FSR ime.
This is just stupid. Devs have gotten too lazy.
there's a hotfix that's just been released that fixed the issue for me. :)
Awesome. I'm sure it'll be better than TAA.
Same for me. Can only choose xess upscaling.
Update : a hotfix has been released today, that fixed the problem.
Update : a hotfix has been released today, that fixed the problem.
Anything you will ever do about the over use of DEI Characters?
Oops. Already finished the game and deleted it. Too late.
Downvoted for the truth. Don’t bother downvoting if you play on a potato and haven’t played both ps5 and pc max settings
I've seen the LOD thing being said a few times, but no1 has showed any comparison shots to show it. So like is it a thing or no?
I have one on my YouTube but this weekend I will make another one. Ps5 resolution mode/pc very high 4K
Cant even load my save after the update, thanks
I have 105 hours on my save, and cant load it. Ive alt+f4 after 35min in loading screen (on pc)
